President Biden hacked his way through remarks before signing a $280 billion bill to boost domestic semiconductor chip production and compete with China on Tuesday morning. The president, 79, who finally tested negative for Covid-19 on Saturday after a rebound infection with the illness, touted the bill as a national security and jobs creation measure in between phlegmy coughs.  'It's no wonder the Chinese Communist Party actively lobbied US business against this,' he said.  The White House press office said after the speech that Biden had tested negative Tuesday morning and on Monday.   Biden first tested positive for COVID July 21. He took Paxlovid anti-viral treatment for the condition, and tested negative on July 27. He then returned to the West Wing masked-up but suffered a rebound on July 30, with another positive test result. 'We face an inflection point in our nation and around the world,' Biden said during remarks outside the White House. 'Fundamental changes are taking place today, politically, economically and technologically, change that can either strengthen our sense of control and security, of dignity and pride in our...
Getty Israel Adesanya attends UFC 277. UFC star Israel Adesanya would like to see a third fight between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko. Reigning UFC two-division champion Nunes shared a heated rivalry with the flyweight queen inside the cage. They competed against each other twice, with Nunes coming out on top of both contests. While the first outing was a decisive win for “Lioness,” the second one was a razor-thin split decision victory. Calls for the trilogy bout started picking momentum after Nunes’ historic win over the former bantamweight title holder Julianna Pena in their rematch at UFC 277. After falling short in their first encounter, Nunes made the necessary adjustments and dominated Pena for a record-breaking lopsided unanimous decision. In a recent video uploaded to his YouTube channel, UFC middleweight champion Adesanya sat down with Dan Hooker to discuss their dream match-ups in the promotion. “Stylebender” would personally like to see Shevchenko have at it against Nunes for a third time. “I’m going to go Shevchenko, I want to see her fight Amanda (Nunes) again,” Adesanya said....
As everything happens, The iOS 16 Beta 5 Actually booting – attention drum roll – display of percentage on battery icon! This indicator disappears on iPhones equipped with Face ID functionality. Until now, it is necessary to be satisfied with the visual indicator of accurate measurement. The battery percentage is in the control center, which requires an additional gesture. On Touch ID smartphones, the percentage is not on the battery icon, but next to it. There is a new option in settings Battery To show or disable the battery percentage display in iOS 16. This monumental innovation may be a sign of what is to come The screen is always on iPhone 14 Pro’s… Note the small lightning bolt next to the percentage when the iPhone is charging. In this article AAPLApple's iOS 16 Beta 5 shows battery percentageTodd Haselton | CNBCThe fifth beta version of iOS 16 has a feature many iPhone users have been missing: The battery percentage in the status bar at the top of the screen. The notched display in the iPhone X, released in 2017, left little room for the battery status indicator. So, Apple instead buried it in the notifications shade, which you swipe down to access. It's been hidden there ever since. With the latest beta version of Apple's iOS 16, the battery percentage is written as a number inside the battery icon, leaving enough space for cell signal information and Wi-Fi status. And it means you can see your exact percentage without swiping down on the screen. It could also be useful if Apple adds an always-on display to its next iPhone, since you'd be able to check your battery status without touching your phone. An Apple spokesperson didn't immediately say whether or not the battery percentage will make it to the final cut of iOS 16. The update...

This Jack Russell terrier/retriever mix who lost half of her muzzle to a gunshot wound finally gets adopted from a shelter in Kentucky. After surviving a gunshot in 2018, Nona spent time at the Kentucky Humane Society while she waited to find her forever home. Just a few weeks ago, the Kentucky Humane Society posted to Facebook in search of a family for Nona, who is now five years old. “Back in 2018, Nona was shot with a gun and the bird shot was spread throughout her small body, leaving her with half of her muzzle missing.” Despite everything, the shelter says that Nona has been the happiest dog on the planet! “She knows no strangers and greets people with a big tail wag and smile. She loves toys (anything that squeaks makes her very happy), running around outside, going for walks, and getting belly rubs.” Recently, the shelter posted an announcement that Nona was adopted but was ultimately returned because she did not get along with the other animals in her new home. Luckily, a kind local nurse named Brandon...

