Fashion is a matter of person taste, but this collection of unusual outfits will have you wondering who would ever wear them, or more importantly, who designed them?  The trivia website 247mirror.com has collated a series of hilarious fashion fails from around the world that prove there's no accounting for taste.  Someone has lovingly crafted their rather unfazed cat a kit-kini out of pink wool, which must have been difficult, considering the anatomy of a feline.  Another feature is a metal frog bikini which one Redditor has posted to the site and dubbed 'the cursed bikini'.  Some of the designs are innovative, but one Japanese nail artist lost her pearls when she came up with that oyster design! There are some heel-less shoes that remind us of Lady Gaga's footwear style statements back in 2010.  Raving mad about ramen! There's nothing wrong with loving a bowl of noodles but this man spotted at a US grocery store, took it a little too far with a full body printed tracksuit professing his love for the cupboard staple Odd trotters. Daring front-slit skirt suits revealing a layer of lace. Sculpted jackets worn over voluminous trousers.  Exquisite coats in a rainbow of pastel shades. Tweed was back in force on the Chanel catwalk this month. Handwoven in a fresh colour palette — featuring candy pinks, baby blues and rich purples — the fabric has had a 21st-century makeover with even the famous Little Black Jacket reworked in a shimmery black weave. Chanel tweed — and the tweed jacket in particular — is perhaps the best-loved and best known of all Coco Chanel’s legendary creations and its appearance nods at the rich heritage of the French design house. But tweed’s renaissance also has a particular poignancy, since threaded through its many incarnations is the story of a love affair which revolutionised fashion history. For it was when Coco Chanel was staying at the Highland home of her lover, the Duke of Westminster, in 1928 that she first fell in love with the fabric.  Chanel tweed — and the tweed jacket in particular — is perhaps the best-loved and best known of all...

PARIS (AP) — Designer Gabriela Hearst brandished her green mindedness by setting her Chloe show at Paris Fashion Week on Thursday inside a famous Parisian greenhouse. Yet in the bare sands of Parc Andre Citroen, it was stars such as Demi Moore and Maria Sharapova, instead of flowers, that seemed to bloom. Here are some highlights of Thursday’s fall-winter 2022 ready-to-wear shows. CHLOE’S TEXTURE-RICH ECOLOGY The Uruguay-born Chloe designer has made ecology the front and center of her tenure of Chloe thus far. Thursday’s show was no exception set on the sand swept interiors of a Parisian greenhouse and designed in the colors of the climate crisis. Bright tangerine orange, vermilions and reds against blacks evoked a forest destroyed by fire, while pale hues in whites, creams and beiges symbolized melting glaciers and drought. The pared down silhouettes — that played on gently contrasting textures — also drew inspiration from the environment via cinema. The muse of Franco Zeffirelli’s 1973 movie “Brother Son, Sister Moon” chronicling the life of the Patron Saint of Ecologists spawned puff sleeves, simple lines, scallop...

From Birkenstocks with tube socks to clunky trainers and baggy cargo pants, a stylist has revealed why Gen Z trend-setters are choosing 'deliberately genderless' clothing in a bid to signpost their 'woke' ideals to the world through fashion.  The latest A-list trend has seen celebs like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid embrace the world of baggy Hawaiian shirts, sleeveless knits, beanies and anoraks to create a more relaxed, gender-fluid aesthetic.  UK celebrity stylist Miranda Holder, who founded The Feel Good Fashion Coach, told FEMAIL believes the rise in 'oversized and rather shapeless' garments is because the younger generation are moving into a 'woke' era of fashion and don't want to be associated with brands who make clothes for specifically 'men or women'. The stylist, who has worked with a variety of high-profile names including Little Mix and Boy George, says the younger generation are 'voting with their wallets' to introduce a world of non-binary fashion.  Bella Hadid donned an eye-popping ensemble featuring a pastel multicoloured beanie with a canary yellow top during an outing in New York in December  Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall...

