JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon said in no uncertain terms that his bank will not stop financing the production of fossil fuels. 'Absolutely not, and that would be the road to hell for America,' Dimon said on Wednesday, in a clash with Michigan Democrat and Squad member Rashida Tlaib. Tlaib asked banking executives to respond ‘yes' or ‘no’ to whether or not they have a policy 'against funding new oil and gas products' - to meet their collective pledge to work towards net zero emissions by 2050. In response to Dimon's resounding no, Tlaib advised citizens to remove their accounts from the banking giant.  'Sir, you know what, everybody that got relief from student loans [that] has a bank with your bank, should probably take out their account and close their account,' she said, referencing President Joe Biden's plan to forgive up to $20,000 in student loan debt. 'The fact that you're not even there to help relieve many of the folks that are in debt, extreme debt because of student load debt, and you're out there criticizing it.'  The congresswoman...
"Absolutely not — and that would be the road to hell for America," he told Tlaib. Tlaib then got personal, suggesting that Americans who benefit from President Joe Biden's controversial policies should cease doing business with Dimon's bank. "Yeah, that’s fine," she snarked. "That’s why, sir, you know what, everybody that got relief from student loan [who] has a bank account with your bank should probably take out their account and close their account. The fact that you’re not even there to help relieve many of the folks that are in debt, extreme debt because of student loan debt, and you’re out there criticizing it." Tlaib was referring to Dimon's earlier criticism of Biden's student loan forgiveness plan. What did the other CEOs say?The CEOs of Citigroup, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo each said they will continue working with fossil fuel companies and investing in clean energy. Tlaib then returned to Dimon, claiming without basis that he does not care about common Americans. "You obviously don't care about working-class people and front-line communities," she claimed, "that are facing huge amounts...
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) called for people who bank with JPMorgan Chase to close their accounts during a contentious House committee hearing Wednesday. CEO Jamie Dimon and the heads of five other major banks each refused to commit to divesting from the oil and gas industry after they were questioned about it by the Michigan Democrat. During testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, Tlaib asked the heads of banks such as Citigroup and Bank of America what they intend to do to fight climate change. She reminded each that their respective banks have made verbal commitments to contribute to net zero emissions by 2050. “I would like to ask all of you and go down the list, because again, you all have agreed to do this,” Tlaib stated. “Please answer with a simple yes or no, does your bank have a policy against funding new oil and gas projects?” Dimon answered his institution would not pull investments in fossil fuels. “Absolutely not, and that would be the road to hell for America,” he said. Tlaib lashed out...
Robinson compared everyday conservative Americans to Chamberlain's soldiers of the 20th Regiment Maine Volunteer Infantry that defended Little Round Top. The North Carolina lieutenant governor implored conservative Americans to fight back against the agenda of Democrats. "They're coming up the hill followed by a whole raft of socialist nitwits, who believe that a baby in the womb is a clump of cells and do not honor life in the womb," he said. "They believe that you should not have a firearm to protect yourself, but you should pay for them to have firearms to protect them." "They don't believe that your children should be educated, they believe that they shouldn't be indoctrinated," he continued. "They dragging up that hill all types of things: CRT, transgenderism, this idea of birthing people – who in the world came up with that garbage?" "They dragging up this socialist idea that criminals should not be punished, that they should be allowed to run rampant," Robinson said. "That our borders should be wide open, that our police should be doing not demonized, that...
A top economist has accused the Biden administration of being 'Orwellian', after they insisted that the United States was not in a recession - despite the standard definition being met. Two consecutive quarters of negative growth is often considered a recession - although it is not an official declaration. A nonprofit, non-partisan organization called the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) determines when the U.S. economy is in a recession. Phillip Magness, the research and education director at the American Institute for Economic Research, posted on Facebook a commentary about Joe Biden on Thursday saying: 'That doesn't sound like a recession to me.' The post - which is no longer visible - was marked by Facebook's fact checkers as being misleading. 'We live in an Orwellian hell-scape,' he tweeted. 'Facebook is now 'fact checking' anyone who questions the White House's word-games about the definition of a recession.' Biden on Thursday (pictured) insisted that the country was not in a recession, despite new data showing a second consecutive quarter with negative growth Phillip Magness, an economic historian, believes the U.S. is...
Senator Lindsey Graham (R- SC) said on Twitter Wednesday he would “go to war for the principles Chick-fil-A stands for.” Graham was reacting to a FoxNews.com piece about Notre Dame students protesting the idea of Chick-fil-A coming to campus. Students and faculty signed an open letter saying campus dining should not even consider Chick-fil-A, highlighting in part its donations to anti-LGBTQ groups. The South Carolina senator reacted with dismay on Twitter, saying, “I have always thought @NotreDame was one of the greatest universities in America, if not the world… What a dangerous precedent to set.” It’s disappointing to hear some ND students and faculty want to ban Chick-fil-A from doing business on campus because they disagree with the values held by the Chick-fil-A founders. What a dangerous precedent to set. — Lindsey Graham (@LindseyGrahamSC) July 14, 2021 “I want everyone in South Carolina and across America to know I have Chick fil-A’s back,” Graham continued. “I hope we don’t have to, but I will go to war for the principles Chick fil-A stands for.” I want...
Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., lit into liberal "The View" co-host Joy Behar for claiming Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., doesn't "understand" systemic racism, asking "America Reports" "why the hell are we even listening" to her in the first place. REP. BYRON DONALDS: One, there's not systemic racism in the United States. Two, the United States is not a racist country, and three, why the hell are we even listening to Joy Behar? Who is she? I don't need her to tell me about what's racist and what's not. She already had her own issues wearing blackface, I know "The View" has given her a pass but I'm not ... You have people like her, like a lot of these White liberals, who love to demean a Black conservative because we don't go along with their ideology and that is the problem we're having. The left likes to talk about being tolerant. Well, show it now. Be tolerant. Actually listen to the words of Sen. Tim Scott, which were actually quite profound, instead of just running back to your corner and digging out "Mein Kampf" or "The Communist Manifesto" to figure out what your next talking point is going to...
MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Friday delivered a monologue aimed at Facebook for radicalizing Americans. According to Scarborough, Facebook has “set up algorithms that radicalize people.” He called for the social media giant to be “thrown into the free market system” and “broken up.” “They need to be regulated, but more importantly than that, they need to be thrown into the free market system. All right? No more socialism for [Mark] Zuckerberg. No more protection for Facebook. They need to be thrown into the free market system. They’re a monopoly. They need to be broken up. They know they’re a monopoly,” Scarborough said of Facebook. “Facebook is a monopoly,” he added. “It controls over 50 percent of news gathering, and they are reckless as hell. There is no accountability. And they are destroying not just American democracy. They’re destroying democracy across the globe. They are actually working with tyrannical governments to help chase out freedom fighters in certain countries. They are a malignant force across the globe.” Scarborough blamed Facebook for radicalizing people to kill cops and participate in...
An Ohio sheriff has offered to help raise funds for one-way tickets for celebrities who have said they want to leave America if president Trump is re-elected. Butler County Sheriff Richard K. Jones posted a 'press release' on Facebook on Tuesday that was later followed by a live video of him making the offer. 'Sheriff Jones would like to extend an invitation to put money towards a one-way ticket for any celebrity that would like to leave the country this time around if President Trump is re-elected,' the post - styled to look like a news release - read. 'Hell, I'll even help them pack,' the sheriff added.  Addressing celebrities who have said they would leave the U.S. if president Trump won a second term in a Facebook live video, Jones - wearing a sheriff's hat (pictured) - said he would be willing to 'throw in $10 to help get you a flight' In the post, the sheriff noted that some celebrities threatened to leave before the election in 2016 were Trump to be elected.  'It is believed not...
Under the guise of seeking to “prevent a constitutional crisis,” a massive network of well funded left-wing activists and progressive groups are training, organizing, and planning to mobilize millions of Americans should President Trump “contest the election results,” refuse to concede, or claim an early victory. More than 80 advocacy groups and grassroots organizations have joined in a broad coalition calling itself “Protect the Results” and proclaiming that “we cannot ignore the threat that Trump poses to our democracy and a peaceful transition of power.”  The coalition is a joint project of Indivisible and Stand Up America, two left-wing groups founded in response to President Trump’s 2016 election and whose goals are “to organize and resist Trump’s dangerous agenda” and “to defeat Trump and his enablers.”  Seeking to “protect” election results by use of its millions of members, the coalition calls to “take coordinated action” and “prepare for a potential post-election crisis.”  “Be prepared,” warns a video on its homepage. America’s 2020 election nightmare: Trump refusing to concede after losing re-election. Help us #ProtectTheResults this November by pledging to...
Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler's attempt to blame President Trump for the violent confrontation that led to the killing of a Patriot Prayer supporter in the Oregon city over the weekend represents "epic levels of gaslighting," Ben Shapiro said Monday. Wheeler, "the worst mayor in America" by Shapiro, blamed Trump in a fiery press conference Sunday for creating "the hate" in his city and again rejected the president's offer to send in federal law enforcement, telling him to "stay the hell out of the way." TRUMP BLASTS PORTLAND LEADERS AS 'TERRIBLE, INCOMPETENT' AFTER LATEST PORTLAND VIOLENCE  "He says Trump has to stay the hell out of the way," the "Ben Shapiro Show" host told listeners. "Weird, because Trump has mainly stayed the hell out of the way and your city's been on fire for the past three months, you stupid jackass." Wheeler's comments come after Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden suggested that rioting and violence in cities across America is a hallmark of "Donald Trump's America," a sentiment Shapiro called "bullcrap." PORTLAND MAYOR SENDS OPEN LETTER TO TRUMP: 'NO THANKS' "Notice among the list of...