After more than a year of painstaking and dramatic negotiations, Democrats on Capitol Hill finally passed a sweeping climate, tax, and health care bill Sunday afternoon. It wasn’t quite as sweeping as most Democrats had wanted. What was once supposed to be a $5 trillion bill—and then a $3.5 trillion, and then $3 trillion, and then $1.5 trillion, and then $1 trillion—ended up as a $400 billion measure, spread over the next 10 years, that would actually decrease deficits by more than $300 billion over that time period by closing tax loopholes. It’s hardly the package President Joe Biden and the vast majority of Democrats had aimed for, but it’s the one Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) would allow them to have. And even if Democrats had hoped for more, they were ecstatic to cap off one of Biden’s best weeks in office with the legislation’s passage. “After more than a year of hard work, the Senate is making history,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said just before the bill passed. “This bill will kickstart the...

A non-profit worker has been named as the sole survivor of a lightning strike outside of the White House which killed three people. Amber Escudero-Kontostathis, 28, had been canvassing tourists at Lafayette Park across from the White House lawn before the strike last Thursday.  Her family say that she was so badly-injured she was hooked up to a ventilator after the thunderstorm, and had been waiting for her husband to pick her up to celebrate her birthday. She survived the strike which killed Brooks Lambertson, 29, a VP at City National Bank, and James and Donna Mueller, 76 and 75, who were visiting the capital for their 56th wedding anniversary. The group hid under a tree during a summer storm which was subsequently hit by a bolt of lightning, with that flash caught on camera.  Amber was rushed to hospital in a critical condition, and was put on a ventilator as she was struggling to breathe.  Her mother Julie Escudero confirmed that her daughter had managed to take a few steps yesterday evening after being taken off the machine. CHICAGO (AP) — Drew Smyly tossed shutout ball into the seventh inning for his first win at Wrigley Field for the Cubs, leading Chicago past the Miami Marlins 4-0 on Saturday. P.J. Higgins homered and singled, and Nico Hoerner added three hits and an RBI to help the Cubs defeat Miami for a second straight day after losing five straight. Ian Happ had two hits and scored a run and Willson Contreras had an RBI single. Both All-Stars, Happ and Contreras were the subject of trade rumors before Tuesday’s deadline, but remained with Chicago. The Marlins have lost six of seven and were shut out for the 12th time this season. Smyly (4-6) finally prevailed at home in his sixth start this season at Wrigley after signing a one-year, $5.25 million contract in March that includes incentive pay and an option for 2023. The 33-year-old righty allowed five hits, struck out four and walked none before being replaced with Mark Leiter Jr. with two outs in the seventh. Leiter retired the next seven Miami hitters. Smyly was 11-4 last season...
Joe Biden has finally tested negative for COVID, seven days after suffering a rebound infection from the virus - but says he'll continue to isolate for now.  The president, 79, received a negative antigen test result Saturday, White House physician Dr. Kevin C. O' Connor said in a letter published Saturday. He won't leave isolation until he receives a second negative test, likely from a 'gold-standard' PCR swab.   O'Connor wrote: 'The president continues to feel very well. Given his rebound positivity which we reported last Saturday, we have continued daily monitoring. 'This morning, his SARS-CoV-2 antigen testing was negative. 'In an abundance of caution, the President will continue his strict isolation measures pending a second negative test as previously described.' O'Connor gave no indication as to when the second test result will become available, but said he would keep White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre up-to-date with any further developments.   Biden first tested positive for COVID July 21. He took Paxlovid anti-viral treatment for the condition, and tested negative on July 27. But he suffered a rebound on July 30, with...

Apple's latest device, the iPhone 14, is not due to be unveiled until next month, but the rumour mill has been churning as fans speculate about what it will look like. The series will reportedly include an iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Max and an iPhone 14 Pro Max, but no iPhone Mini. Insiders have already revealed that the iPhone 14 Pro model will have a larger camera 'bump' than before as the lenses offer higher resolution snap.  The handset may also come in a purple colour as a 'fun' option, replacing pink for the standard iPhone 13 and Sierra Blue for the iPhone 13 Pro. Since 2017, all iPhones come with a 'notch' at the top of the front display that houses the front-facing camera and the Face ID sensors. However it has been widely circulated that the Cupertino firm will be ditching this in favour or a 'hole punch' camera and pill-shaped cutout for the Face ID elements. Ahead of its release, MailOnline looks at the features we may expect from the latest version of the smartphone favourite. Insiders have revealed...
