MILWAUKEE (AP) — Eric Lauer pitched seven strong innings, Rowdy Tellez and Tyrone Taylor homered, and the Milwaukee Brewers shook out of their post-trade deadline funk with a 5-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night. NL Central-leading Milwaukee had lost three straight since dealing All-Star closer Josh Hader to the Padres on Monday. Tellez hit a two-run shot in the first inning off Robert Dugger (0-1), and Taylor followed with a three-run blast in the third. Lauer (8-3) worked out of trouble early, loading the bases in the first and putting two aboard in each of the next two frames. But the Reds couldn’t cash in until Kyle Farmer’s RBI single in the fifth. Cincinnati threatened in the ninth, putting two on with one out against Trevor Gott. The Brewers then turned to Devin Willams, who fanned Matt Reynolds and Jonathan India for his seventh save of the season and his first since taking over for Hader. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/mlb and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports Copyright © 2022 The Associated Press. BLAINE, Minn. (AP) — Scott Piercy shot a 6-under 65 to share the 3M Open lead with Sungjae Im after the first round Thursday, fresh off several significant changes he made in search of a late-season boost. Tony Finau was two strokes back, with three near misses of birdie putts over his last four holes. Brice Garnett, Doug Ghim, Emiliano Grillo and Tom Hoge rounded out the group with Finau at 67. On a dry, windy, 86-degree day at the TPC Twin Cities in suburban Minneapolis, the course’s penchant for producing low scores held up once again. Playing in the second group of the day off the first tee, Piercy made 151 feet worth of putts. He birdied four of the first five holes on his back nine. The 43-year-old Piercy, who led the 3M Open in 2019 by two strokes after the first round, is one of several on-the-fringe players in the field this year seeking a late-season lift in the FedEx Cup race. Piercy arrived in Minnesota in 138th place, with the cut for the playoffs at 125...

Terrified parents grabbed their children and fled a Fourth of July parade as a gunman opened fire above the crowd in a mass shooting that left at least six people dead and dozens injured. Bone-chilling video footage obtained by DailyMail.com shows the chaotic scene in Highland Park, Illinois and the moment parade-goers are sent running for cover less than 15 minutes after the event began on Monday.  In cellphone footage shot from an upstairs apartment window above the parade route, the gunman first unleashed one long hail of bullets before stopping - presumably to reload - and then resuming fire. Abandoned chairs, strollers, and blankets - once being used by families celebrating the holiday - were left behind in the chaos.  Witnesses recalled seeing bloodied bodies on the ground in the immediate aftermath of the shooting as they frantically fled from the area.   Robert E. Crimo III, identified as a 'person of interest' in the shooting, has been arrested after an hours-long manhunt, according the Highland Park Police Department said.  He is said to have opened fire from the roof...
Joe Biden was seen Saturday afternoon strolling along the beach after he was forced to evacuate his Delaware beach home - as he remains on track to take the most vacations of any president in history. The president, 79, was snapped by FOX News donning dark-colored shorts, a navy blue polo shirt and a baseball cap as he strolled along the Delaware coast. He was flanked by a slew of Secret Service agents - each of whom also wore polo shirts as they trekked across the sand. The photo came shortly after the president and wife Jill were forced to evacuate their Rehoboth Beach vacation home after a light aircraft veered into the area. Both Biden and first lady were rushed to a local fire station following the breach, as two military jets were scrambled to escort the plane from the restricted airspace. A preliminary investigation revealed the small plane entered the restricted airspace above Biden's vacation home 'by mistake' and there was 'no threat to the President or his family,' a Secret Service spokesperson confirmed. Spotify is quietly relaunching political ads on its platform, two years after ditching the revenue source. The company originally put a pause on political ads in 2020 and the decision only affected the United States which was the only country Spotify sold the ads in. At the time, Spotify cited a lack of resources need to verify and review the ads as the reason why the company would cease advertising. Now, two years later, as the midterm elections begin to ramp up, the company has done a 180. A spokesperson for Spotify, Erin Styles said in a statement to Protocol, “Following our pause of political ads in early 2020, we have spent the past two years strengthening and enhancing our processes, systems, and tools to responsibly validate and review this content.” According to Protocol, the political ads will only be featured in the realm of podcasts and won’t yet be added to the ad-streaming music feature. This shift in strategy comes after Spotify’s top dog, Joe Rogan has received backlash for sharing his own political and cultural views on...

