A SAVVY mum shared how she manages to save money by DIYing her son sports gear. She reckons she's saved hundreds with her trick, and doesn't see why other people fork out for the real thing. 4The savvy mum adds the logos to the clothes herselfCredit: SWNS Kat Burman, 37, says she doesn't see the point in spending money on name brand clothes when her son "only cares about playing football and running around with his friends". The beautician from Northampton got a £300 Cricut machine - which makes iron on designs - and decided to put it to use on her son's wardrobe. She makes Nike ticks and logos, then irons them on to £2.50 Primark t-shirts, as well as his plain PE bag. Savvy Kat also used the hack to turn alter a genuine Nike coat, covering over a pink logo - the only one in stock - with a white motif. She got the idea after using the kit to decorate facemasks, so started doing it on clothing this summer holiday. Kat said: "There is no point...

The said: "If you're wanting your home design to be timeless, try using a concept instead of a theme." It's so obvious when you think about it, how many times have you been in a cheap hotel and the décor is so overboard. That's because it's more of a theme than a concept. The pro explains that if you wanted a beachy concept for your home, avoid literal items from the beach. This is a costal theme and comes across as tacky and badly planed, the boats and starfish around every corner just aren't needed. A concept can convey the same relaxed and bright beachy vibes without shoving it in your face. Using...

PEOPLE are increasingly looking for employers who give back to their communities and have a positive impact on society, as well as offering workplace progression and opportunities. This makes Tesco an ideal starting point for a great career, especially if you consider the scale and breadth of the national community programmes it runs. 4 Last year alone, with many families facing hardship due to the pandemic, the retailer put together a £30million package of support for communities in the UK. It donated £15million worth of food and funds for distribution through partners The Trussell Trust and FareShare, in addition to ongoing monthly donations of 2.5 million meals a month from surplus food. Plus, it supported more than 10,000 local community groups with £8million worth of grants through its Community Grants Scheme (formerly Bags of Help) programme, and donated £2million to the British Red Cross to help them support people in need during the pandemic. Serving local communities is part of the supermarket’s DNA. It is at the very heart of Tesco’s own story, which began with a market stall in...
CULVER CITY (KABC) -- A new exhibit here poses the question -- is the artist Banksy a genius or a vandal? If you're unfamiliar with the name, you wouldn't be once you saw his work.Stepping inside this Culver City exhibit space...one can get inside Banksy's world. But who is Banksy? His most well-known piece is girl with balloon from 2003. His street art has also been seen on the streets of L.A."Somehow his art just falls into our heart," said Nachkebiya. And, although, Banksy hasn't authorized this exhibit, for a limited time, visitors can go online and buy tickets through December to see more than 100 authenticated works."Why do we go there? If only a few hours ago we had a leak about the design of the Google Pixel 5a, it seems that the search engine company has gotten tired of rumors and has decided to make all the information official on the review of the Google Pixel 5, which comes as a cheaper version of it, with some features slightly below those of the flagship, but also with some improvement that will be a joy for those who consider their purchase. Of course, before you get your hopes up you should know that, at least for now, the Pixel 5a will not arrive in Spain. At its launch, scheduled as we anticipated for August 26, it will only be available in the United States and Japan. Will it reach other markets later? That is a good question for which, at least for the moment, we have no answer. But if we take into account that, to date, the only Pixel available in Spain in the Google store is the 4th, in the best of cases we will have to take it...

"They both look the same," one person pointed out, according to Tyla. And another said: "I can't see a difference." The woman added that there's actually a £10 difference in the shoes which...
Dr. Anthony Fauci addressed questions of relaxing indoor covid restrictions and what the U.S. will look like a year from now on ABC’s This Week. Fauci gave an interview to George Stephanopoulos on Sunday, part of which they used to talk about how to overcome vaccine hesitancy around the country. At one point, Stephanopoulos referred to the fact that former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb has been saying multiple times lately that America has reached the point where indoor restrictions and mask mandates should be relaxed. To this end, Stephanopoulos asked Fauci if Gottlieb is correct in his view, and whether doing so himself would be a good way to demonstrate the benefits of getting inoculated. “I think so,” Fauci said, “and I think you’re going to probably be seeing that as we go along and as more people get vaccinated. The CDC will be, you know, almost in real time, updating their recommendations and their guidelines. But, yes, we do need to start being more liberal as we get more people vaccinated.” Fauci remained cautious though as he added...

