FOR ALL of Arsenal’s attacking talent and youthful exuberance, it was always going to be their lack of defensive cover that could cost them. And after a complete capitulation against their North London rivals, this may well be the game that sees them lose grip on fourth. 2Arsenal defender Gabriel had to come off injured late on in the defeat to TottenhamCredit: Reuters 2Rob Holding was sent off in the first half as the Gunners lost 3-0 to rivals TottenhamCredit: AP Kieran Tierney’s absence since early March with a knee injury has caused chaos to the backline with no real left-back replacement. Nuno Tavares – a natural left-back – has proven not to be trusted in big games, so in this instance Mikel Arteta played right back Takehiro Tomiyasu in that role. Cedric Soares – again, not Arsenal’s first choice right-back – came in while Rob Holding continued at centre-back with Ben White only fit enough for the bench. Your frailties catch up with you eventually, and it did here for the Gunners in spectacularly catastrophic style thanks to Cedric...

BOSTON (CBS) – A problem at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles resulted in an ultimatum for 2,100 drivers who were told to come back and take a road test in the next two weeks or lose their license. LeBron James and NBA fans have talked about the possibility of playing with son Bronny James but the Lakers star needs two things for that. With LeBron James still performing for the Los Angeles Lakers like one of the premier players in the NBA along with the fact that his oldest son, Bronny James, is a rising high school basketball star set to head to college in just a couple of years, the notion of the father-son duo playing in the league together has been brought up plenty of times. However, the Lakers star and future Hall-of-Famer hasn’t spoken of it all that often. But after Bronny played in what was still the Staples Center at the time with Sierra Canyon this weekend (against LeBron’s alma mater, St. Vincent St. Mary’s, it was a pertinent question. Thus, reporters asked James about the possibility of playing with Bronny in the NBA and he said it was his son’s dream to make it to the league and that the “ultimate thing” for the two possibly playing together would be health and luck. (CNN)My family of five, which includes my three children -- ages 11, 9 and 7 -- were at a local state park. They wanted to check out the gift shop at the end of our visit. "Mom, this isn't the accessible entrance," my 7-year-old son said. "You need to ask someone where to go." My 9-year-old son is disabled and uses a wheelchair. The accessible entrance was locked, so we went to the main entrance, which had stairs. It matters to my kids that we are all able to get somewhere, not just those of us who can use the stairs. BURLESON, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – For Joe and Amber Holland, Halloween isn’t just a day to dress up and collect candy, but a day for their 11-year-old son Ben to no longer be recognized by his special needs, but by his incredible costume. “When you have special needs, you have a lot of needs typically and so sometimes that limits you,” said Ben’s mom, Amber Holland. “But this one night, there’s no limitations.” From an army tank, to a fire truck, his parents and two sisters create larger than life costumes that fit around his wheelchair. Ben Holland (credit: Holland family) “Just seeing the kids interact with him, and just treat him as just another friend…it’s the best thing in the world,” Joe Holland said. Every year, about five days before Halloween the crew gets started, spending an estimated 60 to 70 hours in his garage. They say the costumes are a way for Ben to express himself and to remind the other kids he’s just like them. “The Halloween costume is a great equalizer. It just takes the barriers down,”...

The Morris County community is coming together to support a local school teacher whose teen son was recently diagnosed with a rare nervous system cancer. DEAR ABBY: I have been married to my second husband for more than 15 years. My 30+-year-old son from my first marriage, who was born disabled, lives with us. He walks and talks, but cannot be left unattended. He also needs medication. He cannot read or write, but looks like he has no medical issues at all. Jeanne Phillips  I have no extended family members in the state. My husband and I were invited to a family wedding. However, my disabled son was not. Bride’s rule: No children allowed. I pointed out that he is older than she is. He sees this relative several times a year. Child care is hard to find and expensive. I do not know if others tried to get the bride to change her mind. My husband attended alone while my son and I spent the evening with friends and had fun. He didn’t say anything to cause a confrontation. DEAR HARRIETTE: My son’s girlfriend is getting way too comfortable at our house. I like to make everyone feel warm and welcome in my home, but she has definitely crossed the line. She’ll come over when he isn’t even home from work yet and will watch TV loudly in the living room, help herself to whatever is in the fridge and talk on the phone. Harriette Cole  She’s a very sweet girl, and I love having her over, but I think that boundaries need to be established at some point. I’ve asked my son to talk to her about it. While he claims that he will, I know that conversation may never happen because he isn’t confrontational. I don’t want to create hostility by confronting her myself; my son may never forgive me if I make her upset. How do I approach the situation and still maintain peace? A Fairfax County, Virginia, family is in quarantine after an elementary school student was exposed to a teaching assistant who tested positive for COVID-19. That student at Sleepy Hollow Elementary is in the individualized education program there, and was among the first group of students to return to classrooms last Tuesday, said the boy’s mother, Kolleen Kennedy. The boy was in school both Tuesday and Wednesday before the winter storm canceled Thursday classes and forced learning to go virtual on Friday. The school employee — who had been within 6 feet of her son for a time longer than 15 minutes — tested positive on Wednesday, Kennedy said, but she wasn’t notified until Sunday. And she wants to know why it took so long — because of potential exposures in her own home. “I panicked,” Kennedy said, “because I have a 76-year-old mother, who is around [the boy] all the time, and who was around him on Thursday, because she was helping me with him.” So now, Kennedy said, the family is in quarantine for two weeks. Though some parents...
A crash in which a Connecticut mom intentionally drove her son with special needs into Connecticut lake last summer has been ruled a murder-suicide, authorities said following a lengthy investigation. Connie Crowell, 54, of Monroe, was behind the wheel of an SUV, with her 22-year-old son John Crowell in the passenger's seat, when she steered the vehicle into the Housatonic River in Seymour on July 31, 2020. A nearby boater trying to rescue the Crowells said the driver refused to acknowledge or accept the boater's assistance and rescue efforts, Seymour Deputy Police Chief Roberto Rinaldi said. The SUV sank into approximately 20 feet of water and ultimately overturned approximately 75 yards from the riverbank, Fox61 previously reported. Crowell and her son both drowned. Crowell, a longtime resident of Monroe, was known for her civic passion and was employed at Playtots Preschool in Easton as a teacher. John, affectionately known as "Jack," was remembered as a happy kid -- always smiling, school district officials told the Monroe Sun.