BALTIMORE — Josh Donaldson feels it. The 36-year-old third baseman recognizes that it takes time for him to work his way into his swing. He understands that, now in his 12th year in the big leagues, he has to balance his career with rest to stay healthy. In the last five games, it seems like he’s worked his way into that zone. Donaldson hit his fifth homer of the season in the Yankees’ 6-2 win over the Orioles at Camden Yards Monday night. It was his third home run in the last five games. In the month of April, Donaldson hit .203/.329/.362 with two homers over 20 games. In the last 12 games, Donaldson hit .311/.404/.556 with a .959 OPS and three home runs. “I feel like at the plate right now, I’ve been making pretty good decisions. When I get a good pitch to hit, I’m not missing it. Normally, that’s the difference,” Donaldson said. “And obviously with my swing, there’s movement that goes on in that and being able to be consistent with those moves is important for...
ROMAN Abramovich has been accused of blocking the final sale of Chelsea - and putting the club’s future in danger. In a remarkable cranking up of pressure, sources close to the Government have turned their fire on the Russian over the proposed sale condition. 1Roman Abramovich could be preventing Chelsea being sold over the £1.6bn loanCredit: AP Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Todd Boehly and his consortium were hopeful of completing a £2.6bn initial deal with a promise to spend a further £1.65bn on the stadium, academy and team-building by the end of this week. But the ongoing spat between Chelsea and the DCMS over the final structure of the agreement has now broken out into a serious issue. A Government insider expressed “considerable alarm” at the flare-up, suggesting the very viability of the Blues could be at threat. The source said: “There's quite serious concern in government that the deal may fall apart and that Roman Abramovich is ultimately willing to let Chelsea go under.” READ MORE ON CHELSEACHELSEA NEWS Alonso to LEAVE, Chelsea 'line up £42m Casemiro transfer' Free...
A top JPMorgan executive has told his staff they can work from home three days a week, after workers at the multinational bank complained the company was tracking their in-office ID swipes in an effort to force them to come back. Drew Cukor, an executive at the bank's artificial intelligence machine and learning and engagement wing, sent out a memo to 'CTO and TRAIN members' on Tuesday. 'The Firm has heard from many around the business...and we're making a few adjustments,' he said, according to a copy of the memo obtained by Insider. 'Effective immediately: We are now authorized to invite our workforce to two days a week in the office.' It is unclear what the team acronyms refer to. JPMorgan Chase did not immediately respond to requests for comment from DailyMail.com. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has been adamant about getting workers back to the office, even as some have talked to the media about their experiences being 'forced' back into the office by supervisors who have had the 'fear of God' put into them. But last month, Dimon conceded...

Support is on the rise for a family who lost all of their possessions in a devastating Lehigh Valley house fire. The fire broke out at 5780 South Delaware Drive in Lower Mount Bethel Township around 8 a.m. on Monday, March 28, Pennsylvania State Police said in a release. In addition to ravaging the two-story home, the fire also damaged two cars that were parked in the driveway, police said. More than $1,100 had been raised on GoFundMe as of Tuesday morning for the victims, Jocelyn Marks and her mother, Drea, who campaign creator Madison Hathaway says “lost everything.” While the family is physically unharmed, they now have to rebuild and find housing for their two large dogs, cats, and goats, the campaign says. “I am putting together this GoFundMe for one of my closest friends, Jocelyn Marks and her mother Drea,” Hathaway writes. “Her mom's house burned down earlier today in a tragic house fire that has caused the family to lose everything…They're all wonderful people and I can't imagine how hard these next few days will be,...
