Furious Kremlin propagandists have called for nuclear strikes on the West in response to the expected decision to supply Ukraine with dozens of modern tanks. Russia branded the move a 'blatant provocation' and one raging Putin mouthpiece called for the Bundestag to be destroyed after weeks of bitter rows between Germany and NATO allies looked set to finally resolve. Around 30 M1 Abrams tanks will be sent from the US, while Berlin will initially supply 14 Leopard 2 tanks, and give permission for other NATO countries to deliver their own to Ukraine. Russian storage facilities have around 10,200 tanks, while an estimated 3,300 have been deployed in Ukraine, with 1,640 destroyed. Volodymyr Zelensky's officials hailed the move as a 'punching fist' for democracy, while Russia had previously warned it would cause a 'global catastrophe' and escalate the war beyond Ukraine's borders.  German soldiers carry out exercises with the Leopard 2 battle tank which could soon be deployed in Ukraine RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next Zelensky heaps the pressure on the West by saying Ukraine... German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said over the weekend that the government "would not stand in the way" of other European allies from providing Ukraine with their own German-made Leopard 2 tanks. Berlin has refused to provide its own tanks to date despite pleas from Ukrainian officials, showing a rift among Ukraine's allies across the globe. CIA DIRECTOR VISITED KYIV TO MEET WITH UKRAINIAN LEADERS ABOUT RUSSIA'S PLANS Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Monday that his country would ask Berlin for permission to provide its tanks to Ukraine, but he wants the donation to be a part of a broader coalition. "Even if we did not get this approval ... we would still transfer our tanks together with others to Ukraine," he explained, according to the Polish Press Agency. "The condition for us at the moment is to build at least a small coalition of countries." A day earlier, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said their decision as to whether to provide their tanks would be made "soon." German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, front, leaves after a...
Vladimir Putin's newly-appointed military commander in Ukraine has seen a collapse in support just 12 days into the job after he brought in 'farcical' new rules ordering troops to shave.   General Valery Gerasimov, Russia's Chief of the General Staff of the armed forces, has been criticised by those within his own ranks for being 'out of touch' by prioritising troops' appearances over combat training. Gerasimov, who was put in charge of troops fighting in Ukraine only 12 days ago on January 11, was ridiculed for his focus on troops being clean-shaven amid heavy Russian casualties on the battlefield in Ukraine.   Britain's defence ministry today said that since Gerasimov took command, Russian officers have been attempting to clamp down on non-regulation uniform, travel in civilian vehicles, the use of mobile phones and non-standard haircuts. The Biden administration's latest security aid package to Ukraine has brought the total amount of military aid provided to Kyiv since Russia invaded last February to more than $26 billion. The newest package, which was announced on Thursday, was valued at up to $2.5 billion, and it represents one of the largest aid packages to date. It is the administration's 13th drawdown of equipment from Department of Defense inventories. It was headlined with the inclusion of hundreds of armored vehicles and critical air defense support. CIA DIRECTOR VISITED KYIV TO MEET WITH UKRAINIAN LEADERS ABOUT RUSSIA'S PLANS It includes 90 Stryker armored personnel carriers and 59 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles, which, when combined with the 50 Bradleys that were included in the aid package from earlier this month, will give Ukrainian forces two brigades of armored capability. Eight Avenger air defense systems and additional munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems were included in the package as well. Each package is designed to meet Ukraine's current and upcoming needs, so the contents of them have shifted over the course of...
