    A Florida man survived for three days in a swamp after an alligator ripped off his arm while he was attempting to swim in the lake - a move he admits was 'not the smartest decision a Florida boy can make.' Eric Merda, 43, from Sarasota, was visiting the Lake Manatee Fish Camp in Myakka City on July 17 when he got lost. He said he came upon the water, and decided to swim across.     A 77-year-old Florida woman was attacked by a nearly 8-foot alligator on Saturday while walking in her gated community, authorities said. The attack took place at about 6 p.m. while the woman was walking near a pond in the gated Del Webb community in Lakewood Ranch, according to a report. A neighbor said he had never seen anything like the attack before.     Two people were injured and another died as a result of alligator attacks in Florida in the last two weeks. On July 15, one woman was walking through the Boca Royale Golf and Country Club near her home when she fell into a pond. Two alligators attacked her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders pulled her from the water. As a result, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission removed one 8-foot, 10-inch-long alligator and another 7-foot, 7-inch alligator that were suspected to be involved in the attack.     A Louisiana man who was attacked by an alligator Monday is now missing, the man's wife said. An unnamed Slidell, Louisiana, resident told the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office she was indoors when she heard a commotion at around noon on Monday, which she then discovered was a large alligator attacking her husband upon exiting her home.     VALRICO (CBSMiami) – A Florida woman was found dead in a Valrico retention pond and it appears she may have been the victim of an alligator attack, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The woman’s body was found just after 8:40 p.m. on Sunday, July 4 in Valrico, which is just east of Tampa.     A woman was attacked by an alligator Tuesday while walking her dog near a small lake in Palm Harbor, Florida, Fox 13 News reported. The victim, a 43-year-old woman, suffered serious injuries on her lower right leg and was transported to the local hospital by Pinellas County EMS, according to Fox 13 News.     A nearly eight-foot-long alligator attacked a woman who was walking her dog around a small lake in her neighborhood in Palm Harbor, Florida Tuesday, CBS Tampa affiliate WTSP-TV reports. First responders rushed her to a hospital but there was no early word on her condition of the 43 year old.
