AN ELDERLY British couple have been found dead in the swimming pool of their holiday home in France. A man and woman in their 80s were discovered dead last night at their second home in Gignac, Hérault, in the south of France. 1The property is in Gignac in the south of FranceCredit: Getty The cause of death is currently unknown and an investigation has been opened. Their neighbours who were meant to be coming round for dinner raised the alarm, French media reported. When they did not hear from the English couple, they entered the property to discover two bodies floating in the pool. The couple regularly spent their holidays at the "opulent" property. The local mayor who knew them described both as: "very nice people who came many times a year and who occasionally participated in the town's activities". An autopsy will determine the cause of death, but there were no signs of a break-in or theft in the house. The most senior of Luxembourgian royals are finding themselves in the hot seat after spending Christmas abroad.  Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, both 64, spent Christmas in their Biarritz near the border home in France, 720 miles away near the border with Spain, at their 'secret' retreat.  The public found out when Duke Henri himself remarked that he was in Biarritz on December 24 when he co-signed a new set of new sanitary restrictions aiming to curb the spread of Covid-19.  Although the couple did not break any rules, their getaway has since been criticised by national newspaper Luxemburger Wort which accused the pair of 'setting a bad example'. There are currently no rules restricting travel outside Luxembourg, however, the country instated a curfew from 9pm to 6am everyday, which prevents people being in public spaces aside from essential reasons such as seeking medical care.  Non-essential retailers are shut until 10th January, while hospitality venures are closed until 15th.   Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, both 64, pictured, found themselves...

Chris Varjabedian’s first stop after picking up his grandmother Zizi from her nursing facility was the salon. She hadn’t left the Mission Hills nursing home since March, before the COVID-19 pandemic erupted locally, and needed to get her hair and nails done if she was going to be home — finally — for the big holiday. “She was on Cloud Nine, like being in Disneyland,” said Varjabedian, 34. “She’s really happy and in good spirits, and grateful to spend Thanksgiving with her family.” Limited outdoor visits and calls from behind windows just hadn’t been enough for Varjabedian, who stops by Ararat Nursing Facility every Sunday to spend time with his grandmother — whom he got extra close with after his father’s death. So, after the better part of a year apart and a family decision that ensuring Zizi’s mental health was worth the risk of bringing her home, they did just that on Wednesday. “It’s so rewarding,” said his mother, Suzy Varjabedian, of seeing Zizi light up at the chance of being with family again. In a normal year, Thanksgiving...

Though Denver Public Schools will be shut down until October 16, the Denver Public Library is just starting a soft reopening, and many workers for the City and County of Denver are doing their gigs from home, Halloween is still happening. The holiday comes as coronavirus cases rise nationally and President Donald Trump, who is dealing with COVID-19, mugs as though he's doing fine and encourages residents of the United States not to be scared. But plenty of people are, especially as they contemplate kids and trick-or-treat activities. And so the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment has released a set of guidelines regarding what people can do to reduce their risk of transmitting or catching the virus as they celebrate Halloween. The guidelines are based on the county's current status on the state's COVID-19 Dial Dashboard, where Denver falls somewhere in the middle, under Safer at Home, Level 2 Concern, with enough cases to require restrictions but not enough to shut things down outright. The DDPHE recommends that kids trick-or-treat with people they live with, and stay six feet away from other...