(CNN)After years of failed attempts to bring Neil Gaiman's acclaimed and surreal comic to the screen, Netflix finally creates a home for "The Sandman," armed with enough top-notch British guest stars to populate a Harry Potter movie. The resulting series is visually striking but dramatically listless, made for those -- and maybe only those -- who already possess degrees in Sandman 101.Gaiman joined in the adaptation process with Allan Heinberg ("Wonder Woman") and veteran comic-book-to-film writer David S. Goyer, who between this and Apple TV+'s confounding "Foundation" has carved out a niche shepherding projects deemed unadaptable to fruition in series form.In this case, the much-anticipated series follows a proposed movie that was to have starred Joseph Gordon-Levitt and an Audible podcast version introduced in 2020, so kudos, in a way, just for getting this far.Still, the dense fantasy elements and lyrical storytelling don't easily translate from page to screen, and the meticulous detail in replicating the look and tone doesn't create much emotional investment. That might satiate fans who can putty in the gaps, but in the context of a...
Revelations that NFL star Aaron Rodgers used psychedelic drugs to boost his performance were just the latest celebrity endorsement of mind-altering drugs, which were for decades taboo but are fast entering the American mainstream. Rodgers, 38, who says the South American hallucinogen ayahuasca aided his 'best season' in the NFL, joins a growing list of athletes, celebrities, and California technology mavens who vaunt the performance-enhancing virtues of psychedelics. The Green Bay Packers quarterback was comfortable discussing his drug dabbling openly on a podcast — a sign of the growing social acceptance of psychedelics, which were for decades frowned upon and landed users in jail. The drugs are also winning fans among scientists, politicians and therapists who treat depressives and veterans with PTSD. But for many parents, they are a danger that can suck their children into a gritty underworld. ‘There’s a big shift, but it's a shift back to normal,’ Dr. Zach Walsh, a University of British Columbia scientist who studies how psychedelics counter stress and boost mood and performance, told DailyMail.com. NFL star Aaron Rodgers' revelation that he tried ayahuasca...

For a quarter-century, Beyoncé’s curves and mane and derrière, her gem-encrusted bodysuits and Swarkovski-covered boob corsets, her sass and rasp and hot-pink stilettos, and her Olympian stage presence have captivated the sacred ranks of gay iconography. Gay men love her. Trans women love her. Queers across the technicolor spectrum love her. Drag queens hold her performances among their highest forms of mimetic ritual. Yet, until last week, Beyoncé had (almost) never sung anything actually gay in her life. Not that it mattered. Queers worshipped her anyways: Not only because her concerts fuse together the ambrosial glitz of Aphrodite and Kali, but also because her songs deliver some of the finest compositions and productions in mass culture. They unite highbrow and lowbrow, pleasing the literati and ignorati all at once. Music critics forget to say this! They forget to remind us that this is exactly why her albums prompt gleeful claps and hoorahs from cultural sages, who otherwise keep their cool in the face of Billboard’s hotshots. Beyoncé has one musical ear pressed up to her ancestry, the other to voices...

Mike Soroka is getting closer to returning to the Atlanta Braves after this latest, positive update. Mike Soroka has not pitched for the Atlanta Braves since the 2020 truncated season after he tore his Achilles tendon when fielding a ball during a game against the New York Mets. He suffered another setback last season re-tearing his Achilles, which put him on the shelf yet again. Just last month, his comeback was once again delayed. But, it appears that a return could be happening sooner rather than later. Braves manager Brian Snitker revealed on Aug. 4 that Soroka will be pitching in simulated games “soon,” but there is no date for a rehab assignment for him. But he explains: “What we have seen of William in the last few weeks gives us every reason to believe that we made the right decision to loan him out again last season. “I understand why I got criticised but it wasn’t just my opinion that he needed the exposure that we couldn’t give him last year. BERLIN (AP) — Germany’s annual Oktoberfest festival is finally on again for this fall, following a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the head of the famous Bavarian beer festival said Thursday. “The Wiesn will take place,” Clemens Baumgaertner told reporters in Munich using the locals’ Bavarian colloquialism for the Oktoberfest which is referring to the big lawn, or Wiese, where the boozy celebrations are taking place. He said said the popular beer festival in the Bavarian capital will be held without any pandemic restrictions from Sept. 17 to Oct. 3 — Germany’s national day. “It will take place like we know it from 2019, and not in any other way,” Baumgaertner added. The Oktoberfest, first held in 1810 in honor of the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria to Princess Therese, has been canceled dozens of times during its more than 200-year history due to wars and pandemics. In the years before the coronavirus outbreak, around 6 million revelers visited the celebrations annually, many of them dressed in traditional Bavarian garb — the women in Dirndl dresses,...

