    PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A mother and son were rushed to the hospital after being attacked by their own dog in Kensington. The vicious attack happened at a home on East Tioga Street. Police say just after 3 a.m. Monday, a man who lives at the home got into a heated argument with his ex-girlfriend in the basement. The dog became agitated and attacked the man’s mother, biting her multiple times.     Actress Ashely Judd is opening up about the death of her mother Naomi Judd and her longtime struggle with mental illness during a recent podcast interview. Speaking with author David Kessler on his podcast Healing, Judd discussed the jagged road of healing and her thoughts on her mother’s struggles. Naomi Judd, who died by suicide in April, had fought a lifelong battle with depression and anxiety. Her death came days before being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.     A 13-year-old girl has been arrested for allegedly stealing her mother's SUV and mowing down and killing two homeless men in arrested in Escondido, California  after cops tried to pull her over. The girl was arrested Thursday but the incident took place in San Diego County's North County region late on the night of February 12, when a white Ford Explorer was pulled over for a potential traffic violation around 11.20pm near the intersection of Mission Ave. and Gamble St. When the officer approached the car, however, the girl behind the wheel, who had her friend in the passenger seat, slammed on the accelerator in an attempt to evade the cop.     An Alabama woman will spend time behind bars for killing her accused rapist — despite arguing that she acted in self-defense. Brittany Smith, 32, entered a plea deal Friday in the murder of Todd Smith, a friend who she claims strangled and raped her in January 2018 at her home in Stevenson, AL.com reported. Under the deal, Brittany received a 20-year sentence — comprised of 18 months in county jail, 18 months of house arrest, and 18.5 years of probation, the outlet reported.