Russia's parliament officials warned that nations that are arming Ukraine with more powerful weapons risk their own destruction, which would lead to 'a global catastrophe'.  The message followed Ukraine's supporters pledging billions in military aid to the country on Friday, including armoured vehicles, air defence systems and other equipment.  This did not include the battle tanks Kyiv had previously requested.  State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said: 'Supplies of offensive weapons to the Kyiv regime would lead to a global catastrophe.'  Russian officials have warned that nations arming Ukraine with more powerful weapons risk their own destruction State Duma chairman Vyacheslav Volodin said: 'Supplies of offensive weapons to the Kyiv regime would lead to a global catastrophe' RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next Boris Johnson signs his name on Ukrainian anti-armour weapon... Germany's refusal to send tanks to Ukraine is ‘pathetic’ and threatens its ‘credibility as an ally’, a British former Nato chief warned last night. General Sir Richard Shirreff told The Mail on Sunday that Berlin was ‘ducking its responsibility’ to help defeat Vladimir Putin’s army, as he compared the despotic Russian leader to Adolf Hitler. ‘Germany’s behaviour is absolutely calling into question its credibility as a Nato ally,’ he said. His damning comments heaped further pressure on German chancellor Olaf Scholz, who has refused to send Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The past 12 months have forced European leaders to seriously rethink their approach to national security. If Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has confirmed one thing, it’s that peace on the continent cannot be taken for granted. The status quo — decades of low spending and defense not being a policy priority — cannot continue. This is especially true in Germany, which has for years spent far less on its military than many of its Western allies but is now reconsidering its approach to defense at home and abroad. Days after the invasion began last February, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz delivered a head-turning speech to parliament in which he committed to spending €100 billion ($108 billion) to modernize Germany’s military capacity. He also vowed that Germany would lift its defense spending to 2% of GDP — meeting a target set by NATO that it had missed for years — and end its deep reliance on Russian energy, particularly gas. However, nearly a year on, critics say Scholz’s vision has failed to become reality. And Germany has been accused of dragging its...

In response Volodymyr Zelensky has sought more military aid and in particular the Leopard 2 tank, which the Ukrainians say will replace their aging tanks and given them an edge on the battlefield. Ukraine needs 300 tanks to push them into full retreat.  Britain and others are supplying some but  Germany appears not only unwilling but is barring others from sending the Leopards. Britain was praised last night for its decisive commitment to send battle tanks to Ukraine. As Germany continued to drag its feet over following suit with its own military hardware, the US saluted the UK for its leadership. Berlin’s reluctance to allow its main battle tank, the Leopard 2, to join the fight against Russia has exposed cracks in Nato. But US defence secretary Lloyd Austin said this was a ‘decisive moment for Ukraine’s ability to defend itself’ and praised Britain for its leadership in pledging to send 14 Challenger 2s. ALLIES pledged yesterday to give Ukraine hundreds of heavy weapons — but lily-livered Germany refused to lift a ban on sending its Leopard 2 tanks. US General Mark Milley said armaments from Britain, France, Sweden, the Baltic states and the US would help liberate “significant” territory. 1German-made Leopard 2 tanks, the world’s best, were left off the tableCredit: AFP But he warned it would be “very, very difficult” to completely repel Russia and tip the war in Kyiv’s favour if German-made Leopard 2 tanks, the world’s best, were left off the table. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz fears triggering World War Three if he pits the tanks against Vladimir Putin. Berlin is refusing to authorise other countries to re-export them to Ukraine. Many of the at least 13 nations which use them want to send some and Poland has vowed to ignore the ban if Germany fails to back down. Ukraine will have an incredibly difficult time pushing Russia out of its territory this year, Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Friday, and he reiterated his belief that the war will most likely end at the negotiating table. Milley provided his most recent perspective on the war in Ukraine during a press conference with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin in Germany following a high-stakes meeting at Ramstein Air Base with defense leaders from roughly 50 countries. The Defense Contact Group convenes monthly to discuss the latest developments in the war, and this was its eighth meeting. CIA DIRECTOR VISITED KYIV TO MEET WITH UKRAINIAN LEADERS ABOUT RUSSIA'S PLANS "From a military standpoint, I still maintain that for this year, it would be very, very difficult to militarily eject the Russian forces from every inch of Russian-occupied Ukraine," he said, noting that future Ukrainian battlefield successes would be contingent upon the delivery and training of the newly allocated security aid to Ukraine from the United States and other Western countries. "What can happen is...
