The Wall Street Journal says Elon Musk's online attacks against Investigations Editor Michael Siconolfi are 'unwarranted and unfounded after the paper claimed Musk had an affair with the then-wife of Google's co-founder.  A Wall Street Journal spokesman told DailyMail.com that they were 'confident in our sourcing and stand by our reporting.' WSJ also noted Siconolfi was 'not part of the editing team' for Grind and Glazer's story. The Tesla CEO called out Siconolfi and the newspaper on Twitter after the publication of a recent article claiming he had an affair with Nicole Shanahan, the estranged wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin. The 'fake hit piece' - as Musk called it - argued the alleged affair served as a catalyst for Shanahan and Brin's divorce. It is unclear why Musk, 51, publicly slammed Siconolfi as reporters Kristen Grind and Emily Glazer are named as the only authors on the article. The Philadelphia Phillies are defending their decision to invite Pete Rose to celebrate the club's 1980 World Series title on August 7. Not only is baseball's all-time hit king officially banned from baseball after admittedly gambling on the Cincinnati Reds when he played for, and managed, the team from 1985 until 1987, but an allegation surfaced in 2017 that Rose had an improper sexual relationship with a minor in the 1970s. 'In planning the 1980 reunion, we consulted with Pete's teammates about his inclusion,' the Phillies said in a statement. 'Everyone wants Pete to be part of the festivities since there would be no trophy in 1980 without him. In addition, the club received permission from the Commissioner's Office in invite Pete as a member of the championship team.' While Rose is banned from induction into the Hall of Fame and for working in MLB, he is permitted to attend games, and was even honored by the Reds as recently as 2017.   The Philadelphia Phillies are defending their decision to invite Pete Rose to celebrate the club's 1980 World Series...

A records search didn't turn up evidence for a claim President Joe Biden made last month when he told graduates of the U.S. Naval Academy he almost was one of them.  The New York Post reported Tuesday that curators for the Delaware Historical Association in Wilmington went 'box-by-box' searching for Naval Academy nominations made by the late Delaware Sen. J. Caleb Boggs in the early to mid-1960s.  During the May 27 ceremony in Annapolis, Biden told the crowd he had been 'appointed to the Academy in 1965 by a senator who I was running against in 1972,' which the chief curator Leigh Rifenburg told the paper was 'unlikely.'  A records search didn't turn up evidence for a claim President Joe Biden made last month when he told Naval Academy graduates in Annapolis he had been 'appointed to the Academy in 1965 by a senator who I was running against in 1972' President Joe Biden, pictured in an undated photo, has claimed several times that he almost went to the Naval Academy. A third woman has come forward to accuse Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer of choking her without consent and having sex with her while she was passed out. The unnamed woman from Columbus, Ohio, claimed Bauer, who was just suspended from the MLB for two seasons over allegations that he punched and choked out a woman during sex in 2021, began abusing her in 2013, the Washington Post reported.  The woman, represented by attorney Joe Tacopina, said Bauer frequently ignored her requests to not choke her to the point of passing out and convulsing, sharing a text message allegedly from him that read, 'I want to f*** you while you're completely unconscious.' She also claims that he slapped her without consent, and had anal sex with her while she was unconscious.   Bauer has denied all allegations that he ever abused any of the alleged victims, posting a response to the newest accusations on Twitter where he claimed to have had a consensual relationship with the Columbus woman between 2013 to 2018.  He's condemned the latest allegations too, saying the woman who made them...
Prince Harry's claims he is making sure the Queen is 'protected' may have been sparked after seeing Prince Andrew escorting Her Majesty to Prince Philip's memorial, Buckingham Palace aides have claimed.  The Duke of Sussex, 37, claimed last week that  he was making sure his grandmother has 'the right people around her' in an interview with US TV host Hoda Kotb from the Invictus Games in The Hague.  Some royal watchers first took his comments as a dig at his father and brother, branding his 'delusional', while others said he may have been taking aim at private secretary Sir Edward Young or her dresser Angela Kelly. However, insiders at Buckingham Palace have now claimed it was instead aimed at Prince Andrew, who has been embroiled in scandal due to his friendship with late paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.  A Buckingham Palace source told the Mirror: 'Those images of Prince Andrew escorting the Queen to Westminster Abbey may have upset Harry, which is now believed to be one of the reasons he made such an astonishing remark.  Prince Harry's claims he is making...
