Princess Charlene of Monaco made a return to the world stage this week as she attended the Queen's funeral in London - in what was her highest profile appearance to date after a difficult 18 months. Zimbabwean-born Charlene spent some 10 months in South Africa last year, after contracting a serious sinus infection during a solo charity trip. The illness left her hospitalised and delayed her return to Monaco. After returning to the principality last November, the mother-of-two almost immediately left and went to Switzerland to receive treatment for 'exhaustion'. She returned to public duty in May, making the occasional public appearance with her husband Prince Albert and her children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella by her side.  She posed with Albert for a portrait marking their 11th wedding anniversary, and joined him in taking her children back to school earlier this month.  However she made her biggest return to public duty earlier this week, when she joined her husband at the Queen's historic funeral in London, joining 2,000 other mourners  at Westminster Abbey. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is hitting the campaign trail for several GOP candidates across the country who won their primary elections after being endorsed by Donald Trump. The popular Republican official made a name for himself among conservatives for his opposition to the Biden administration on COVID-19 mandates and legislation that Democrats have described as anti-LGBTQ. Now, he's testing that influence in the key battleground states of Ohio, Arizona, New Mexico and Pennsylvania in a series of rallies held by Turning Point Action titled 'Unite and Win.'  DailyMail.com obtained a copy of Turning Point Action's press release confirming the events. DeSantis' participation was first revealed by Fox. It adds to speculation that DeSantis could be eyeing a future White House bid - as multiple early GOP voter polls show him close to and even surpassing the former president as the preferred 2024 candidate. And in all but one of the states scheduled, DeSantis will be campaigning alongside Republicans who won tough primaries thanks, in part, to Trump's support. In Arizona, DeSantis will appear on August 14 with GOP Senate candidate Blake...

Sir Mark Rylance has bravely insisted on going back on stage tonight - despite the tragic death of his beloved brother in a cycling accident in California. The 62-year-old Oscar winning actor will take to the London stage tonight to star in the sellout West End revival of his hit show Jerusalem, it’s understood. His performance this evening comes despite the death in a horror cycling crash of younger brother Jonathan, 60. Sir Mark had been starring in the West End revival of Jerusalem, in what one critic has called an 'almost super-human' performance. He had announced in a statement that he would miss performances this weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, in order to attend the funeral.  But it was unclear whether Sir Mark would feel emotionally able to go ahead with tonight’s performance. A family friend told MailOnline: ‘Mark is at the theatre tonight. He will go on stage despite his obvious heartache. Mark will then travel to America for the memorial service.’ A spokesman for the Apollo theatre where Jerusalem is being shown confirmed that Sir Mark would...

