With the holiday season each year comes a slew of new movies for everyone. This year’s offerings include family-friendly picks, drama, comedy and even horror.  Additionally, with Christmas just around the corner, the holiday-themed offerings are beginning to roll in. Between streaming and theatrical releases, indie flicks and high-profile offerings, here’s a look at this year’s Thanksgiving movies. ‘HOUSE OF GUCCI’ INSPIRATION PATRIZIA REGGIANI SAYS SHE STILL HAS 'ENORMOUS LOVE' FOR MAURIZIO AFTER MURDER "Encanto"An animated musical adventure from Disney, "Encanto" follows the story of a young girl’s magical family. "It’s about this extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live in the mountains of Columbia and everybody in the family has these special powers except for Mirabel," Fandango Managing Editor Erik Davis told Fox News. "But then soon, they realize that Mirabel may hold the key to protecting that power." The film stars "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" alum Stephanie Beatriz and the story was developed by "Hamilton" scribe Lin-Manuel Miranda, who also wrote original music for the flick. Macy's announced the lineup of its annual Thanksgiving Day Parade as it returns to hosting the event as normal, complete with giant balloon floats, live performances — and the addition of Baby Yoda.  “For more than nine decades, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has served to bring joy to millions, who gather with friends and family to experience this one-of-a-kind holiday celebration along the streets of New York City and in homes nationwide,” Will Coss, the parade's executive producer, said in a news release.   In order to produce the event safely, the department store will partner closely with city and state officials to ensure health and safety practices align with CDC guidelines and other relevant protocols, it said. Macy's announced in September that the full spectacle of its Thanksgiving parade would return this year. Its press release on Monday detailed the new additions and safety measures for this year's festivities.  Among the featured floats is a a "Funko Pop! inspired Grogu," also known as Baby Yoda from the hit series The Mandalorian, as well as Pikachu and Eevee from Pokemon.  Carrie Underwood...

But for most people who can’t be there in person most years anyway, the parade is going to look exactly the same as it always does, ushering in the holiday season with beautiful balloons, floats, and performances from New York City. Here is the lineup of performers, guests, and special performances. Every year, Thanksgiving holds an all-day marathon of football games to watch in between talking to our families. Thanksgiving is going to be a little different this year with a lot of people spending it with their immediate families, but one thing that will not be changing is there will be football on the television. With the talent from the undefeated Steelers, the Ravens in desperate need of a win, the weirdly fun Cowboys, and Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans all off the board for Sunday Fanduel players this week, alternatives are necessary. Luckily, the Tom Brady-Patrick Mahomes matchup gives about 10 total options between the two of them for what’s likely to be a high-scoring affair. There are other interesting games on the docket, including some with intriguing low-priced options. The Giants-Bengals game could either be a low-scoring snoozer or a weirdly high-scoring blowout. After Joe Burrow’s knee injury, who knows what...
Regardless of your place in the standings in your season-long fantasy football leagues, there’s no better time to play NFL DFS than on Thanksgiving. That’s especially true if you’re 4-7 and out of the playoff race, but even if you’re a top contender, why not try to keep the good times rolling by winning some money in a FanDuel Single-game contest? The Washington-Cowboys showdown is arugably the toughest on the Thursday slate. Unlike Texans-Lions (two bad defenses) and Ravens-Steelers (two good defenses), this one features a bad defense (Dallas) and a good defense (Washington), as well as some highly dependable daily fantasy producers. Our lineup tries to find the balance between the two while making a couple contrarian picks that should help ensure some much-needed differentiation. We’re taking some major risks by fading Terry McLaurin, J.D. McKissic, and all of Dallas’s wide receivers. We’re most worried about McLaurin going off, but McKissic doesn’t have quite as much value in FanDuel’s half-point PPR scoring as he does in DraftKings’ full-point PPR format, and the Cowboys’ wideouts also have slightly lower ceilings...
