Bill Cosby will go to trial for a civil lawsuit alleging he sexually assaulted an underage girl at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, it has been reported less than two months after he was released from a Pennsylvania prison. Judy Huth alleged in a lawsuit filed in 2014 that Cosby sexually assaulted her at the famed mansion when she was just 15 years old and he was 37, but legal proceedings related to the lawsuit moved slowly amid his criminal proceedings and conviction.  Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Craig Karlan lifted a stay stopping the case from moving along Friday and set the trial for a tentative date of April 18, 2022, the New York Daily News reported. Both parties will return to court as early as September 30. 'You're one of the oldest cases, if not the oldest case, on my calendar. It's time to lift the stay,' Karlan said Friday.  Judy Huth, righjt, alleged in a lawsuit filed in 2014 that Bill Cosby, left, sexually assaulted her at the famed mansion when she was just 15 years...
Comedian Bill Cosby could face civil trial for allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager 47 years ago when a lawsuit filed seven years ago was reactivated, a Los Angeles County judge said Friday. The lawsuit filed in December 2014 ensures that the actor, disgraced and recently released from prison, sexually assaulted Judy Huth at the Playboy mansion in 1974, when she was 15 years old. The assault caused the then minor “acute psychological and mental damage,” according to Huth. The case was suspended as Cosby faced criminal trial in Pennsylvania for drugging and sexually assaulting another woman, Andrea Constand, who worked for Temple University in Philadelphia in 2004. Cosby was first convicted and later released by a decision of the state Supreme Court that warned that he was not allowed to have a fair trial. As a result of this decision, the Los Angeles judge practically lifted the suspension that weighed on the civil case, except for a possible statement by Cosby, 84 years old. The latter remains in effect until September 30, when it will be known whether the decision...
