New York : The couple had decided to isolate themselves in their basement so as not to infect their daughter. Photo: LESZEK SZYMANSKI POLAND OUT / EFE Thousands and thousands of lives have been claimed by the coronavirus pandemic just over a year after the signs of this virus were found, which is still very prevalent in practically the whole world. The coronavirus has not respected gender, place of origin, sex, or age. People of all ages have lost their lives, so many children have been left overnight, without a father, without a mother and even completely orphans. That is the case of an 11-year-old girl, originally from St. Louis, Missouri, who lost her parents just a few days ago, victims of coronavirus. The terrible events occurred on February 18. The couple was at home, quarantined for weeks. That day, seeing that her parents did not get up, the girl entered her room and that is how she found them dead. Ericka and Scott Greenman were the parents of this minor, they were 40 years...
Parents in Middlesex County school district in New Jersey are calling for the resignation of assistant superintendent Paul Rafalowski A New Jersey school official is being criticized after he hit out at a mother calling for in-person learning to return by sending her pictures of her family sledding with others without masks. The parent had sent multiple messages to the Middlesex County school district about the failure to return to in-person learning, or even hybrid learning, after the holidays as was originally scheduled. In response to her email on February 4, Paul Rafalowski, assistant superintendent of Middlesex Borough schools, said the reason for the postponement was because the community is not taking the coronavirus seriously – attaching a picture of her standing with four friends and one of her son in a group of 16 children, all maskless. He accused the unidentified mother of being the 'precise reason our school community remains in Phase 1 (virtual)', according to the letter which was seen by NY Advance Media. Parents in the district are infuriated and have called Rafalowski's actions an...
A British lesbian mother is embroiled in an EU court battle after her baby girl was left without a nationality because Bulgaria does not recognise same-sex marriages.  The baby girl was left without a nationality after she was born in Spain to an unnamed same-sex couple from Bulgaria and Gibraltar, and will be at the centre of a test case to be heard by the European Union's top court on Tuesday. Lawyers say Bulgaria has put one-year-old 'Baby S' at risk of prolonged statelessness after refusing to provide a birth certificate and citizenship because of discrimination towards her parents' sexual orientation. The hearing at the Luxembourg-based court is being seen as an important test case for many other so-called 'rainbow families' in Europe who face similar dilemmas. Experts on statelessness say if 'Baby S' cannot acquire citizenship she may not be able to go to school, access healthcare and state benefits, or get jobs later in life. Now a new six-part series about the infamous rockers from director Danny Boyle is set to revive interest in the notorious case, which ended with Vicious being charged with his girlfriend’s murder – but dying of a heroin overdose before it came to court. The Oscar-winner may not be the first to address the mystery, but there remains one detail that is often overlooked by those telling the story of the band that excited and revulsed 1970s Britain in equal measure: a letter that Vicious wrote to Nancy’s grieving mother just a few weeks after her killing. Deborah Spungen, a middle-class mum from an affluent suburb of Philadelphia, expected to be upset by the correspondence from the violence-obsessed drug addict alleged to have slid a 7in hunting knife into her daughter’s stomach.  But she was surprised to find it was a heartfelt, thoughtful and poignant...