Hillary Clinton lauded Eric Adams' approach to policing during an interview with the New York City Mayor on Tuesday's episode of her podcast 'You and Me Both,' during which she said Adams' disregard for left-wing critics is 'music to my ears.' The two spoke as the Big Apple's crime rates still soared by 38% when Adams said that many from his party don't focus on intervention when it comes to combatting the surge in violent acts like the recent attacks on subway straphangers and the stabbing of two MoMa staffers.  Even with the best preventative resources and long-term plans, Adams argued that a strong police force is necessary to address ongoing violence throughout NYC – despite opposition to his plans to bolster law enforcement like bringing back plain clothes officers. 'I am not going to allow the numerical minority that our the loudest to dictate how we are going to keep my city safe now and what we are going to do in the long term,' he said, before decrying criticism he'd received on social media. Sean McVay and Zac Taylor are meeting in Super Bowl 56, and for their friends, it’ll be a night of conflicting emotions at their homes. LOS ANGELES — How do you pick between friends? How can someone enjoy watching the pinnacle of their profession, knowing someone they care for will be elated by game’s end, only to understand another will be crushed? On Super Bowl Sunday, two coaches face that situation. For Liam Coen and Shane Waldron, the only thing guaranteed about Super Bowl LVI is the simultaneous rush of ecstasy and the despair of agony. Both Coen and Waldron were assistants under Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, while also working alongside former Rams offensive coordinator and current Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor. The quartet only spent one year together, but the friendships run deep. In 2018, McVay assembled a staff in which Taylor ran the offense, while Coen served as the wide receivers coach and Waldron was titled the passing game coordinator. In the years since, Taylor went to run the Bengals while Coen and Waldron...

The Chicago Bears placed rookie quarterback Justin Fields on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, four days before he was slated to start the season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. Fields said in November he is vaccinated, so his placement on the list likely is the result of a positive test. In new rules released in late December, the NFL mandates a five-day isolation period for players who test positive, with a possible return as long as they have been without a fever for 24 hours and symptoms are improving. Players who are vaccinated can return sooner by returning more than one negative test, but such quick returns haven’t been the norm with the Bears. Fields practiced in full Wednesday as he was gearing up to make his first start in three weeks. He had missed the previous two games as he recovered from an ankle injury and also missed two games in November and December with cracked ribs. If he doesn’t return for the finale, he will have missed five of the Bears’ final seven games...

Megyn Kelly slammed the idea that Oprah Winfrey’s tell-all interview with Meghan Markle was “organic” and said it was “two actresses putting on a show.” “I will say I love when people are like ‘Oprah she got so much out of her,’ I’m like, ‘are you people stupid?'” Kelly shared Tuesday during “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast on Sirius XM radio. “Do you understand Oprah Winfrey does not sit down for an interview without having a very top level producer sit down with the person she’s going to be interviewing who gets all the news nuggets and then gives them to Oprah,” she added. “And then Oprah’s job, as an actress, which she is, is to make it look organic,” Kelly continued. “These are two actresses just putting on a show. The whole thing was choreographed. Nothing there was organic, absolutely not one thing. By Michael Hurley, CBS Boston BOSTON (CBS) — Last year, when Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski passed Steve Young and Jerry Rice to move into second place all time for most touchdowns by a quarterback and receiver, it looked to be a nice accomplishment in and of itself. Surely, though, Brady and Gronkowski had no shot of reaching the No. 1 spot. Yet after five-plus quarters of football in 2021 … are we sure? However, the NHS website has some more thorough guidance to keep you as protected as possible from the sun's rays. It says most people don't apply enough sunscream, suggesting that adults should use around two teaspoons for your head, arms and neck. And if you are going to be out in the sun long enough to risk burning sun cream actually needs to be applied twice before you leave the house. The first step is done 30 minutes before you plan to head out, and the second application...