I’D often thought about becoming a care worker, but didn’t think I could do it. Instead I worked in retail – in supermarkets, fast food restaurants and high street clothes shops – but it was always just a job, a way to earn money. I was also working evenings, so I never saw my kids, Kieren, 13, Bradley, 10, and Jamie, who is just four. Something had to change. Then I spotted an advert on Facebook for work in social care, so I spoke to the recruiter, who persuaded me to go for it. 2 Kelly became a care worker after years of working in retailI was offered a job at a local care home in October last year. At first I was scared – but I can honestly say that I loved it from the moment I set foot inside the home. I quickly realised that the time flies; you enable someone and you make such a difference to their day. Retail was backbreaking: people can be rude, and stacking shelves was exhausting. Working in social care, you’re making...

The Senate will not wait on processing a nominee to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., told “The Story" Monday. “That's what he [President Trump] campaigned on doing in 2016 and we will process that nominee without delay,” Cotton told host Martha MacCallum. “We did that not only in 2016 but in 2018, too, when there couldn't have been a clearer referendum just one month after the Brett Kavanaugh vote… The American people returned a Republican majority to the Senate to do exactly what we intend to do, which is confirm the president's eventual nominee.” COTTON SAYS SENATE WILL MOVE ON CONFIRMING GINSBURG SUCCESSOR 'WITHOUT DELAY' Cotton, whose name appeared on a shortlist of 20 potential nominees released by the White House earlier this month, said the president has “many capable” female candidates to choose from and added that he expects the nominee to be announced this week. With 43 days left before the presidential election, Cotton told MacCallum he’s certain Trump will be reelected and voters will return a Republican Senate majority. “[Americans]...
(CNN)In the world according to Donald Trump, the years bring little change.Back in 1990, when he was an aspiring monarch in the Atlantic City gambling hierarchy, his Taj Mahal casino was a mess -- plagued by slot machines that didn't work. The casino control commission shut one-third of them down -- on opening night, no less. A complete disaster. But Trump, ever the con man, had a tale in mind. When asked about it by Larry King, he just lied. "The slots were so hot," he said "They blew apart...they were virtually on fire."And the constant lies continued, virtually on fire, for decades.Within the Trump organization -- and, by extension, within his White House -- the political alchemists try to spin the lies into truths, or half-truths, or plausible truths. After Trump's misleading comments at an ABC town hall on "herd mentality" as a way to get rid of the virus, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the President addressed it "very clearly."Read MoreAnd so it goes.Except now. The proverbial slot machines are still on fire and there are some...
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — As flu season approaches, some may have a hard time discerning if their symptoms are due to the influenza or COVID-19. Both are highly infectious respiratory illnesses. Dr. Jason Chirichigno with One Medical in Beverly Hills said the symptoms of both are very similar. “We are talking fever, chills, muscle ache, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, runny eyes and runny nose,” he said. However, there is one key difference between the two. The incubation period for the flu is quick, about one to two days from exposure. With COVID-19, the incubation period can be anywhere from two days to two weeks. “And one of the symptoms that we don’t see with flu and we do see with COVID is the loss of sense of smell and taste that can be one of the big distinguishers,” Dr. Chirichigno said. Dr. Chirichigno said that early research has shown that COVID-19 is more contagious than the flu. However, during this flu season, if anyone comes down with a fever in the household, everyone should self-quarantine until the symptomatic person...
Jose Manuel Gonzalez Torres In 2017 the Peugeot 3008 won the award for Best Car of the Year in Europe (COTY). It was the key moment for SUV models, there was no other talk. No one doubted the arguments that led the jury to vote for him and the market seemed to be on the same page. Three years have passed and, after selling more than 800,000 units, it was the turn of renew slightly to 3008. The touches had to maintain an almost perfect formula between elegance, modernity and family character. An equation that has worked for her so far and that her restyling could not ignore. We are, then, before a new but not revolutionary model. Its aesthetic changes focus on the front, the light clusters, the technological equipment and the driving assistance systems. The new Peugeot 3008 will be recognizable at a glance thanks to its imposing grille, which integrates the headlights and side plastics. Fight fans will witness two of the most bitter rivals in the UFC battle it out, come Saturday. As soon as the UFC made the fight between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal official, goosebumps haunted everyone in the MMA community. The two have been very outspoken about each other, one putting the other down whenever the opportunity presents itself. Thus, the two have been keen on getting their hands at one another. And while Masvidal accepts that he would love the feeling of beating Kamaru particularly, Kamaru surprisingly has a rather different approach. In an interview with TMZ Sports, Kamaru explained the difference that facing Masvidal makes to his mindset. He said, “At the end of the day, when you’re in the training camp? And you train the way I train? You see no face. When I cross into the Octagon, I need to turn on ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’. And leave Kamaru Usman on the outside. So, I see no face by the time I’m in there anyway.” Looks like Usman is a professional to the core. The...