A black Louisiana man has been freed from prison after 44 years when a judge ruled on Monday that he did not have a fair trial in 1977, when he was accused of attempted aggravated rape by two white twins who were 14 years old at the time. Vincent Simmons, who turns 70 on Thursday, has fought to clear his name at least 16 times by trying to present evidence that wasn't seen at his initial trial, when he was convicted by a jury of 11 white men and one black woman. It's not clear how Simmons was even a suspect in the case, and there was no physical evidence linking him to the rape of the twins, Sharon and Karen Sanders, now 59.  The twins alleged to police that a black man raped them and pointed Simmons out in a police line-up.  Among the new evidence presented to the court that freed Simmons was a medical report conducted two weeks after the incident, where a doctor found that one of the accusers was a virgin. It's not clear which...
U.S. former Vice President Mike Pence sits for an onstage interview after his remarks on abortion, ahead of Supreme Court arguments in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case involving a Mississippi abortion law, at the National Press Club in Washington, November 30, 2021.Jonathan Ernst | Reuters Former Vice President Michael Pence said Friday that his former boss, ex-President Donald Trump, is "wrong" to claim that he could have overturned the results of the 2020 presidential election. "President Trump is wrong. I had no right to overturn the election," he said in a speech to a gathering of the Federalist Society, a conservative legal group. "There are those in our party who believe that, as the presiding officer over the joint session of Congress, that I possessed unilateral authority to reject Electoral College votes." "The presidency belongs to the American people, and the American people alone," he added. "And frankly, there is no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president."CNBC PoliticsRead more of CNBC's politics coverage: How the Biden administration misread...

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is suing an ex-lover after she claimed the pair had violent sex that left her bleeding and with a broken rib Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is suing an ex-lover after she claimed the pair had violent sex that left her bleeding and with a broken rib.   His former partner, who is using the pseudonym Kayla, told Business Insider her sexual encounters with Portnoy were more aggressive than she anticipated. She claims Portnoy, 44, would choke her to the point where she couldn't breathe, left red marks on her body from forceful spankings and gripped her rib cage so tightly it felt as if her body 'was compressing in on itself.'  She alleged one sexual encounter was so rough that she suffered rug burns and bled on his carpet. 'I always think back to it,' she told the news outlet. 'Like, "Yes, it was technically consensual sex, but that was not the sex I consented to."'  Kayla also alleged the internet personality would film their sex sessions without her knowledge, an accusation two other women have...
Darrel Brooks faces a total of 77 charges The Waukesha Christmas Parade killer leaned out his window to steer because someone had landed on his windshield and was blocking his view after he drove his SUV through the crowd, prosecutors said in a criminal complaint that added 71 new charges against him. Darrell Brooks, 39, steered his Ford Escape for five blocks through the parade route in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, suburb of Waukesha on November 21, killing six people and injuring dozens more. Authorities estimate that the SUV reached speeds of up to 25 mph and said some people landed on the hood, with Brooks carrying them along.   The complaint also alleged that just before the tragedy, Brooks drove her ex-girlfriend around, steering with one hand and punching her in the face with the other because she didn't post bail for him after he was arrested for running her over and breaking her leg.   Prosecutors suggested that Brooks plowed into the crowd fully aware that his actions would lead to the endangerment and possible death of multiple people. 'All of the victims...
President Joe Biden suggested in a speech about voting rights Tuesday in Georgia that he was once arrested during a civil rights movement demonstration, a claim that he has previously recanted. “I did not walk in the shoes of generations of students who walked these grounds, but I walked other grounds,” Biden said in a speech on the grounds of Morehouse College and Clark Atlanta University on Tuesday, joking, “Because I’m so damn old, I was there as well.” “You think I’m kidding,” he continued in remarks at the historically black Atlanta colleges. “It seems like yesterday the first time I got arrested.” HARRIS SAYS DITCH FILIBUSTER NOW BECAUSE DEMOCRATS COULD SOON LOSE ‘OPPORTUNITY’ Biden has previously claimed to have marched in the civil rights movement as a student in the 1960s and said Tuesday of the struggles of activists in the South, “They’re the ones that opened my eyes as a high school student, the late '50s and early '60s.” He made similar assertions during his failed presidential bid in 1987. “I came out of the civil rights movement....