The U.S. Surgeon General is warning Americans that COVID-19 misinformation is an 'urgent threat' to public health as cases continue to rise across the country and vaccination rates continue to stagnate. In his first advisory serving under the Biden administration, which released on Thursday, Dr Vivek Murthy said that false information about COVID-19 - and the vaccines to combat it - put 'lives at risk.' It suggests that misinformation has impeded efforts to get the U.S. population vaccinated, led people to mistrust health officials and have caused unproven treatments to be promoted.   The advisory states that combatting disinformation is a 'moral and civic responsibility' for not just individual citizens but also institutions.  'Health misinformation is an urgent threat to public health. It can cause confusion, sow mistrust, and undermine public health efforts, including our ongoing work to end the COVID-19 pandemic,' Murthy said in a statement.  'As Surgeon General, my job is to help people stay safe and healthy, and without limiting the spread of health misinformation, American lives are at risk...tackling this challenge will require an all-of-society approach, but...
Glastonbury Police Hollister Tryon. Hollister Tryon is a former Connecticut high school student who was arrested after police allege he put a quote from Nazi leader Adolf Hitler in a yearbook and attributed it to George Floyd, who died under the knee of convicted ex-Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in 2020. Glastonbury Police also said he snuck a reference to the Boston marathon bomber into the yearbook. Tryon, 18, was arrested on a warrant Friday, July 9, and charged with two counts of third-degree computer crime, according to the Hartford Courant. Tryon is accused of changing two students’ entries when police allege he illegally accessed a database that students used to submit their yearbook quotes, the newspaper reported. School officials made the discovery after distribution of the 2021 yearbooks had already begun in May, the Courant reported. School administrators issued a recall on the yearbooks and notified police, the newspaper said.

A Spanish father drugged and killed his two young daughters at his Tenerife home before putting their bodies in holdalls and throwing them into the Atlantic Ocean with an anchor attached, police said today. Investigators believe that Spanish father Tomas Gimeno gave his daughters Olivia, six, and Anna, one, sleeping pills and then killed them at his home, before disposing of their bodies and killing himself. He vanished with the girls three months ago after attacking his ex-wife's new boyfriend, sparking a nationwide manhunt in Spain supported by celebrities including Cristiano Ronaldo's partner Georgina Rodriguez. It comes after coroners confirmed that the body of Gimeno's six-year-old daughter Olivia was found in a sports bag 3,200 down on the Atlantic Ocean seabed off Tenerife on Thursday. The bag had been weighed down with an anchor.  The discovery - made three nautical miles off the coast, between the port of Güímar and Santa Cruz de Tenerife - has also sparked fears that the body of one-year-old Anna may never be found after another holdall was found nearby, but with nothing inside.  Overnight...
Getty New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore breaks away from a tackler with Ole Miss on November 10, 2018. In the latest round of OTA interviews, the media spoke with special teams coordinator Brant Boyer, one of the few New York Jets’ coaches that was here under Adam Gase. The former NFL linebacker Boyer has actually been with the Jets for two head coaching cycles before Robert Saleh, making this his third staff with Gang Green. Besides the unimpressive kicking battle in Florham Park (more on that tomorrow), one remark from Boyer really stood out in his press conference. This probably won’t surprise you, but it involved praising rookie wide receiver, Elijah Moore. The Ole Miss product has been lighting up OTAs with tweet-worthy plays left, right and center. Here was yet another from The Athletic‘s Connor Hughes this afternoon. Elijah Moore is catching touchdowns in the red zone again. MSNBC is facing criticism over an on-screen graphic reading 'Texas Two Step' that appeared over an image of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair. Known in the industry as a chyron or lower third, the graphic appeared on Tuesday's episode of Andrea Mitchell Reports during a teaser for a segment on Texas Republicans' push for tougher election laws.  The pairing of the name of the 'two-step' country-western dance with an image of Abbott in his wheelchair drew instant outrage and accusations that MSNBC was mocking the Republican governor's disability. 