(CNN)Tuesday proved to be an eventful day for Biniam Girmay, who made cycling history at the Giro d'Italia but later had to go to the hospital with an eye injury sustained during his podium celebrations. Eritrean Girmay became the first Black African to win a stage of one of cycling's Grand Tours when he outsprinted Netherlands' Mathieu van der Poel in the 10th stage of the Giro between Pescara and Jesi. However, the 22-year-old had to abandon the race after a prosecco cork exploded into his left eye on the podium. According to his Intermarché-Wanty-Gobert team doctor Piet Daneels, Girmay suffered a hemorrhage in the anterior chamber of his eye and has been recommended to avoid physical activity. "Our priority is a complete healing of the injury and that's why we decided together with the rider and the sports director that Biniam will not appear at the start of the 11th stage," said Daneels. A 42-year-old woman who died of breast cancer last month wrote her own heartbreaking obituary, in which she promised her four children she would always be with them. Jessica Marie McKenna-Ryan of Nine Mile River, Nova Scotia passed away on April 23, 2022, following a years-long breast cancer battle. She had first been diagnosed in 2020, and discovered it was back again in 2020 when doctors found a 'baseball-sized metastatic breast cancer tumor in my liver.' Though she admitted that she'd hoped her disease would 'stabilize' and she could go back to work — and have more time with her family, she eventually came to terms with the fact that that 'wasn’t in my cards,' so she penned her last words, which were published by the Ettinger Funeral Home. Giuliani's appearance on the show was first reported in February when the episode was taped, but it was unclear when -- or whether -- the footage would actually run until he was unveiled in Wednesday night's show. Wearing a 'Jack in the Box' costume, Giuliani revealed himself to the confusion and consternation of the judges, including comedian Ken Jeong, who eventually stormed off stage in protest. The former mayor of New York City, Giuliani in recent years became a highly polarizing figure, serving as Donald Trump's personal attorney and advocating for 'trial by combat' shortly before the US Capitol riot. Bob Saget told crew backstage at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, Florida, that he was struggling to get over long Covid and didn't feel good shortly before taking to the stage for what would be the last performance of his life, DailyMail.com has learned. Snoop Dogg managed to sneak a toke just before taking the stage with his fellow hip hop legends at the 2022 Super Bowl.  Production cameras caught the 50-year-old musician and known marijuana advocate discreetly puffing on what appeared to be a large joint shortly before his performance alongside Dr. Dre, 56, Kendrick Lamar, 34, Mary J. A clip of him crouching near the stage and taking a few hits of the supposed joint has been circulating on social media after sports broadcaster Rafa El Alcalde first shared it on Twitter.  ‘Warming up before going on stage for the Halftime Show,’ read the tweet, which has garnered 3.2 million views and has been shared 36.7 thousand times. Snoop Dogg was one of the headlining performers at the Super Bowl LVI halftime show, and if you know anything at all about the West Coast rap legend, then the answer is yes, of course weed was involved. The Doggfather electrified SoFi Stadium on Sunday night as he, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, Eminem and Anderson .Paak ran through their greatest hits at the game’s halfway point. The intermission kept the energy surging before viewers watched the Los Angeles Rams claim victory over Cincinnati Bengals, and apparently, Snoop had a moment to himself before the show where he took the edge off. Rafa El Alcalde obtained footage of Snoop smoking ahead of his performance. To that end, the sportscaster tweeted the footage out with the tongue-in-cheek caption “Warming up before going on stage for the Halftime Show.” Warming up before going on stage for the Halftime Show. pic.twitter.com/dKs6AAzjK8 — Rafa El Alcalde (@ElalcaldeRafa) February 14, 2022 The video is blowing up on Twitter — though Snoop sneaking in a joint shouldn’t surprise that many...
Adele revealed that she wants to go out more and be 'less private' before quipping 'what's the worst that could happen!?' on Friday's episode of The Graham Norton show. The episode was filmed just hours before the singer, 33, made a wild appearance at the G-A-Y Porn Idol event in London where she stripped down to her bra and pole-dancing on stage in a very bleary-eyed display.  The worse for wear star was also seen in tears as fans cheered for her, leaning down from her VIP area to ask a group of revellers on the dance-floor 'How does everyone know it's me?'  Adele eventually picks a winner after stumbling around the stage, addressing the BRIT Awards controversy from two days previously as she told the shocked topless competitor: 'I'm going to go with my girl! An out-of-control SpaceX rocket has been caught on camera tumbling towards the moon ahead of its impact with the lunar surface next month. The spent Falcon 9 booster has been floating around in a somewhat chaotic orbit ever since Elon Musk's company launched a space weather satellite on a million-mile trek seven years ago. It is expected to smash into the moon and explode on March 4 — in what will be the first known uncontrolled rocket collision with Earth's only natural satellite — but astronomers say the effects will be minor.  The rocket was launched in 2015 but after completing its mission to blast the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) to a sun-Earth LaGrange point, it did not have enough fuel to return to Earth and instead remained in space. For the past seven years the booster has been pulled by different gravitational forces of the Earth, moon and sun, making its path somewhat 'chaotic', before it was revealed last month that it is set to hit the moon at the beginning of March.  Good spot: An out-of-control SpaceX rocket...
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stumbled as she left the stage after singing the praises of late Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid on Saturday.  The California Democrat quickly regained her balance by grabbing on to the podium after the slip. During her remarks, Pelosi claimed that she had never heard Reid say an unkind word about any of his colleagues, a claim former President Obama later refuted.   'Few could rival Harry's understanding of his senators, their states, their needs, their ambitions, and in all of our conversations I never heard Harry say an unkind word about any of his Senate colleagues, Democratic or Republican,' Pelosi said.  Obama, who has credited Reid with his rise to the White House and delivered the eulogy, fact checked the speaker. 'He was willing to cut deals, even with folks he didn't agree with or particularly like.'  'I heard Nancy Pelosi say she never heard Harry say anything bad about any of his colleagues. I don't know about that Nancy,' the former president said as the room broke out in laughter.  'But he works with them!...

Audio recordings of police communications from the night of the Astroworld Festival disaster reveal that officers on the scene called for the concert to stop because people were being trampled in the crowd, but Travis Scott carried on with his performance. A crowd surge at the sold-out festival of 50,000 people on November 5 left nine people dead and hundreds injured, among them a 9-year-old boy who remained in a medically induced coma. Concertgoers have described the packed crowd growing dangerous hours before Scott appeared on stage at 9pm, and seeing people collapse while the rapper performed. Scott’s attorneys have said he did not know about the deaths and injuries until after the show. Transgender employees at Netflix are planning a walkout on Oct. 20 in response to the company’s defense of Dave Chappelle’s standup special The Closer and the brief firing of a transgender employee, who attended an executive meeting without permission, before she was reinstated. Employees say they raised concerns to company executives about jokes Chappelle made in the special that they said were damaging to the LGBTQ+ community, but Ted Sarandos, the company’s co-CEO, said that the show didn’t cross any lines and urged those who opposed it to be comfortable ‘living with titles you strongly believe have no place on Netflix.’ Members of the company’s Trans Employee Resource Group are staging their protest to demand the company recognize the impact of potentially transphobic content and offer a platform for transgender comedians and others from marginalized groups.