Novak Djokovic's lawyers have claimed the Australian government gave the tennis star a written vaccine exemption because he had Covid in December, as he remains in detention in a Melbourne hotel with 'maggot-ridden food'.  The World No. 1 has been detained at an immigration facility in Melbourne after his visa was cancelled on Wednesday following scrutiny of the medical exemption he had secured to travel to the first tennis major of the year. But his lawyers have now claimed that he was in fact granted a vaccine exemption from the Australian government and Tennis Australia to enter the country because he contracted Covid-19 last month. It comes after Djokovic's demands for a personal chef in the $109-a-night Park Hotel in Carlton were rejected as he was told he would receive no special treatment as he awaits his court date on Monday. In court documents published on Saturday, Djokovic's lawyers claimed the Serbian recorded a positive test on December 16, and has 'not had a fever or respiratory symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 72 hours'. The filing said he had written clearance from...
A former Michigan state lawmaker has denied allegations he subjected a woman to repeated sexual assaults for several years dating back to the time she was a teenager. Former House speaker Lee Chatfield has admitted to knowing the 27-year-old woman who accused him, but claimed Friday that the relationship was consensual. The woman, who has not been publicly identified, said Chatfield began assaulting her at the Gaylord Northern Michigan Baptist Bible Church roughly 12 years ago when she was just 15-years-old, her lawyer told the Lansing City Pulse. Chatfield, who was elected house speaker during his final term and left office due to term limits in December 2020, addressed the allegations on Friday, vehemently denying the claims and vowing to fight them. In a statement through his lawyer, the lawmaker admitted to a sexual entanglement with his accuser that “lasted for years,” but insisted that it had been an ongoing affair between two “consenting adults.” “Mr. Chatfield is innocent of the false rape claims made against him. He had affairs while he was married, including a sexual relationship with the...

CNN's president Jeff Zucker has told staff at the network that they will continue investigating fired anchor Chris Cuomo's behavior after a woman at another network accused him of historic sexual misconduct - and the 51-year-old quit his radio show. Cuomo was fired on Saturday after it emerged that he had provided more substantial help to the team working for his embattled brother, Governor Andrew Cuomo, than he had previously admitted. Andrew, 63, resigned as governor of New York in August. CNN on Saturday said that Cuomo was being fired due to his undisclosed actions in support of his brother, in breach of journalistic ethics. They also said that 'additional information' contributed to the decision - which is now known to be allegations of sexual misconduct made last week by a former colleague of Cuomo's when he worked at ABC News, from 2006-13. Zucker on Monday told staff the allegations of sexual misconduct would be thoroughly investigated.  'Chris had been much more deeply involved than we had ever known, and than he'd ever told us,' Zucker told employees, according to...
Shock rocker Marilyn Manson reportedly had a small, soundproof glass enclosure called the Bad Girls' Room in his West Hollywood apartment that he used to lock up women he was dating. According to an expose from Rolling Stone, several women who have dated Manson over the years said he used the space as a 'solitary confinement cell, used to psychologically torture women.' The existence of the room was an open secret, they allege, with Manson telling his friends about the room. 'He always had a joking, bragging tone,' said Ashley Walters, his former assistant who has accused him of sexual assault.  But those who were allegedly locked inside told Rolling Stone they would be stuck inside the soundproof enclosure for hours on end without access to food or water. Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, is now facing three sexual assault lawsuits, with many more women claiming he sexually assaulted and psychologically abused them. Greg Blatt, the former CEO of Tinder, valued the popular dating app at nearly $12billion in 2016, a year before he allegedly schemed to devalue the company to just $3billion to cheat them out of billions of dollars in stock options, according to internal emails obtained by DailyMail.com. A group of former employees, including co-founder Sean Rad, will be using those emails from 2016 in an upcoming trial to try to prove Blatt intentionally lowballed the value in 2017, denying banks information they needed to make an accurate assessment.  The $2billion Tinder valuation case, filed in 2018 against the company and its corporate parents, Match Group and IAC, is finally set to go to trial next month in New York Supreme Court.  Internal emails show former Tinder CEO Greg Blatt (pictured in red tie with founder Sean Rad, second from right) had initially projected the company's value at nearly $12billion The emails, obtained by DailyMail.com, show Blatt emailed colleagues on January 6, 2016 requesting a four-page PowerPoint 'that helps us sell prospective execs on the future valuation of Tinder' But...
