From it's crystal clear turquoise waters to exclusive beach clubs and high end restaurants, Albania is proving to be a surprising summer holiday hit with social media users. The destination, which is located between Montenegro and Greece, has seen a boom in popularity post-pandemic, with many British holidaymakers travelling to the country. Travel experts are crediting social media with having promoted Albania as an 'under-the-radar destination, with Ellie Marr, an Albania specialist at Regent Holidays, telling The Times: 'They’re big social media users over there and they have capitalised on that.' She continued: 'It’s the case that people have seen it in pictures, they’ve heard about it, and realise it’s a stunning country for its coast and its natural beauty.' @_reena_rai We love a (relatively) undiscovered gem #placestovisit #placestogo #traveltok #traveltiktok #albania ♬ Somewhere Only We Know - ????♡???? Nothing ruins a day at the beach like an aggressive cow. A beach in France that’s famous for its sunbathing cows recently had to temporarily close due to some aggressive behavior from the animals. Local officials took the opportunity to remind the public that the cows are wild animals and should be given their space. Authorities temporarily closed the beaches in Corsica, a French-owned island in the Mediterranean. The island is famous for having 15,000 cows that roam the island, including the scenic beaches. TAMPA (CBSMiami/AP) — Sometimes a television show or movie can put cities or towns on the map as places people want to visit. For example, Wilmington, North Carolina, from “Dawson’s Creek” and the woods of Senoia, Georgia, from “The Walking Dead.” READ MORE: Walt Disney World Marks 50th Anniversary With ‘The World’s Most Magical Celebration’ That’s exactly what travel marketers in St. Petersburg and Clearwater were hoping to capitalize on when they commissioned an original, scripted TV series, seeking to draw quarantine-weary tourists to the area’s sugar sand beaches. “Life’s Rewards” aired on Amazon Prime last month. The eight-episode show is based on a charming yet cavalier wealth manager who loses his money and uses travel rewards points to stay at the posh, pink Don CeSar hotel while rebuilding his life. Each episode is only eight to 14 minutes long and was filmed using a local production company, director, and actors. The series cost roughly a million dollars to create, split between the city and the state’s tourism arm. Some of the “ad” spots woven throughout the dialogue are obvious,...

The attack occurred around 8:40 a.m. as the victim was bodyboarding around 100 feet from Cable Beach near Broome, a vacation destination on the Indian Ocean coast of Australia, police said. “It’s a tragic incident, very unexpected, a person going out to have a bit of fun in the water,” Kimberley District Office Police Inspector Gene Pears told reporters. Pears said a couple on the beach saw thrashing in the water and rushed to pull the man to safety. The man suffered serious injuries to his leg and hand, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His death brought the number of fatalities from shark attacks this year in the country to eight — the highest since 1929 when there were nine people who died. With Post wires

Southwest Airlines is adding service to another popular leisure destination in Florida next year — Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. This announcement is the latest in a growing trend of destination additions for the Dallas-based carrier as it looks to bulk up service to leisure-heavy locales with business travel not expected to return any time soon. The addition of Sarasota to its network will happen in the first quarter of 2021. Besides that fact, Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) was scarce on other details about the service, which was announced in a regulatory filing Thursday morning. However, Jason Van Eaton, Southwest’s senior vice president of government affairs and real estate confirmed with the Baltimore Business Journal last week that the carrier would offer service between Baltimore-Washington International Airport and Sarasota — also home to the Orioles’ spring training program — starting next year. Maybe you have a very stressful and non-stop season, and what you are looking for for your days off is, simply and simply, the comfort of having everything done for you. Not having to worry about shopping and eating, and spending several days resting, either reading and...