Fashion house Dolce and Gabbana sold $5.7 million worth of clothing and jewelry despite some of it existing only as a digital file. The Collezione Genesi collection designed by Italian fashion icons Domenico Dolce comprised nine pieces. All were offered as non-fungible tokens - original digital files which cannot be traded, and which are increasingly seen as a viable form of art. Five were also offered in physical form - two dresses, a suit, and two jewel-studded crowns. Buyers of the digital-only items were also offered an 'experiential' purchase, such as a trip to the fashion giant's design studios.    The most valuable piece of clothing sold at the auction was the 'green glass suit' that sold for $1,199,916.01 at the online auction, or 351.384 in cryptocurrency ether, known as ETH, according to the UNXD site, which ran the auction.  That suit was bought by London-based e-commerce firm Boson Protocol. American fashion designer and filmmaker Tom Ford, 60, attributes his long-lasting romance with journalist Richard Buckley, 72, to true love and respect. Ford, who secretly married Buckley in 2014 after 27 years of dating, says he knew the journalist was 'the one' from the moment they met. 'I went to a fashion show and this silver-haired guy was staring at me with these piercing water-blue eyes. It scared me because I absolutely saw and knew my entire future,' Ford recalled in a 2016 interview ahead of their 30-year-anniversary, MSN reports. (CNN)No one should be surprised that a Met Gala with a theme centering on America itself resulted in one of the more contradictory, controversial red carpets the event has ever seen. Holly ThomasThe Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala's "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion" hosted some attendees Monday night, who seemed delighted to play along but played it relatively safe. The frequently outrageous Megan Thee Stallion smoldered, with hair in soft waves, wearing an old-Hollywood-inspired dress by Coach, a solidly US-based designer. Lil Nas X served up a triumvirate of brilliant golden looks; the second, a ripped suit of armor, coming with strong (but welcome) C-3PO vibes. Lorde wafted about in an ethereal Statue of Liberty-shaped headdress. But one Met Gala newbie, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and one old-timer, Kim Kardashian, were especially determined to make profound, if conflicting, statements. Ocasio-Cortez made her Met Gala debut in a long white off-shoulder mermaid gown, with "Tax The Rich" scribed across the back in massive, flag-red letters. It was explicit, as close as you could come to having a...

Their banishment to fashion Siberia could not have been more complete and final. And it was superstar Elton John delivering the killer blow: ‘Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce & Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana,’ he wrote. The reason for his outrage?  Elton has two children via a surrogate with his husband David Furnish, and in 2015 designer Domenico Dolce described children born through IVF as ‘synthetic’, adding that they ‘oppose gay adoption’ and that IVF pregnancies were ‘chemical offsprings and rented uterus’. Madonna and Victoria Beckham were among other celebrities to condemn the comments.  Surely, it was all over for the fashion brand? It was impossible to think back then that just six, short years later, it would be as if those poisonous, destructive words had never been uttered.  From the acres of coverage given to Kitty Spencer’s Dolce & Gabbana wedding wardrobe, when she wore five of their gowns, to the Venetian fashion show extravaganza this week featuring an array of A-Listers including Jennifer Lopez and...
Among the many well-wishers sending Meghan Markle public congratulations on her recent 40th birthday, there was one most notable exception. Long-time friends such as Meghan’s make-up artist Daniel Martin sent effusive, gushing messages (Happiest Birthday my love!), yet the woman once considered her BFF, or Best Friend Forever, remained silent. In public, at least. And as celebrities including singer Adele and fashion designer Stella McCartney rushed to endorse Meghan’s ‘40x40’ initiative – which encouraged people to donate 40 minutes of their time to mentor women re-entering the workplace – her one-time ‘ride or die’ friend and stylist Jessica Mulroney posted... nothing. Mulroney, 41, regularly updates her 416,000 Instagram followers on things as mundane as her daily workouts and what her children eat for supper, which made the birthday silence all the more surprising. Throw in a mysterious – and quickly deleted – post on Mulroney’s Instagram about friends who ‘distance’ themselves, and it’s little wonder that some are starting to wonder if the once close relationship between Mulroney and the Duchess of Sussex might have started to unravel. Fashion is one of the ways in which men and women all over the world can express themselves freely. We don’t really think about it every day now, but at one time women were expected to conform to the way society wanted them to dress. This meant long dresses, long sleeves, and corsets. The 1920s was the first time she had “thrown caution to the wind” and dressed the way she wanted. Not in the way men, or their parents, or society would either For the most part, it was young women who started the trend of short, shapeless dresses. They also started bobbing their hair and wearing makeup. This was one of the first times and ways that young girls rebelled. Their new style of dressing gave them a sense of freedom. ONE of those “over 50s” catalogues dropped through my letterbox the other day. And it was full of sludge-coloured elasticated trousers and sturdy Velcro shoes. 9As one of those 'over 50s' catalogues dropped through my letterbox, it went straight in the bin It went straight in the bin with all the others. At least one person was killed and several more were injured following a robbery attempt at a Hollywood Hills home belonging to Fashion Nova CEO Richard Saghian in California early Friday morning. A shooting happened just before 2am on Blue Jay Way during a robbery attempt, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Preliminary information indicated that three men in their 20s approached three victims, said Officer Jeffrey Lee, a police headquarters spokesman. The suspects allegedly robbed the men of high-end items before a third person, a security guard, attempted to intervene.  During the course of the apparent robbery, the three victims were struck by gunfire. One of the victims -the security guard - returned fire, Lee said.  A party may have been taking place at the home at the time of the robbery attempt, though that has not been confirmed.