Caitlyn Jenner joined The View as a guest host on Tuesday and quickly clashed with Sunny Hostin over the media’s treatment of the Republican Party. Jenner, who said she would support Donald Trump’s 2024 bid and refused to admit he lost the 2020 election during her previous appearance on The View, claimed that she is “outside the box” when it comes to the GOP, adding that she is the “poster child for change.” Whoopi Goldberg went on to note that the GOP is struggling to attract younger voters, prompting Sarah Haines and Joy Behar to reason that Republicans would fail to gain votes from younger demographics if the party continues to deny climate change and vote against LGBTQ+ and abortion rights. “You have to think about the racial demographic because 45 percent of millennials are people of color. I think it’s Generation Z it’s 50 percent, those born after 1996, are people of color,” Hostin added. “Compared with 30 percent of Baby Boomers and the Republican party quite frankly has never really been great for people of color in modern times, and I just don’t know with the changing...
Antonio Perez/ Getty Images R. Kelly’s doctor of 25 years took the stand during his trial on Thursday, confirming that the singer has been aware of his genital herpes diagnosis since at least 2007. The R&B singer has been on trial in a Brooklyn courtroom since Wednesday, where prosecutors labeled him a “predator” and alleged that he knowingly infected people with genital herpes — a claim bolstered by Kelly’s own personal physician. Dr. Kris McGrath, a Chicago-based physician, testified that he has been treating the singer, whose full name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, since 1994 and suspected he had genital herpes beginning in June 2000. While Kelly’s lab test for the virus came back negative in 2000, McGrath claimed he “did not conclude that he did not have herpes,” as the test can sometimes give false results. McGrath even told Kelly to “inform your sexual partners so they can make a decision whether or not to have sex with you,” as health laws in 37 states, including New York and Illinois, criminalize exposing others with HIV and/or STIs without informing them of...
Halloween is a long way off yet, but it hasn't stopped parents from sharing spooky stories about their children.  British father Dan Schreiber took to Twitter to reveal that his three-year-old child calmly told him they had a family 'a long time ago' - and even came up with a selection of names.  After the spooked father posted the story online, it wasn't long before other parents came forward with similar tales - including one who said her three-year-old daughter often pointed out photos of her great-grandmother saying, 'that's me.' Another child creeped out a taxi driver when he claimed a Claire's Accessories shop they were driving by used to be a pet shop that he'd visit - and the driver confirmed that it was indeed, true. Social media critics won’t stop Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield from doubling down on his UFO sighting, and now he has the backing of the US Navy. “I’m a firm believer in UFOs and Sasquatch,” Mayfield said during his Monday press conference. “It’s real, I saw it, I’m glad the Navy finally confirmed some more pictures and now everybody doesn’t think I’m as crazy. I believe!” Last month, Mayfield tweeted that he and his wife “almost 100%” just saw a UFO on their way home from dinner. A billboard claiming that Matt Gaetz 'wants to "date" your child' has appeared in the district of Florida which the Congressman represents. The 38-year-old, once tipped as a rising star of the Republican Party, is being investigated by the Department of Justice over allegations he had sex with a 17-year-old girl. The DoJ is also probing separate claims that Gaetz broke federal sex trafficking laws and was involved in a scheme to recruit and pay women for sex. The billboard in Crestview, a city in northeast Florida, was paid for by Mad Dog PAC which says on its website that it was founded to, 'Fight Fascism. Stop Trump.' It features a black and white photo of the embattled congressman with the striking claim: 'Matt Gaetz wants to "date" your child.'  Gaetz has pushed back forcefully against the allegations he faces, penning a column in the Washington Examiner Monday which said: 'The swamp is out to drown me with false charges, but I'm not giving up.'  Gaetz, a third-term congressman from Florida, has not been charged with a crime, and he...
