Elon Musk's father has admitted he isn't proud of his billionaire son, doesn't drive a Tesla and explained why he married and had a baby with his stepdaughter in a candid radio interview.   Errol Musk, 76, called into the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Australian radio Monday morning for a bizarre 20-minute interview.  The father of the Tesla CEO told the hosts Elon had 'surpassed the mark' of what he deemed success but said the Musk family had 'been doing a lot of things for a long time'.   'Your offspring is a genius. He's worth so much money and has created so many things, you can't take that away from him. Are you proud?' one of the hosts asked.  He first deferred when asked where Elon got his genius from, suggesting it may have been the milk man who used to visit them rather than Errol or mother Maye.   Musk then declared he wasn't proud: 'No. You know, we are a family that have been doing a lot of things for a long time, it's not as if we...
'Mars needs people': Mark Cuban shares what Elon Musk told him about having children
Donald Trump said Saturday that Elon Musk previously told him that he voted for him despite the Tesla CEO claiming last month that his ballot for Mayra Flores was the first time he ever voted GOP. 'You know he said the other day, 'Oh, I've never voted for a Republican.' I said, 'I didn't know that. He told me he voted for me,' Trump said at his Alaska rally when speaking about Musk's Twitter deal falling through. 'So he's another bulls*** artist,' the former president said. 'But he's not gonna be buying [Twitter]. Although he might later, who the hell knows what's going to happen,' he added in the midst of his hour-and-a-half remarks in Anchorage, Alaska on Saturday. Musk, who now lives in Texas, said that he voted Republican for the first time in June's special election when he cast his ballot for Flores in her bid for the 34th congressional seat against Democrat Dan Sanchez. 'I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican,' Musk tweeted June 15. Massive red wave in 2022.' When a...
Elon Musk's model mother Maye has refused to wade in on her son's potential $44 billion Twitter takeover, insisting that the Tesla founder 'should do whatever he wants' when it comes to his controversial bid to buy the social media site.  Appearing on the Today show on Tuesday morning, the 74-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover star noted that she has attempted to advise Elon, 50, on his business dealings in the past, admitting that she urged him against diving into solar energy, electric cars, and rockets - but that he 'didn't listen to her'.  'He should do whatever he wants. I told him not to do an electric car as well as rockets and he didn't listen to me,' she told Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.  Musk revealed last month that he had launched a bid to buy Twitter for $44 billion back in April, however he said earlier this month that the deal was 'temporarily on hold' while he attempts to verify how many spam bot accounts currently make up for the site's overall usage.  Elon Musk's mother...
AOC has announced plans to ditch her Tesla, weeks after Elon Musk told her to stop flirting with him on Twitter.   The Green New Deal-backing Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, 32, told Bloomberg in an interview Wednesday that she wants to switch to an electronic car that is made domestically by unionized workers.  Currently, the only such vehicles she could consider are Ford's huge F-150 Lightning truck, which will be released later this year, or a Chevy Bolt.  The Democrat told the network that she purchased her Model 3 in 2020 around the time that the Covid-19 began.  AOC said that it was the only electric car that could get her from her Bronx-Queens district to the nation's capital on 'one, or one-and-half charges.'  AOC said that she purchased the Tesla Model 3 in order to drive from New York City to Washington DC at the beginning of the Covid pandemic AOC said the purchased the $35,000 car was because it was the only electric vehicle that could make the drive on less than two charges AOC's car was parked illegally near...
Donald Trump has lashed out at Elon Musk, calling the billionaire's $44 billion Twitter takeover 'probably illegal' in a post on his own competing social media network, Truth Social. In his post on Friday, Trump slammed Musk, claiming that he had lied when he recently said that he had previously voted Democrat but was switching his allegiance to the Republican Party. Musk had tweeted this week: 'In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.'  'Gee, Elon Musk never told me that until now he only voted for Democrats. Actually, it was quite the contrary,' wrote Trump in his Truth Social post. Donald Trump has lashed out at Elon Musk, calling the billionaire's $44 billion Twitter takeover 'probably illegal' in a post on his own competing social media network He continued: 'but now it seems, with all of his problems with a probably illegal purchase of a crummy phony account loaded company, Fake Twitter,...
Elon Musk says Twitter's legal team called him out after he revealed the company's process for checking fake accounts. On Friday, the Tesla founder said the company used a sample size of 100 to determine that five percent of its accounts are either fake, spam or duplicates. The social media giant did not take the disclosure well, Musk said.   'Twitter legal just called to complain that I violated their NDA by revealing the bot check sample size is 100! This actually happened,' he tweeted on Saturday. Musk has made eliminating bot accounts, which promote a particular product or point of view incessantly using similar messages across various profiles, a cornerstone of his pending $44 billion takeover. The South African-born mogul threw a wrench into the acquisition on Friday, when he said he wanted to pause the deal to verify that fake or spam accounts represented fewer than five percent of the company's 229 million users during the first quarter. Banned Twitter user Donald Trump, meanwhile, speculated that the deal won't go through because of Musk's concern about the bots at...
The South African billionaire told investors that he plans to grow Twitter from 217 million users in 2021 to 931 million in 2028. He believes that by 2025, Twitter Blue – the platform's $3 monthly subscription that provides additional features – will grow nicely to 69 million users. Musk is planning to fire 1,000 Twitter employees after he takes control of the social media network, according to the Daily Mail. However, the New York Times report claims that Musk will go on a hiring spree and have more than 11,000 employees by 2025 – a dramatic increase from the approximately 7,500 workers that Twitter currently has. Musk should have no issue filling job positions, according to a report. Daniel Zhao – a senior economist and data scientist at the job insights website Glassdoor – tweeted that following the announcement of Musk purchasing Twitter, interest in jobs on Twitter have skyrocketed 263% between April 24 to April 30, compared to the March 2022 baseline. There have been reports that current Twitter employees are "angry" and "going through...
One of Elon Musk's top lieutenants has reportedly promised an infamous right-wing provocateur that his Twitter ban will be lifted 'soon'. Jared Birchall, who runs Musk's personal investment office and has been a top advisor in his $44 billion Twitter takeover, made the promise in a text message to activist Charles C. Johnson, the Wall Street Journal reported. Johnson is a self-described investigative journalist who became famous for his internet pranks and campaigns targeting left-wing activists, politicians and reporters. Critics call him a 'digital Darth Vader' and the 'troll king'. He was banned from Twitter in 2015 for sending a fundraising appeal to support 'taking out' Black Lives Matter activist DeRay McKesson, who called the remark a 'serious threat' and asked for Johnson to be banned from the platform. Johnson insisted that he was using the term 'taking out' to refer to his plans to dig up dirt on McKesson, but Twitter sided with the BLM activist, banning Johnson under its policy against targeted harassment. Jared Birchall, who runs Musk's personal investment office and has been a top advisor in his $44...
In SEC filings, Musk declared, "I don’t have confidence in management nor do I believe I can drive the necessary change in the public market, I would need to reconsider my position as a shareholder." Musk purportedly plans to let go of Twitter's current CEO – Parag Agrawal. Musk allegedly already has a new Twitter chief executive lined up, but the report did not name the alleged candidate. "The company’s current CEO Parag Agrawal would also be set for a significant compensation package if the deal closes," TechCrunch reported. "If Musk were to bring in new management, Agrawal would receive $38.7 million due to a clause in his contract, according to the company’s latest proxy filing. Agrawal’s total compensation for 2021 was $30.4 million, largely in stock awards." Bloomberg reported on Thursday, "As he negotiated a $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter Inc. , Elon Musk told bankers that he would be focused on the social-media company's bottom line, and floated the idea of cutting both costs and jobs, according to people familiar with the matter." The Washington Post...
Elon Musk and James Franco will not testify at Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's bombshell defamation trial, sources have said. The A-listers were named by Heard's legal team on its list of potential witnesses, with both due to appear via video link. Heard began dating the Tesla founder around the time of her split with Depp in May 2016 and by August the following year they had broken up.  Meanwhile Franco was a close confidant of the actress, whom Depp suspected she was having an affair with. But sources told The Independent that neither Musk nor Franco will take the stand as Heard's legal team begin their defense next week. No reason was given for their absence. Under Virginia law there is no non-residents of the state can be forced to attend proceedings at the Fairfax County Circuit Court, either in person or via video-link. If a witness decides not to participate lawyers can instead draw upon their deposition as evidence if one had been given. In court this week, Depp's former agent Christian Carino, confirmed Musk and Heard were...