A Bay Area murder investigation that went unsolved for more than 30 years has finally been closed, according to the Santa Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Office Investigators, in partnership with the Merced Coroner’s Office, have concluded that Gregory Marc Riviera allegedly killed Juliette Rivera, 25, of Alameda, in the summer of 1992, a San Mateo County press release stated. Riviera died on Jan. 29, 2022. And when the Merced County Coroner’s Office conducted a fingerprint analysis to locate his next of kin, they discovered that they matched a wanted man who had been on the run for decades. On July 7, 1992, Rivera, of Alameda, was reported missing to police. During the course of their investigation, Alameda Police Department investigators began to suspect that Riviera, a then-50-year-old acquaintance of Rivera, was potentially involved in the young woman’s disappearance. According to the release, authorities found “numerous inconsistencies” in statements Riviera made. A little over a week after Rivera went missing, a farm worker in a rural coastal area of unincorporated San Mateo County found a decomposed body of a young woman...
The U.S. imposed sanctions on Alina Kabaeva on Tuesday, a former Olympic gymnast who is believed to have a secret family with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Announcing the move, the Treasury coyly described the 39-year-old gold medallist as having 'a close relationship to Putin.' BERND LENO'S move from Arsenal to Fulham has been confirmed with the goalkeeper signing a three-year deal at Craven Cottage. The 30-year-old has linked up with the newly-promoted side in an £8milion transfer where he will be the club's new No1 between the sticks. 1Bernd Leno has joined Fulham on a three-year deal from London rivals ArsenalCredit: Getty After four years in North London, Leno has decided to depart in search of regular first-team football in his bid to be named in Germany's World Cup squad for Qatar. Mikel Arteta allowed the ex-Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper to leave having already brought in Matt Turner to be Aaron Ramsdale's back-up. And after undergoing his medical on Tuesday, the Cottagers have finally announced his arrival. Leno has put pen-to-paper on a contract until 2025, with the option of a further 12 months. Will the fifth time be the charm for California’s decades-long effort to replumb the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta so that more Northern California water can be transported to Southern California? Don’t count on it. Last week, the state Department of Water Resources released a draft environmental impact report on the latest iteration of the 57-year-long effort to change the Delta’s role in water supply, a 45-mile-long tunnel officially named the “Delta Conveyance.” The 3,000-page document immediately drew the responses that have accompanied past versions — big municipal and agricultural water agencies were in favor of it because it would, they hope, increase water deliveries south of the Delta, and environmentalists were against it, saying it would further damage the Delta’s already bruised ecosystem. That fundamental conflict has tied up the project in its various forms ever since it was first proposed in 1965 as a “peripheral canal” to complete the California Water Project (CWP). The CWP is primarily a massive dam on the Feather River whose reservoir feeds water into the Sacramento River and the California Aqueduct, which pulls water out of the southern...

Getty Dana White UFC president Dana White showed interest in pitting champions Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko against each other next for a trilogy fight. Nunes retook her bantamweight throne on Saturday night during UFC 277 in Dallas, Texas. She battled the woman who defeated her in December at UFC 269, Julianna Pena, and Nunes avenged the submission defeat by sweeping the judges’ scorecards (50–45, 50–44, 50–43) around eight months later. “The Lioness” is the promotion’s only current simultaneous two-division champion, boasting both the 145 and 135-pound belts. And at flyweight, Shevchenko has ruled for years. Last month, Shevchenko notched her seventh 125-pound championship defense by edging Taila Santos via split decision at UFC 275. For years, fans have called on the UFC and White to book the two pound-for-pound greats. They’ve competed twice in the past at bantamweight, with Nunes besting “Bullet” both times by decision. They competed at UFC 196 in March 2016 and UFC 215 in September 2017. Both fights were close, however, and many scored the second contest for Shevchenko, who lost a split...
