Johnny Depp's legal team suppressed a mountain of evidence including therapist notes and texts detailing abuse which may have won her the case, according to Amber Heard's lawyer. Representatives for the Aquaman actress said they will appeal Wednesday's defamation ruling and multi-million dollar damages handed by a court in Fairfax County, Va. Attorney Elaine Bredehoft said yesterday: 'We had an enormous amount of evidence that was suppressed in this case that was in the UK case. Lawyer Elaine Bredehoft appeared on 'Today' on Thursday and said that Heard has 'excellent grounds' to appeal 'It's a horrible message. It's a setback, a significant setback because that's exactly what it means,' Bredehoft said of the verdict 'The court found there — and we weren’t allowed to tell the jury this — but the court found that Mr Depp had committed at least 12 acts of domestic violence, including sexual violence against Amber.' Amber Heard took advantage of Johnny Depp because she wanted to boost her fledgling acting career, the actress's former private investigator said. Hollywood 'fixer' Paul Baresi, 74, was at the 'frontline' of the defamation cases between the couple and was hired by Heard, 36, to dig up dirt on Depp, 58, before his UK defamation case. Johnny Depp won his defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard on Wednesday and was awarded $15million.  During a three-month investigation Baresi interviewed 100 people across the US and Europe who worked with Depp on films dating back 30 years. Yet when Baresi couldn't find any dirt he was fired by the Heard. However, the P.I. from Rancho Cucamonga, California — who was once hired to investigate unproven claims that Tom Cruise had a gay affair — had ignited a fascination in himself and continued investigating Depp. From some of Depp's closest friends he learned the A-lister was surrounded by so-called pals who leeched off him financially and emotionally. Baresi told MailOnline: 'When Amber hired me she wanted proof that Johnny was a serial abuser for...
The hashtag #MePoo began trending on Twitter after the verdict for the Depp v. Heard defamation case was announced on Wednesday. Actress Amber Heard lost the defamation case to actor Johnny Depp, for whom the jury awarded a total of $15 million in damages. Depp sued Heard for $50 million, claiming that a 2018 Washington Post op-ed — in which she described as a victim of domestic abuse — has harmed his movie career. Heard countersued for $100 million. During the trial, the two made wild and shocking allegations against one another. In one instance, Depp claimed that Heard had defecated in his bed after an argument, causing many on social media to dub the Aquaman actress “Amber Turd.” On the witness stand, Heard admitted to there having been defecation left in Depp’s bed, but blamed it on a teacup Yorkshire Terrier, claiming the dog had “bowel control issues.” Watch below: After the six-week televised trial — featuring countless hours of testimony and courtroom drama — came to an end, the jury found that a statement accusing Depp of...

Today host Karl Stefanovic has offered his two cents on the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial, which came to a dramatic conclusion on Wednesday after a jury ruled her 2018 article in the Washington Post was defamatory of her ex-husband. Stefanovic, 47, who previously described the trial as an unedifying spectacle that should have taken place behind closed doors instead of broadcast around the world, said Depp will most likely make a career comeback after being vindicated in court. But he doubts Depp - who was in England when the verdict was delivered - will ever work with a PR-conscious Hollywood studio like Disney again given some of the admissions he made about his private life, including his heavy drinking and drug use. The jury found both Heard and Depp defamed each other, but that she was guilty of defaming him more.  She was ordered to pay him $15million in damages in total.  Despite the fact that Johnny was found guilty on some counts and ordered to pay him $2million in damages, it was a clear courtroom victory for Depp.  He is in the UK and was spotted in a pub on Wednesday as the verdict was coming down.  Heard was in court and kept her head down as the verdict was read aloud. She has since released a statement through her attorneys to say the verdict is a setback for domestic violence victims.  Social media seems to be mostly on the side of Depp; the hashtag #TruthWins is now trending as is He Won.

British model Kate Moss will testify her ex-boyfriend Johnny Depp 'caught her and tended to her' after she slipped while wearing flip flops and fell down some steps in Jamaica, sources have claimed. Moss, 48, who dated Depp from 1994 until 1997, is set to appear at the actor's defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard on Wednesday. The famously-private model, who rarely discusses her personal life, will be testifying publicly in support of Depp and is expected to shut down Heard's claim the 58-year-old pushed Moss down the stairs. A source familiar with the case told the New York Post Moss will talk about an incident when she 'was walking down some stairs in Jamaica'. 'She was wearing flip flips and she slipped on the last two stairs. Johnny caught her and tended to her.' Warning: This article contains graphic images. Amber Heard’s legal team opened the seventh week of the civil defamation trial between her and ex-husband Johnny Depp on Monday with a pair of expert witnesses, including a trauma surgeon who cast doubt on Depp’s account of how he lost his fingertip in 2015. Richard Moore, an orthopedic trauma surgeon from North Carolina specializing in hand and wrist injuries, said that photographs and medical X-rays he reviewed were “not consistent” with Depp’s version of events. As jurors looked at a photograph of Depp’s bloodied and sheared-off fingertip, with the fingernail jutting up, Moore said the fingernail being intact—plus the absence of other cuts and injuries to Depp—contradicted the actor’s claim that a bottle flung by Heard shattered and sliced the digit. “You would anticipate in the setting of a glass explosion like that, where there’s multiple fragments and the tip of the finger cut off—you would anticipate that there’ll be other lacerations,” Moore said. Depp’s lawsuit alleges that Heard “devastated” his career after she wrote a 2018 Washington Post op-ed that did not...

Testimony from former members of Johnny Depp’s inner circle was presented to jurors on Thursday, detailing the extent of the actor’s drug and alcohol problems, and how they may have impacted his ability to land roles long before he says Amber Heard tagged him as an abuser. Depp had a habit of “showing up late to set consistently on virtually every movie,” Tracey Jacobs, Depp’s former long-time talent agent, testified via video deposition played in a Virginia courtroom Thursday. “I would get yelled at. I never said to him, ‘You’re a difficult client.’ But I was very honest with him and said you’ve got to stop doing this, it’s hurting you. And it did.” Jacobs was one of three witnesses called by Heard’s team to push back on the narrative that the actress “devastated” Depp’s career when she penned a 2018 Washington Post op-ed describing herself as a domestic-violence survivor two years after seeking a restraining order against him. Heard has since counter-sued Depp, claiming that his $50 million civil defamation lawsuit and his legal team defamed her by alleging...

On Monday, Heard insisted that “none” of her op-ed was written and published with the intention of harming Depp’s reputation, stating “It’s not about Johnny. The only one who thought it was about Johnny is Johnny.” “It’s about me, it’s about what happened to me after Johnny,” the actress insisted. “It’s about what happened to me after I escaped my marriage — the only one who made it about him, ironically, is Johnny.” But during cross examination on Tuesday, one of Depp’s attorneys, Camille Vasquez, pointed out lines from Heard’s op-ed, one of which read...
