A BIGFOOT hunter has admitted that something might be out there after receiving reports of alleged encounters with the legendary beast. Investigator Les O’Dell, of West Virginia, claimed people have told him that they’ve heard creatures crashing through the bushes. 5Les O'Dell claimed people have told him that they've heard creatures crash through the bushesCredit: WCHS 5West Virginia has a museum that pays homage to the iconic ape-like creature BigfootCredit: WCHS Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is an iconic ape-like creature that is said to live in wilderness areas of North America, but there has never been any independently verified and documented evidence of it existing. O’Dell told WCHS that he has become a proxy-believer after hearing countless tales. He said: “Some of them may be made up, there may be stories they’re just telling you, but when you find stories that have similarities to other stories from different areas, whether it’s across the United States or in Canada or across the world, you tend to believe a little bit more.” O’Dell believes the creatures may be the “master of...
President Joe Biden's mention of a 'new world order'  in a speech to CEOs sent QAnon believers and other conspiracy theorists on a tear from Monday night into Tuesday.  Biden was warning executives of the need to beef up their cybersecurity over concerns of a possible Russian hack in the near future during a quarterly meeting of Business Roundtable CEOs. Fears are mounting that Moscow could target the West with cyberattacks in retaliation for sending military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine to help it withstand Vladimir Putin's brutal and bloody invasion. The president said the world was at an 'inflection point' amid Putin's attack, signaling a shift he said 'occurs every three or four generations.'  'As one of the top military people said to me in a secure meeting the other day, 60 -- 60 million people died between 1900 and 1946. And since then, we’ve established a liberal world order, and that hadn’t happened in a long while,' Biden said. 'And now is a time when things are shifting. We’re going to -- there’s going to be a new...
Alan Williams’ NFL roots are with the 2001 Tampa Bay Buccaneers and one of the great influences on coach Matt Eberflus has been Rod Marinelli, whose career also began in the Tampa-2. So it’s fair to assume the Chicago Bears will be returning to a version of what they had success with during the Lovie Smith era. But Williams, the new defensive coordinator, made it clear he wants to mesh what he’s doing schematically and from a play-calling sense with the skills of his personnel. Actions will say more than words when it comes to that, but Williams in an introductory video conference call Thursday morning did not come across as a coach that is going to be rigid in his ways. What is nonnegotiable is relentless hustle that Williams believes will lead to takeaways for a defense that hasn’t gotten enough the last three seasons. From there? “The true stamp is going to be to allow the players to do what they do well,” he said. “I may come in here and say I love...

I’ve been writing books for more than 20 years and – rather horrifyingly – some of what I’ve written in the first few is no longer true. And possibly never was. Sex research is big business these days. Which means researchers now have the time and money to go back and trace where the original ‘evidence’ to support these claims came from. In an alarming number of cases, there isn’t any. A lot of the things we thought we knew about sex have no proof to back them up. We assume it’s fact simply because we’ve seen or heard it said so many times. Here’s the latest sex myths to bite the dust. Tracey Cox debunks six myths, as it's revealed a lot of the things we thought we knew about sex have no proof to back them up (file image) No-one actually knows what the average penis size is Yep. The statistic that’s always trotted out - ‘the average erect penis is five inches long’ - is nothing more than a guess. And not even a terribly good one. There is...

Every so often, “sanctuaries” are very much in the news. We keep reading and hearing about them being forced to close down due to so many reasons – passage of tighter regulations (as in Ohio), financial shortfalls, escapes or injuries by their captive animals, failure to meet minimal U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) standards, and so on. But, did these places ever deserve to be called “sanctuaries” in the first place? The Difference Between a True Sanctuary and a False Establishment When substandard facilities use this word, it takes away from true sanctuaries that strive to provide the best for their animals, as we do here at The Wildcat Sanctuary. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service defines a “sanctuary” as a tax-exempt, non-profit entity that doesn’t engage in commercial trade in big cat species, including their offspring, parts, and products made from them.  Breeding big cats and allowing direct contact with them is prohibited. Minnesota, where The Wildcat Sanctuary is located, legally defines a “wildlife sanctuary” in similar terms, adding that a sanctuary provides lifetime care for the animals. Accreditation...

