    POMONA (CBSLA) – A 27-year-old Chino man, Matthew Paul Gonzalez, was taken into custody Saturday after stealing a big rig truck, leading police on a pursuit and crashing into a utility pole, several parked vehicles, a cinderblock wall and, ultimately, a home. 41-year-old Matthew Paul Gonzalez arrested after allegedly stealing semi-truck and crashing into a home.     PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The police commissioner of Philadelphia has suspended with intent to dismiss an off-duty police officer accused of driving under the influence when his car went out of control and crashed into a northeast Philadelphia home, hitting two residents and critically injuring one of them. Commissioner Danielle Outlaw earlier called the involvement of a police officer in such a case “appalling.” Gregory Campbell, 27, is charged with aggravated assault while driving under the influence and related charges including criminal mischief and aggravated assault by vehicle. Campbell, an officer for the past two years, was most recently assigned to the 14th district.     SHIRLEY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A 19-year-old was charged with driving while intoxicated after he flipped his car and slammed into a house on Long Island. Police said Jefersson Soysos hit a brick pillar before crashing into the front of the home just after midnight in Shirley. The person inside the house was not hurt. Soysos was taken to Long Island Community Hospital to be treated for his injuries. He’s expected to be OK.     PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A woman is rushed to the hospital, after crashing her car into a house in West Philadelphia. The crash happened just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, at Haverford Avenue and Brooklyn Street. The front of the house was badly damaged. (credit: CBS3) It’s unclear whether anyone was inside of the home at the time. There is no word on the driver’s condition.     A TEENAGE Audi driver drove off with a front door lodged in the windscreen after he crashed it into a house. Cops said he collided with another vehicle before crashing into the front porch of a house in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire on Friday night at around 7.45pm. 3The Audi driver is thought to have hit another car before ploughing into the house Even though the photo shows the roof of the car completely wrecked as well as the windscreen and the door completely covering the view for the driver the man still continued driving for several metres. The 18-year-old youth, who has not been named, was arrested on suspicion of being unfit to drive due to drink or drugs. He was also taken to hospital with head injuries but is not thought to be seriously hurt. A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Ashworth Rd, Dewsbury - Driver collided with a vehicle, then the front porch of a house - before then continuing to drive for several metres with front door attached to car.     PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A car slammed into a house in Philadelphia’s Lawndale section overnight. When police responded, they found a shooting victim dead inside the car. It happened on the 700 block of Longshore Avenue, near Oxford Avenue. Police say the victim is a man in his late 20’s or early 30’s. A Mazda minivan was left badly damaged after hitting the home. No one in the house was hurt. So far no arrests, and no word on a motive.
    CHICAGO (CBS)– A car crashed into a house in Skokie late Sunday night. The car struck a tree and then the corner of the house, in the 8600 block of Gross Point Road around 10 p.m., causing heavy structural damage. According to the Skokie Fire Department, the residents were home at the time of the crash but were safe in the back of the house. A resident told CBS 2 he heard a loud bang before the walls and ceilings started shaking. Police arrested the driver on the scene and are investigating if alcohol was involved.     ARLINGTON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – Arlington Police arrested a man for intoxication assault and failure to stop and render aid after driving into a house overnight. Police said the driver was impaired and lost control when he drove into a home in 2300 block of Skylark Drive. (credit: Arlington PD) He then ran off, but was later caught. The homeowner was in bed at the time and injured. No other details have been released. More to come.  
    A speeding driver lost control of his Jeep, rolled over, and crashed into a Rockland County home. First responders were dispatched to Spook Rock Road in Montebello at approximately noon on Wednesday, Aug. 12, after a car came to a crashing halt into an area home. Police said that the driver, who was the only person in the car, did not sustain any injuries, though the house suffered damage as a result of the crash. Crews from the Tallman Volunteer Fire Department, Rockland Paramedic Services, and Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corps also responded to the scene to assist police following the crash.
    A 60-year-old Califon man died after crashing his car into a High Bridge home, authorities said. Wayde Scheffer was heading north on West Main Street when he crossed into oncoming traffic, slamming his 2018 Jeep Cherokee into the front deck of a house around 5:20 p.m., Monday, High Bridge Police Chief Brett Bartman said. There were multiple residents inside the house but none were injured, the chief said. Scheffer did not have any passengers in his vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
