Parents of a six-year-old boy who recently completed a full-length marathon are being condemned for making the child run alongside them in the race and are being accused of bribing him to keep moving when he was struggling. Runners must be 18 years old to participate in the Flying Pig Marathon, a 26.2-mile race in Cincinnati, Ohio. But on Sunday, Rainer, a six-year-old from Bellevue, Kentucky, completed the entire race with his parents, Ben and Kami Crawford. It took him more than 8.5 hours.  The Crawfords, a family-of-eight, who chronicle their adventures on a YouTube Channel, have a prominent presence on social media, and once wrote a book about being the largest family to hike the Appalachian Trail. But this was their first marathon as a family.  The parents and race organizers, who said they were aware of the child participating, received swift backlash online after the race.  The child's father posted on Instagram that Rainer had been 'struggling physically and wanted to take a break and sit every three minutes.'  The post continued: 'After 7 hours, we finally got to...
Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich said he cried when he lost the Republican nomination to former President Donald Trump in 2016.   'When it was over - I haven't ever told anyone this,' Kasich said on the Kasich & Klepper podcast, with guest host actress Julie Bowen of Modern Family fame. 'I went behind this building, and I cried. I had one cry.'  At the 'bitter end' of the 2016 Republican primaries, Kasich said he was flying to do a fundraiser and then thought better of it with Trump slated to win the nomination at that summer's Republican National Convention.  'I was really hoping that we were gonna block him and that people were gonna come to their senses,' Kasich recalled.  Former Ohio Gov. Former Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) admitted Thursday he “cried” after he realized former President Donald Trump would win the Republican Party’s nomination for president in 2016. The campaign began with so many candidates its initial debates needed two stages. By late spring of 2016, only Trump, Kasich and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) remained. The latter two held on, despite lagging significantly in delegates. The inevitable eventually ensued: Trump was nominated, and he went on to face Hillary Clinton in November. Many critics at the time blamed Kasich, and others, for staying in the race too long and not allowing the GOP to rally around one anti-Trump candidate. On Thursday’s Kasich & Klepper podcast with The Daily Show’s Jordan Klepper, Kasich offered some new insight about his decision to drop out of the race. Guest Julie Bowen invoked the race, and Kasich’s decision to walk away. The former governor said admitting Trump would represent the party was emotional for him. “Well, you know, I was there ’til the bitter end, and when it was over, I haven’t ever told anyone this,...
Former Ohio Gov. John Kasich (R) admitted in a recent podcast that he cried following his loss to then-candidate Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican presidential primary. “I was really hoping that we would block [Trump] and then people would come to their senses,” Kasich said on the Kasich & Klepper podcast, according to the Columbus Dispatch. “But when it was over, we got off the plane…I went behind this building, and I cried. I had one cry. Then I went to my daughter’s school – and that was really hard – and they had gotten wind of it and then they came out and gave me a big hug.” But then it was over. It was a wonderful experience.” Kasich also discussed his time as governor, saying that while he enjoyed the job, he does not miss it. “People say, ‘Do you miss being governor?’ It is a powerful position in the 7th-largest state,” he stated. “And I said no because I knew what was going to come, and the job doesn’t define me.” Kasich, who now serves as a senior contributor to CNN, has repeatedly attacked...