PEAKY Blinders has won legions of fans across the globe for their dangerous charm. The gang of Brummies which the show centres around were, in fact, a real criminal gang. But what does 'Peaky Blinders' mean? Find out below... 2 The cast of the TV show Peaky Blinders - based on real Birmingham gangsCredit: handout What does Peaky Blinders mean? Peaky Blinders is the name of the Birmingham-based gang. Their name is said to have come from a practice in which gang members would stitch razor blades into the peak of their flat caps. In fights, they could then simply use their hats to slash the faces, eyes and foreheads of their enemies. We see the gang do this frequently in the TV series' fight scenes. Were the Peaky Blinders real? In short - yes. They were a criminal gang based in Birmingham in the late 19th century. They were one of many urban youth gangs in the era. It is much debated as to whether the Peaky Blinders were a single gang or a term that referred to a...
A comic strip about the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine against Covid-19 has managed to go viral and sow some doubts about its effectiveness and usefulness, although at the same time it contains exact statements such as that people who have received the immunization doses have to continue using a mask for the duration of the pandemic. Its content has been analyzed within the framework of the project # VACÚNAte que Damn.es and the Servimedia news agency develop against misinformation about Covid-19 vaccines with the support of Google Digital News Innovation. The cartoon represents a health care provider applying the vaccine to a patient while he asks her various questions: “Am I immune now?”, “Do I have to keep wearing a mask?”, “Do you know what you are injecting me with?” The problem is that some of the answers that are attributed to the sanitary in the comic strip are false or inaccurate. March 1 marks the beginning of Women's History Month, which takes on extra significance in 2021 because many of the centennial celebrations in 2020 to mark women's suffrage were curtailed or canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Inequalities women face were laid bare by the coronavirus -- from pay disparities, where statistics show women still make only 77 cents for every dollar earned by men, to domestic threats, as one in every three women will face gender violence in her lifetime. The fight to protect and support women continues, but also, all March, we are taking time to celebrate women and to reflect on our past and examine the path forward."I think it really is about that history does not operate in a straight line, and that it's about persistence," said Jen Gaboury, lecturer with the Hunter College Department of Women and Gender Studies. "Understanding that women are leaders, but also that women have always been leaders."Leaders, pioneers, homemakers, trailblazers -- women were essential to the founding of this nation and are essential on the path forward into its future.Yet Women's History...
The history of GameStop, Reddit and Robinhood is far from over. And not just because of the flurry of films on the subject that are in development. As we anticipated, the CEOs of Reddit and Robinhood are called to testify at the public hearing of the United States Congress to clarify some issues of the case. The CEO of Robinhood, Vlad Tenev, wanted to share some details of what will be his statement before the US legislators. In addition to, logically, share your point of view of the facts with some very interesting questions. Tenev wanted to clear up any doubts about possible Robinhood malpractice in the GameStop case. The manager insists thatthe signature blocked purchase orders to meet “regulatory deposit requirements” defined by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The regulatory requirements to which they refer are, basically, the capital needs that brokers must deposit as collateral before the Clearing House (National Securities Clearing Corporation). After managing to maintain a dignified silence for the previous three series, the courtiers at the royal palaces have now got involved in disputing the veracity of the fourth series of The Crown, with sources briefing journalists that the show is “trolling with a Hollywood budget.” Indeed, one can’t help feeling that if the producers were dealing with a more litigious family than the famously courtroom-averse Windsors, they might have slapped a loosely-based-on-a-true-story disclaimer on it along the lines of what writer and visionary-in-chief Peter Morgan has said in interviews: “Sometimes you have to forsake accuracy, but you must never forsake truth.” The fourth season of The Crown certainly rings true, particularly in the vile treatment of Princess Diana by the royal system, but, for the royal nerds among us, what about accuracy? Did certain things happen? And if they didn’t, do they count as acceptable dramatic license, conveying a more fundamental truth about the situation or characters in question? Episode 1: Gold Stick The Queen loves horses The first episode of the fourth season opens with an arresting...
CNBC’s Shepard Smith cut off President Donald Trump’s White House briefing to deliver an utterly scathing rebuke. Just before the top of the 7 p.m. ET hour Thursday, Smith broke in while the president was still delivering frantic remarks from the White House podium in which he falsely claimed Democrats are stealing the election, and made a series of wild, untrue claims. “We’re interrupting this because what the President of the United States is saying, in large part, is absolutely untrue,” Smith said. “And we’re not going to allow it to keep going. Because it’s not true.” One by one, Smith knocked down Trump claims, including, to name just a few; his accusations that pollsters intentionally skewed their numbers to suppress turnout, his boasting that there was a “red wave,” and his nebulous talk of “corruption.” “None of that is true,” Smith said, after spending five minutes systematically dismantling Trump’s claims. “Not one word.” Later in the broadcast, during an interview with Larry Sabato — director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics — Smith talked about...
Live from Music Row Monday morning on The Tennessee Star Report with Michael Patrick Leahy – broadcast on Nashville’s Talk Radio 98.3 and 1510 WLAC weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. –  host Leahy welcomed the original all-star panelist Crom Carmichael to the studio. At the end of the third hour, Carmichael discusses the importance of innovation in America by giving several examples of American innovators. He discerned between what makes the winners and losers and reasons why it is important. Leahy: We are talking about Joe Biden’s desire to get rid of shareholder capitalism, Crom. Carmichael: This is how dangerous that is and what an absolutely just terrible and stupid bimbo-ish idea. And truly it is because what Joe Biden is admitting is that he doesn’t have a clue about the process of innovation. Now, one of the great investors in my lifetime is Warren Buffet. Warren Buffet started investing in the 50s and he had a stellar track record. I mean an incredible track record for the next 50 years. But since 2008 Berkshire...