When it emerged this week that the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust was being ordered to close its gender identity service (GIDS), it was a particularly personal victory for one young woman.  Indeed, as Keira Bell admits today, it felt as if David had finally slayed Goliath. Two years ago, Keira, now 25, stood on the steps of the High Court after winning her case against GIDS to stop children with gender dysphoria being prescribed puberty-halting drugs.  Keira’s battle was based on her own horrifying experience. Aged 16 and, by her own admission, ‘very mentally ill’, Keira had been given the drugs by doctors at the controversial clinic to pause her own development before realising – six years later and after undergoing a double mastectomy – that it was a monumental mistake.  Keira Bell has spoken about her experience of being prescribed drugs at the age of 16 to halt her development after she was referred to the Tavistock clinic's gender identity service In bringing her High Court challenge with another claimant, Mrs A – the mother of an...
by Nate Scherer   Amidst rising prescription drug prices, consumers may finally be getting some much-needed relief if the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) follows through with a recent pledge to investigate Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) for anticompetitive practices. On June 16th the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it would look into claims that drug manufacturers are providing PBMs, and other intermediaries large rebates in exchange for favorable agreements that place their drugs ahead of low-cost generics and biosimilars on drug formularies. PBMs stand accused of withholding information critical to allowing consumers to make sound financial decisions and prescription selections. The announcement specifically cites “insulin” as an example of a lifesaving product that has been negatively impacted by “high rebates and fees.” The Commission notes that between 2009 and 2017, out-of-pocket costs for both the insured and uninsured “nearly tripled.” Rebate and fee agreements are believed to be responsible for at least some of this increase because PBMs allegedly “steer patients to higher-cost drugs” and pocket generated savings. Other prescription drugs have experienced similar increases. With this knowledge, the FTC has concluded that...
WASHINGTON (AP) — It’s been more than a year in the making and has seen plenty of ups and downs. Now, a Democratic economic package focused on climate and health care faces hurdles but seems headed toward party-line passage by Congress next month. Approval would let President Joe Biden and his party claim a triumph on top priorities as November’s elections approach. They have not forgotten that they came close to approving a far grander version of the bill last year, only to see Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., one of their most conservative and contrarian members, torpedo it at the eleventh hour. This time, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., has crafted a compromise package with Manchin, to the surprise of everyone, transforming the West Virginian from pariah to partner. The measure is more modest than earlier versions but still checks boxes on issues that make Democrats giddy. Here’s what they face: WHAT’S IN IT? The measure would raise $739 billion in revenue over 10 years and spend $433 billion. More than $300 billion would be left for trimming...
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Patrick Wisdom homered again, Marcus Stroman pitched six scoreless innings for his first win in more than two months and the Chicago Cubs beat the struggling San Francisco Giants 4-2 on Friday night. Wisdom connected for the second consecutive day and also doubled in the ninth as the Cubs scored three times to take a 4-0 lead on the way to their seventh victory in eight games. Wilmer Flores hit a two-run homer off closer David Robertson in the bottom of the ninth before the right-hander struck out Thairo Estrada to end it. San Francisco, which snapped a seven-game skid Thursday night, has dropped eight of nine. The Cubs struck out 14 times before their offense got going in the ninth with some help from the Giants’ defense. Nico Hoerner drew a one-out walk from Camilo Doval. After Wisdom doubled, Frank Schwindel reached on an infield single that scored Hoerner. Alfonso Rivas followed with an RBI single. Christopher Morel then hit a high fly to right that deflected off Mike Yastrzemski’s glove for an error...