A top member of President Joe Biden's COVID panel is distancing himself from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, denying Cuomo's claim that he was a 'chief advisor'. Dr. Michael Osterholm, an infectious disease expert with the University of Minnesota, was the latest to distance himself from Cuomo as fallout grows from the governor's nursing home deaths scandal. Cuomo's administration had claimed Osterholm was a 'chief advisor' who spoke with the governor on a 'regular basis' -- claims the epidemiologist was quick to deny on Thursday. 'I've had one, five-minute conversation in my entire life with Governor Cuomo, just a few weeks ago when he called me, just to congratulate me on a TV program appearance,' Osterholm told the PBS program Firing Line. President Donald Trump called in to Fox News Wednesday to offer his tribute to talk host Rush Limbaugh – who he said shared his own beliefs that the election was stolen. 'Rush thought we won. And so do I,' said Trump in the extended interview. Trump used the segment to vent about the election, having skipped Joe Biden's inauguration after weeks claiming it had been rigged. 'I think it's disgraceful what happened. We were like a Third World country on election night,' Trump said. 'I was disappointed by voter tabulation. I think it's disgraceful what happened,' Trump said, in his first live comments since his Senate acquittal at the end of his impeachment trial on Saturday.  'I think we won substantially. And Rush thought we won,' Trump continued from his home at Mar-a-Lago, where he has been since January 20. Limbaugh was one of Donald Trump's most ardent supporters. The ex-president called Fox News to pay tribute to him shortly after his death was announced 'He thought it was over at 10 o'clock, 10:30 it was over,' Trump said,...
Vladimir Putin has secretly moved to Sochi during the pandemic, going so far as to have a replica office built to convince Russians he's still in Moscow, anti-Kremlin media reported. Proekt media said on Monday that the Russian president is now based almost permanently in Sochi, a city on the Black Sea around 1,000 miles (1,609km) from the capital. The reported move is just the latest rumour swirling around Putin and came as his spokesman strongly denied claims that he was suffering from potentially serious health problems. Dmitry Peskov hinted that an unspecified enemy is behind the rumours which have surfaced in recent weeks. Hair stylists have chimed in after Rudy Giuliani appeared to literally meltdown during Thursday's press conference, when streams of dark brown liquid streaked down his face in several rivulets.  While acting as President Trump's personal lawyer, Giuliani gave a winding press conference that once again sought to legitimize unfounded claims to widespread voter fraud.     But audiences were more enthralled by Giuliani's apparent hair malfunction, which left some hair stylists scratching their heads while others cringed. Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump did another rambling interview on Fox News morning show "Fox & Friends" on Tuesday. In perhaps the most notable moment of the session, Trump said he had previously wanted to order the assassination of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, and "had him all set," but that then-Secretary of Defense James Mattis opposed the idea. This was a complete contradiction from Trump's comments two years ago. After journalist Bob Woodward reported in 2018 that Trump had wanted Assad assassinated after a Syrian chemical attack on civilians in 2017, Trump told reporters that the report was "fiction" and that an assassination "was never even contemplated, nor would it be contemplated." In addition to his implicit Tuesday concession that his 2018 comments were false, Trump made a significant number of false or misleading claims. Here is a preliminary list. The departure of MattisRead MoreTrump repeated his claim that "I fired" Mattis as Secretary of Defense. Michael Jordan is one of those very rare ‘designed-to-play’ personalities. You cut off sports from his early life and it is impossible to imagine him excelling at anything else. At the same time, you pick and drop him into any sports field and he will nail it. He has that innate ability in him. MJ would try many sports back in his school days, but basketball somehow stuck with him. Later in his NBA career, he would always find out time to practice golf whenever his tight schedule allowed. But who knew there was one more sport waiting for him… Baseball! White Sox coach Jerry Reinsdorf makes a big claim for MJ MJ was a huge star and hence he could sign a Minor League Baseball contract with the Chicago White Sox in 1994. He joined AA minor league team Birmingham Barons. ESPN quoted Curt Bloom, Birmingham Barons play-by-play announcer saying, “He has made it very exciting tonight. With the Barons leading 5-1, Jordan steps in for the fourth time … two of his three at-bats were near homers.”...
Attorney General William Barr appeared to undercut President Donald Trump’s claim that he visited the White House bunker “for inspection.” Barr discussed the situation with Fox News anchor Bret Baier during a Monday interview, and he said that the Secret Service had recommended the president be taken to the bunker because the situation outside the White House had gotten bad enough to warrant extra precautions. WATCH: Barr was defending the decision to move the perimeter away from the White House, pushing protesters out of Lafayette Park and away from St. John’s Church, when he let slip that one detail with regard to the reason for Trump’s trip to the bunker. “Monday, we were reacting to three days of extremely violent demonstrations. Right across from the White House, a lot of injuries to the police officers, arson,” Barr explained. “Things were so bad the Secret Service recommended the president go down to the bunker and we can’t have that in our country, so the decision was made. We had to move the perimeter one block and that is what we...