'No class,' remarked Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, in a tweet. A spokesperson for MSNBC did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the incident from DailyMail.com on Wednesday.  Senator Ted Cruz, a Texas Republican, led criticism of MSNBC after the network paired a graphic reading 'Texas Two Step' over Gov. I’m kind of used to coming into places that have already been established and acting like, ‘Hi guys, I’m here.’” And coming in at the end is not a bad place to start -- especially when it is a scene-stealing or notable part. After breaking out with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the 28-year-old British actress has steadily been on her own meteoric rise, thanks to subsequent roles in the Netflix series, The End of the F**king World, and Education, the fifth film in Steve McQueen’s Amazon anthology series Small Axe. States in the western U.S. are seeing a rise in coronavirus cases as younger people get hospitalized and vaccination rates decline. In Oregon, adults in their 20s make up the largest-share of case, about 21 percent, causing the seven-day rolling average in hospitalization to spike by 37 percent. What's more, daily vaccinations have dropped by 54 percent over the course of just one week.  This has led Governor Kate Brown to announced that 15 counties in Oregon are moving in the 'extreme risk' for COVID-19 category, which imposes restrictions that include banning indoor restaurant dining. Some of the Oregon's biggest cities, including Portland, Salem, Bend and Eugene, are in the counties that will be in the most dire category, effective Friday.  Similarly, in Nevada, one-fifth of all COVID-19 infections are now in residents ages 20 to 29, as more patients are hospitalized. In addition, average daily COVID-19 vaccinations have plummeted 25 percent in the last two weeks. Oregon and Nevada are following trends seen across the U.S. as the seven-day rolling average of vaccinations dropped below three million for the...
Dustin Johnson’s reign as Masters champion lasted only through two rounds of the 2021 tournament. Johnson missed the cut at this year’s event after winning the 2020 Masters last November. He fell two strokes outside the cut line after playing 36 holes in 5 over par. MORE: Masters live leaderboard He zeroed in on one reason why he won’t be playing the weekend at Augusta National. “The three-putts killed me. You take all the three-putts away, I’m 1 under,” Johnson said, per PGATour.com, which noted that DJ hit 64 putts over his two rounds, fifth-most in the field. “That was kind of the difference,” he added. “My speed was awful. I just left it short from 10 feet there on the last hole. I just didn’t have a good bead on the speed the last two days.” Firm greens have been a challenge for the entire field this week. Johnson three-putted the par-3 16th Friday to harm his chances. He also hit two shots into the water in the final four holes, per Golf.com. The second was his tee shot at 18, where he needed...

Alex Rodriguez flew back to the Dominican Republic — where his fiancée, Jennifer Lopez, is filming a new movie — to continue to work on the couple’s strained relationship, Page Six has learned. “They’re doing what they said they’re going to do,” a source told us Monday. “You have to be together to do that.” We hear that A-Rod has trips scheduled to the D.R. to visit J.Lo every 10 days or so — and this weekend’s visit was one of his planned trips. “Clearly they’re putting the work in,” the source added. Earlier this month, Page Six learned the pair had broken off their engagement after reports of Rodriguez’s inappropriate relationship with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy circulated online. However, less than 24 hours later, the co uple stayed up all night working through their issues and seemed to have a change of heart. Since the brief split, Rodriguez, 45, has flown twice to the Dominican Republic, where Lopez, 51, is filming “Shotgun Wedding” alongside her heartthrob co-star Lenny Kravitz. Two of the judges even awarded Blachowicz a 10-8 in the final round, with Adesanya winning just one round on each of the scorecards. There was a mixed response on social media as to whether The Last Stylebender should have lost on such a wide decison. One user tweeted: "I think the fight was much closer than the scorecards, the commentary was so biased towards Adesanya though." Another commented: "An absolute disgrace. Issy won that first round clearly, and a 10-8 in the 5th?! Seriously?! Round 4 is the only one you...