MEXICO CITY (AP) — International tourism in Mexico has finally surpassed pre-pandemic levels, after 10.26 million visitors came to the country in the first half of 2022, Mexico’s Tourism Department reported Friday. International arrivals from January to June 2022 were up 1.5% from the 10.11 million tourists who arrived in Mexico in the first half of 2019. Mexico’s strongest showing was with U.S. tourists. The number of Americans arriving by air in the first six months of the year was 6.66 million; that is 19.1% higher than in the same period of 2019. It is not clear whether the war in Ukraine may have played a role in convincing some Americans to vacation closer to home. The challenge for Mexico’s most popular tourism destinations — the beaches of the Caribbean coast — is no longer COVID, against whose spread Mexico never imposed any flight bans, testing or mask requirements. Rather, it is the masses of foul-smelling sargassum seaweed that have accumulated at some points along the coast. Sargassum was not much of a problem on Mexico’s Caribbean...
Getty New York Giants WR Kadarius Toney. Kadarius Toney finally spoke out about rumors that the New York Giants were shopping him, after the second-year wide receiver skipped the team’s offseason program this spring. “I never reacted,” Toney told reporters, following the Giants’ training camp practice on July 29. “I talked to the people that are in the building, so I never really questioned it or anything.” It sure sounds as though new general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll are committed to, and optimistic as ever about Toney’s potential. Toney’s injury-riddled rookie campaign was a bit of a disappointment, after the University of Florida alum caught just 39 passes for 420 yards last season. He’s aiming to make major strides this fall, in his second season, and first in new head coach Brian Daboll’s system. “I feel like I’m more confident,” Toney said. “It’s just all about experience. Last year, I was just a rookie coming in kind of young and getting to learn everything. This year, second year, so I had experience on the...
In the late summer of 2020, as the pandemic raged, when vaccines were a distant dream, and when life overall was a strange blend of stagnant and scary, those of us living along much of the east coast finally had something shake up the monotony. Unfortunately, it came in the form of Hurricane Isaias, which knocked out power to millions of people in and around New York City. Living just a dozen miles east of Manhattan as we do, our family was squarely counted in those numbers. We’d be without power for several days (and remember these were the days when it was far from safe to stay in a hotel or even to appeal to friends or family for shelter.) So, for several days, we sweated things out in our hot, humid, and ever more stale and stagnant home. It was a memory of that miserable stretch of days that sent me looking for a portable air conditioning unit, but it was a sweaty, frankly miserable family camping trip that finally convinced me to finally pull the trigger and...
COVID cases in the UK are tumbling as the worst of the summer wave is over. Figures from the Office for National Statistics show infections fell by 16 per cent last week – from 3.8million to 3.2m – in the first decline for eight weeks. 2Positive Covid cases in the UK officially fell last week for the first time in two monthsCredit: PA 2ONS figures show infections are falling in every part of England The surge peaked at just 75 per cent of the levels seen in the spring. Sarah Crofts, stats expert at the ONS, said: “Our most recent data suggest that we may now be over the peak of the latest wave of infections across the UK. “We have seen welcome decreases among most parts of the UK and in all age groups, although rates still remain among the highest seen during the pandemic. “With summer holidays starting and more people travelling, we will continue to closely monitor the data.” Some scientists feared cases would hit another record high – but they have trailed off without the need...
Will Smith has finally apologized for slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars and revealed that the comedian has not yet forgiven him.  The actor posted the video on Instagram on Friday where said he was 'fogged out' during his acceptance speech, and that is why he did not apologize to Rock.  'I've reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he's not ready to talk when he is, he will reach out.  'So I will say to you, Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I'm here whenever you're ready to talk.'  He also apologized to Rock's mother and his entire family.  'I just didn't realize how many people got hurt in that moment, so I want to apologize to Chris's mother. VIDEOS have emerged online of a previously undiscovered area in Nier: Automata – and it baffled the community. The area was dubbed ‘The Church’ by online communities and featured a large underground area found through a secret door. 1Nier: Automata will come to Nintendo Switch this yearCredit: Square Enix When players tried to replicate the door opening in their own games, they couldn’t, leaving many to believe it was a version exclusive area, which had later been patched out. Inside were a number of cryptic items pointing to another game in the series, Nier:Replicant, and expanding on points of lore. The strangest thing about the church was not only that no one else could find it, but that it was way beyond the current capabilities of those wishing to modify the game. There was a boss fight, cutscenes, completely new geometry all in the style of Nier: Automata.