The company distributes a “Ride Script” to all new recruits, according to TechCrunch, which obtained the document through a public records request. The script, which touches on various questions that passengers might pose, tells drivers to avoid all questions about the company’s enigmatic, billionaire founder.  “This category of questions is extremely common and extremely sensitive,” the script reportedly says. “Public fascination with our founder is inevitable and may dominate the conversation. DOVER, Del. (AP) — A Delaware judge on Monday ordered lawyers representing Tesla Inc. directors to turn over certain communications that CEO Elon Musk may have shared with the company’s top in-house attorneys before the board approved a compensation plan in 2018 that could net Musk more than $50 billion. The ruling by Vice Chancellor Joseph Slights Jr. came in response to a motion to compel filed on behalf of shareholders who have accused Musk and Tesla’s board of directors of breaching their fiduciary duties to the Palo Alto-based company and its stockholders, granting unjust enrichment to Musk and wasting corporate assets. Signal appSignal Facebook's WhatsApp is changing its privacy policy on Feb. 8, when it will begin to share some user information with Facebook, including location, phone numbers, profile names and pictures, when you last logged online and more. People are now flocking to an alternative texting app called Signal that doesn't collect your data. According to Reuters, daily downloads have increased 18x since WhatsApp changed its privacy policy, topping more than 800,000 downloads daily. That was likely partially boosted by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who tweeted 'use Signal,' earlier this month. Signal, like WhatsApp, is a chat app that lets you message and call friends and family using end-to-end encryption, which means your messages are more protected and can't be easily read by anyone, including Signal itself. It supports group messages and other fun features you might already use in chat apps, like GIFs, videos and pictures. It even has encrypted group video calls, though supported is limited to five people right now. It's completely free and you can use it on iPhones, Android phones, Macs, Windows PCs and Linux....

Shares of an obscure and unrelated company called Signal Advance, which trades over the counter, surged 527% on Thursday and another 91% on Friday, climbing from 60 cents to $7.19. The Signal that Musk was referring to is operated by a nonprofit and serves as an alternative to texting apps like Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp and Apple's messaging service. That Signal took to Twitter on Friday to clarify that it has nothing to do with Signal Advance. "It's understandable that people want to invest in Signal's record growth, but this isn't us," Signal wrote. "We're an independent 501c3 and our only investment is in your privacy." It's a familiar issue on Wall Street. In April 2019, on the day Zoom Video Communications held...

In March, Alameda County officials told Tesla it was not exempt from an order requiring nonessential businesses to shut down -- but the carmaker continued operations claiming it was “national critical infrastructure.” Then in May, the tech boss announced on Twitter that he had planned to move Tesla to either Texas or Nevada when the electronic carmaker was told it could not reopen by California health officials, the New York Post reported. “Frankly, this is the final straw. Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada...