Deshaun Watson and Matthew Stafford bring potential for the first game on Thursday to be filled with points. That’s an appealing concept for NFL DFS players looking to put together Thanksgiving DraftKings Showdown lineups for Lions-Texans because the more fantasy points the merrier (as long as they’re in our lineup). We’ve gone with a Houston-heavy construction here for a couple reasons. First, the Lions are just very banged-up right now. Even if guys play, it might not be at 100 percent, and that includes Matthew Stafford. Second, the matchups are very favorable for the Texans in this game, starting with our captain, Duke Johnson. MORE DK SHOWDOWN: How to win a Showdown contest DraftKings Showdown Picks: Lions vs. Texans Captain (1.5x price, 1.5x points): RB Duke Johnson, Texans ($11,700) The Lions have allowed more DK points per game to RBs than any other team in the NFL. Johnson is the unquestioned lead back in Houston with David Johnson (concussion) still out. Add in Duke’s pass-catching that works nicely in DK’s PPR scoring, and you have a solid captain play at a...
There’s nothing like a good NFC East rivalry game on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys and Washington Football Team are going to be squaring off in a battle where the winner will temporarily be in first place in the division. This should be a well-fought game, and NFL DFS players looking to play a Thursday DraftKings Showdown lineup should have plenty of viable picks to choose from given the sheer number of offensive weapons each side has. In this lineup, we have a slight lean on Washington players because of Dallas’ porous defense, and we’re fading the quarterbacks entirely since they only have one multi-TD game combined in six starts this year. We have a lot of receiving action in this lineup, too, so that should give it a high ceiling thanks to DraftKings’ PPR format. MORE DK SHOWDOWN: How to win a Showdown contest DraftKings Showdown Picks: Cowboys vs. Washington Captain (1.5x price, 1.5x points): RB J.D. McKissic, Washington ($10,500) Many will focus on Terry McLaurin as the captain here since he’s the highest-priced player on the slate and the Cowboys are one...
The Texans and Lions are squaring off in a Thanksgiving matchup that should feature quite a lot of yards and points. Neither the Lions nor the Texans have very good defenses this year, and each offense should find ways to move the ball. NFL DFS players looking to play a Thursday FanDuel Single-game lineup should be licking their chops at the potential lineup combinations, as there are plenty of sleepers and value plays to trust. We’re taking a Texans-heavy approach in this lineup. The Lions simply have too many top contributors dealing with injuries, including Matthew Stafford (thumb), D’Andre Swift (concussion), and Kenny Golladay (hip). Meanwhile, the Texans offense has been performing well in recent weeks and should find ways to beat the Lions defense. That said, we are fading the Texans running game despite a great matchup. Duke Johnson hasn’t done well in place of David Johnson (concussion), so we’ll focus more on their passing game and hope that being contrarian in that aspect of our lineup pays off. There’s nothing like turkey, apple pie, and football. Or maybe you prefer stuffing and pumpkin pie. No matter. What we know for sure is that football is good, and in a year when people are supposed to be cutting down on traveling to see family, making a Thursday NFL DFS lineup to enjoy the football with makes sense. We’re here to help with our FanDuel tournament picks for the three-game Thanksgiving slate. The one downside is that the slate doesn’t resemble anything like what you’d see on a Sunday main slate. You’re going to have lineup crossover that doesn’t really make sense. For the most part, though, strategy doesn’t change all that much. Finding one or two values is key. Stacks can still work. Limiting exposure to the team your defense is playing can still be advisable. It won’t be perfect, but it should go well with the pie. Even in 2020, Thanksgiving and the NFL go hand in hand. We wouldn’t want you to watch football without some strong DraftKings lineups shooting up DFS leaderboards, so we have Thanksgiving-slate advice for those of you looking to play daily fantasy football for the holiday. With just three games, things get a bit trickier, but there are paths to winning. The toughest part about a three-game slate is your lineup doesn’t always look logical when viewed through the lens of a normal Sunday. You might have a RB and WR from the same team or a player against your D/ST, but that’s almost unavoidable. Instead, focus on picking the players and matchups that feel right to you, and just avoid having egregiously illogical overlaps.  Thanksgiving NFL DFS Lineup: DraftKings daily fantasy football picks for Thursday QB Lamar Jackson, Ravens @ Steelers ($6,800) The Steelers have been Jackson’s kryptonite throughout his NFL career, so playing him here doesn’t come without some risk. But it’s hard to totally avoid risk on a three-game slate. It would be fair to say Jackson played poorly...
