USUALLY brides expect to receive plenty of compliments on their big day, especially from their groom. However this wasn’t the case for one rather upset bride, whose new husband decided to use his speech as an opportunity to joke about her appearance. 1One anonymous bride writes that her husband used his groom's speech to make fun of her appearanceCredit: Getty Taking to Reddit the anonymous bride wanted to ask others if she was overreacting or if she was right and her new husband had crossed a line. “I'm prefacing this by saying that I (F30) always struggled with self esteem. I'm an introvert, anxious, socially awkward type of person which makes it worse,” she begins. “I got introduced to make up during my late 20s and it's now become both a source of income & a source of self confidence and esteem.  “My now husband always teased me about it, mind you he's a jokester and is a bit on the sarcastic - brutally honest side. I didn't have an issue as long as it was done privately, meaning private...
Like so many people celebrating milestones during the height of the pandemic, Sir Richard Branson was forced to put his 70th birthday party on hold two years ago.  But the British billionaire made up for lost time when he finally marked the milestone with a bumper birthday bash on the high seas last week.  Sir Richard, now 72, was surprised with a five-night Caribbean cruise onboard one of his luxury adults-only Virgin Voyages ships, taking in Miami, Mexico and Bimini in the Bahamas. Friends including Spanx founder Sarah Blakely and glamorous Dutch model-actress Nicolette van Dam toasted his birthday at a string of events including a white party and a 'Richard Through the Decades' soiree.  Musician son Sam, 37, performed a song called Sympathy For The Legend - inspired by the Rolling Stones hit - and proud daughter Holly, 40, was by her father's side as the group sung a chorus of Happy Birthday in the ship's two-storey club.  'The first big surprise was seeing everyone dressed as different moments from throughout my life,' Sir Richard wrote in a blog post...
EVERYONE in the UK has gone out and bought a paddling pool this week in an attempt to cope with the heatwave. But one mum has been slammed for refusing to put her paddling pool up for her two children. 2Everyone loves a paddling pool in the summer -except one mum it seemsCredit: Getty The anonymous mum took to Mumsnet to ask if she was unreasonable for not putting it up - but she didn't get the response she was looking for. The mum explained that her children (aged six and eight) had been asking her to put up the pool - which is no surprise considering how hot the UK is. But she put her foot down saying no because it wasn't an 'appropriate time'. She added: " they're in school every day until four, we have plans this weekend so it won't get used, and then next week when they finish school on Thursday- on Friday we are away for five days." Lucas Kunce. Missouri’s Senate race is heating up. The Republican Party has once again put its best foot forward by promoting Eric Greitens, best known for mowing down trees with a high-caliber assault weapon during his elections campaign ads and then being forced to resign after it turned out that he was a next-level scumbag. It turned out that Greitens was not simply having an extramarital affair, but he was accused by the woman he began the affair with of sexual assault, battery, kidnapping, and blackmail in his pursuit to cover that affair up. Donald Trump Jr. even cut an add where both he and Greitens shot weapons and threatened “liberals, RINOs, and the fake media.” The Democratic Party has two front running candidates running for Senate, with the primary taking place on Aug. 2. On the one hand you have Anheuser-Busch heiress Trudy Busch Valentine, who is considered a front runner because of her financial resources. On the other hand you have former Marine Lucas Kunce, who has been catching up in the polls. Right now the main criticism facing Valentine...

TECH billionaire Mark Zuckerberg is stepping up his metaverse mission so you won't even need a VR headset to enter the virtual world. The internet entrepreneur, 38, recently bought a major game development platform called Crayta, so that people can get onto the metaverse via Facebook. 2Metaverse not all about VR headsets... Much of Zuckerberg's metaverse plan has been focused on transporting users to an immersive virtual world via VR headsets. But the Facebook owner admits wearables won't be possible or desired for some. "A lot of times today, people think about the metaverse as 3D experiences you can have in virtual and augmented reality," he said. "But I think what Crayta shows is that you can both build and enjoy these kind of experiences really easily on all kinds of 2D environments including just within the Facebook App on phones and on computers." On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm called for “everyone to step up, whether it’s gas station owners, whether it’s oil companies” to increase energy supply and said there is “concern about whether there is profiteering happening at the gas station level, as well as at the oil company level.” Granholm said, “Well, certainly, the oil companies, as they have said in their shareholder meetings, are making quite a profit at this time. And, as you noted in your introduction, it’s — this phenomenon of oil prices coming down and gas prices coming down much more slowly is called rockets and feathers, shooting up quickly, coming down very slowly. It’s been happening for a long period of time. But when the price is so high, it is really acute for people, and there is concern about whether there is profiteering happening at the gas station level, as well as at the oil company level. And I think the oil companies must be sensitive to this. I was in Houston last week for a very large energy...
With the statewide mask mandate expiring for students in Massachusetts schools, the decision on whether to send children to class with a facial covering now falls on parents and local school districts. As of Monday, Feb. 28, the statewide COVID-19 mandate in schools ended, leaving the decision to individual schools, most of which are opting to ditch the masks. The mandate had been in effect since last August and has been extended three times as new variants of the virus caused several separate spikes of new infections. (CNN)It's pretty natural for people to take a look at the radar first thing in the morning to check on the morning commute, but for millions, what looked like light drizzle over Germantown was actually a swarm of cicadas... what? That's right, the radar imagery from the Washington, DC, area showed a patch of green just northwest of the city. What could have easily been mistaken for rain, wasn't. The big, black-winged insects that have emerged after their 17-year slumber were in such large numbers, they showed up on radar. Here’s what you need to know: British actor Daniel Kaluuya won the Best Supporting Actor Acadamy Award for his portrayal of Fred Hampton in Judah and the Black Messiah. At the end of his speech, perhaps understandably overcome with the moment, Kaluuya went on something of a stream of consciousness chat that focused on his plans to celebrate his first Oscar. During that run, however, he curiously brought up the sex life of his parents, which elicited the sort of pained reaction with which every parent is familiar. Her love and pride showed through however. “Because tonight I’m going up. We’re going up, you know what I mean? We’re enjoying ourselves tonight,” Kaluuya said. “You got to celebrate life, man. We’re breathing, walking, it’s incredible. It’s incredible.” Then he went with his personal procreational past. “My mom, my dad, they had sex. It’s amazing,” he said. “You understand, I’m here. You know what I mean? I’m so happy to be alive. So I’m going to celebrate tonight. I appreciate everyone in the room, everyone watching at home.” The director...

California is set to make all residents 16 and older eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday. But many vaccination sites are not waiting until then. This weekend, Los Angeles joined the growing list of areas allowing people 16 and over to sign up for vaccinations. The changes come as more vaccine supply is coming to California. To date, providers throughout California have administered almost 22.8 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, and 38.3% of residents have received at least one shot, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Roughly 21.1% of Californians are fully vaccinated, meaning they’ve either received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or both required doses of Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna. Nationwide, 35.9% of Americans have received at least one dose, and 21.9% are fully vaccinated, CDC data show. But supply issues are emerging with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine that could slow progress.
