The mother of Gabby Petito said Brian Laundrie lied about why he killed her daughter in the notebook confession found on his remains. Speaking on the Today show Nichole Schmidt called Laundrie's purported confession that he killed Petito as an act of mercy after she grievously injured herself an 'absolute' lie. 'That's ridiculous. We know how she died' she said, calling Laundrie's claims '100% untrue.' She said the confession story he wrote in his notebook was merely a part of the 'good guy' character he always masqueraded as. 'That was his character, even in his last moments he wanted to make sure he looked like the good guy.' Schmidt previously shared an image on Twitter that said 'narcissists rewrite history', along with hashtags including 'the truth will be revealed', 'selfish' and 'justice for Gabby.' Petito's remains were found in Grand Teton National Park in September after she vanished in August while on a vlogging road trip with Laundrie. Investigators determined she died by manual strangulation and had been dead three to four weeks. Her death was ruled as a...

ATHENS—The suspicious deaths of three girls from the same family in just three years has shocked Greek society over the past few months. But what started as a tragic story of an ill-fated young family soon turned out to be one of the most horrible cases of alleged murder the country has seen in recent years. After months of speculation, Roula Pispirigkou, the 33-year-old mother of the family was charged with killing all three of her daughters, one of whom had survived childhood cancer. She allegedly suffocated her two younger children, and then police believe she killed her older daughter Georgina by allegedly giving her a fatal dose of Ketamine—originally an anesthetic drug usually used by veterinarians on animals. Cops re-examined the deaths of the two youngest kids once they saw evidence that the eldest child was murdered. Pispirigkou is also charged with attempting to murder Georgina months before she finally died, in an alleged attack which left her quadriplegic. According to the prosecutors Antonis Eleftherianos and Apostolos Andreou, who have taken under consideration several testimonies of doctors,...

The doctor compared Noah's injuries to having fallen from a multiple-story building and being "flung by the feet against a wall." Noah had suffered many other injuries before his death, according to his autopsy, which revealed a pattern of abuse. He sustained broken ribs and a broken jaw...

After spending over a year attempting to implicate overwhelmingly safe and effective COVID-19 vaccines in as many deaths and injuries as possible, you’d think pandemic truthers would be running low on novel fear-mongering narratives to peddle. But earlier this month, influencers in this space identified a totally new and unexpected alleged vaccine victim: a gorilla. Until last month, Martha, a 32-year-old western lowland gorilla, lived at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, Texas. According to a slew of COVID truther articles, newsletters, and social-media posts, she was a happy, healthy mother—until zoo staff senselessly injected her with a COVID-19 vaccine. Then she died suddenly and unexpectedly of multiple organ failure, stemming from an undetected fibrosing heart disease. Which, to anti-vax eyes, was clearly caused by the jab. (It wasn’t). This is a compelling narrative for many in the truther crowd. It seems to signal a new level or type of so-called COVID tyranny, and involves a uniquely tragic victim—a sweet, endangered animal. Yet for all its novel elements, this tale still appears to be grounded in long-standing truther tropes about...

Despina Prodromidis, of Yonkers, recently sat down with actress Jada Pinkett Smith on her streaming show, Red Table Talk, for an episode centered around the national fentanyl epidemic. Through tears, Prodromidis recounted the unimaginable moment on Easter 2021 when doctors informed her that her 15-year-old daughter, Olivia Green, had died after taking a counterfeit Percocet. "I was like, 'Is Olivia okay?' and they just put their heads down," Prodromidis says in the clip. "And they shook their heads and said, 'we're sorry, we tried everything.'" She told the panel she had never heard the word 'fentanyl' before.  "I know what the word 'overdose' means, you abuse drugs. We're not talking about the same Olivia. My Olivia is a little girl... she doesn't use drugs," Prodromidis said.Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid that experts say is similar to morphine, but is 80 to 100 times stronger. It's used in hospitals to treat pain during and after surgery. But the drug is also abused, with...

DEAR MISS MANNERS: My sister is a deeply unhappy person, always on the lookout for some reason to be offended. Everyone in the family has always tiptoed around her and tried to read her mind, lest we failed to fulfill her unspoken expectations. We all struggled to be absolutely perfect in order to keep the peace and avoid her wrath. Of course, it did not work. Somebody seeking reasons to be angry and bitter will always find them. One by one, she chose estrangement from all of us, though her hatred always burned hottest toward me and our mother. Mom really struggled with the hurt and embarrassment of the situation. She was always a very private person and did not want to be the subject of gossip, so the situation was never discussed outside the circle of people who had been rejected by my sister. Only I knew what Mom was really going through. Related Articles Advice | Miss Manners: The men are ‘Doctor,’ but I’m called by my first name Advice | Miss Manners:...
