Several people have been critically injured after a boat capsized on the Hudson River in New York City on Tuesday.  At least two people were pulled out of the water by first responders, with another 10 able to get out of the water on their own, ABC 7 reported.  The New York Police Department said the incident happened at around 2:45 p.m., near Pier 84, when the boat completely tipped over into the river.  Emergency services, along with harbor, aviation and scuba units were deployed to save the 12 people reportedly aboard a recreational vessel.   This is a developing story.
Dolphins are making their way into the iconic New York skyline as the city's rivers are now cleaner than at any point since the Civil War, according to environmental experts.  Anthony Obas, a Harlem resident, was lingering along the East River at the lower Manhattan waterfront when he saw a dolphin appear, The Wall Street Journal reported. 'I was like, that's a dolphin,' he told the paper. 'Oh no! In the dirtiest river in New York?'  Recent improvements in the city's water, however, have made the waterways safer for dolphins and their food supply, and in turn increased sightings of the aquatic mammals, scientists say. 'The harbor and connected waterways are cleaner today than they have been since the Civil War,' NYC Environmental Protection spokesperson Ted Timbers told Dailymail.com. Kym and Robert had instant chemistry on DWTS and ended up taking their romance off the dance floor and started dating. About a year later, they got engaged. “It was a really magical moment,” Kym told People magazine after Robert proposed. “I was just so happy. I was completely shocked. I can’t stop staring at the ring. It’s unbelievable,” she added. The two tied the knot on July 31, 2016, and welcomed their twins in April 2018. Dr. MIke's $320,000 Lamborghini was taken for a joy ride across NYC by a parking attendant at his building A New York City parking garage attendant took a five-hour joy ride in a $320,000 Lamborghini Urus owned by a physician who was once named the 'sexiest doctor alive.'  Dr. Mike, whose real name is Mikhail Varshavski, purchased the Lambo last September and was apparently keeping it in a monitored garage at his apartment building in Manhattan's Hudson Yards neighborhood. The attendant stole Varshavski's car from the garage earlier this month, in the wee hours of the morning, and drove it 'all over New York City,' a source told The New York Post.  A NYPD license plate check discovered the driver rode through Staten Island and on the Verrazzo-Narrows Bridge and the Williamsburg Bridge.  Officials only learned about the thief's spin around the city after residents tried to access their vehicles and the attendant was nowhere to be found. 'The reason that they caught him was because other people came to get their cars and there was no one there,' the source...
As crime soared and his approval rating plunged, New York City's 'blue-collar mayor' Eric Adams rubbed elbows with Hollywood stars and powerbrokers at one of the most exclusive venues in town. The cop-turned-politician flew to Los Angeles last weekend for a three-day jaunt in Tinsel Town, he says, to drum up positive press and business for the Big Apple. During his trip, which included catching Dave Chappelle's show at the Hollywood Bowl, he was seen at a dinner at the hyper-cool, members-only San Vincente Bungalows hosted by top Hollywood agent Cade Hudson, according to Page Six. Paris Hilton, Casey Affleck, Kate Hudson, her mom, Goldie Hawn and a gaggle of top movers and shakers such as sports agent Rich Paul, producer John Goldwyn, nightlife entrepreneur Jeff Klein, Kris Jenner's boyfriend Corey Gamble and former ambassador to the Bahamas Nicole Avant, according to the gossip column. It was an intimate 14-seat dinner at a long table and Adams gave a little speech during the meal. New York Mayor Eric Adams, shown here at the Met Gala with his date, Tracey Collins,...
(CNN)In a December 2016 article for The Architect's Newspaper, journalist Audrey Wachs noted a glaring issue with the Vessel, the 150-foot-tall tourist attraction that was set to open in New York City's gleaming new Hudson Yards neighborhood."As one climbs up Vessel, the railings stay just above waist height all the way up to the structure's top," she wrote, "but when you build high, folks will jump."That warning has proved tragically prescient. Last week, a 14-year-old died by suicide at the climbable structure -- the fourth such fatal incident since the landmark opened to the public in March 2019."We are heartbroken by this tragedy and our thoughts are with the family of the young person who lost their life," Hudson Yards spokesperson Kimberly Winston said in a statement. "We are conducting a full investigation. The Vessel is currently closed."It's the second time the Vessel has closed due to suicides. In January, after the third death, the Vessel closed for several months and reopened in May with new safety measures in place, including increased security, a buddy system and signs about mental...

New Yorkers weary of coronavirus restrictions are paying hundreds of dollars for boozy boat parties on the Hudson River, complete with hot tubs, despite rocketing cases in the city.  The high-risk party people are splashing out for BYOB cruises, bringing coolers filled with beer and wine to drink whilst they sail past The Statue of Liberty, with tours 'sold out' in November and bookings still coming in.  But while the owner insists that the cruises are COVID-safe, they may be in violation of New York's social distancing guidelines.  On Friday the NYC department of health registered 3313 new COVID cases, and 29 deaths. The seven-day average for cases is now the highest it has been since April. The hot tub boat tours are run by water sports company Sea the City.  The extra-wide aluminum catamaran was custom-built by a company in Albany and features two 600-gallon tubs. They feature bathrooms and changing rooms on board. Prices start at $349 for two people on weekdays, or $1,800 for the entire boat on a weekend.     Social media marketer Jackie Chamberlain posted this...