By LOLITA C. BALDOR and TARA COPP (Associated Press) RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany (AP) — Defense leaders meeting at a U.S. air base in Germany on Friday failed to resolve divisions over providing advanced battle tanks to Ukraine after more than five hours of discussions about sending more military aid to the embattled country in its war with Russia. The defense minister of Poland, which has pledged a company of 14 Leopard tanks on condition that other countries also supply them, said 15 countries that have the German-made Leopards discussed the issue but no decisions were made. Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak called the meeting a “good discussion among allies” and said the matter would be discussed again at future talks. Germany would need to consent for the tanks to be given to Ukraine, which is not a member of NATO. Despite pleas from Ukrainian officials, Germany has so far resisted mounting pressure to quickly supply Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv, or at least clear the way for other countries, such as Poland, to deliver them from their...
CIA Director William Burns recently and discretely traveled to Kyiv where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his intelligence counterparts to discuss Russia's expected military maneuvers. Burns, who visited back in October and November of last year as well, was in Ukraine for the meetings at the end of last week, which comes as U.S. officials are monitoring a possible Russian offensive in the coming months, according to the Washington Post. RUSSIA HAS 'NO CHANCE' TO 'ACHIEVE THEIR STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES,' DOD OFFICIAL SAYS "Director Burns traveled to Kyiv where he met with Ukrainian intelligence counterparts as well as President Zelensky and reinforced our continued support for Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression," a U.S. official told the Washington Examiner. Burns, per the Washington Post, discussed his expectations for Russia's supposed military offensive, and his previous warnings, such as that Russia would look to capture Ukraine's Antonov Airport in the early stages of the war, have proven correct, and that message is credited with helping Ukraine prepare for what became its successful defense of the airport. Ukraine is bracing itself for a major Russian offensive within weeks as Vladimir Putin bids to turn the tide of the war with a devastating three-pronged assault. An advisor to Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed Kyiv is anticipating an attack from the north in Belarus, from Russian strongholds of Donetsk and Luhansk in the east, and in the south from the Crimean peninsula. If successful, Moscow's troops would encircle the defending forces in the pincer movement which would drive back Ukraine after a series of advances in recent months. Rustem Umerov, a member of Zelensky's negotiating team, told the Daily Beast: 'Russians are encircling us from 240 degrees, attacking from the Black Sea, from Belarus and the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. New German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said his country is "ready" to move to send tanks to Ukraine if a deal among international leaders is approved. Pistorius, who assumed the role earlier this week following the resignation of his predecessor, has become a lightning rod of sorts amid the Western world's race to Ukraine. Berlin has refused to provide Ukraine with its Leopard-2 tanks and has barred roughly a dozen other European countries that possess them from providing them to Ukraine as well, though reports have emerged that they would do so only if the United States provided tanks as well. RUSSIA HAS 'NO CHANCE' TO 'ACHIEVE THEIR STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES,' DOD OFFICIAL SAYS "As far as the delivery of the Leopard is concerned, there is no unanimous opinion," Pistorius said on the sidelines of a defense leaders' meeting at Ramstein Air Base in Germany on Friday, though he added they're "ready to move quickly" if a consensus is made. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin implored his international counterparts to redouble their efforts to arm Ukraine ahead of what officials expect to be a Russian offensive in the coming months. Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley are currently in Germany, where, on Friday, they will participate in the eighth meeting of the Defense Contact Group, an effort Austin has spearheaded. The group, which is made up of roughly 50 defense leaders globally, meets monthly to discuss the latest developments in the war and how they can best assist Ukraine. RUSSIA HAS 'NO CHANCE' TO 'ACHIEVE THEIR STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES,' DOD OFFICIAL SAYS “We need to dig even deeper. Allies of Ukraine are set to meet Friday to coordinate assisting the war-torn Eastern European country with more arms in its defense against Russia. The meeting comes just one day after the Kremlin warned NATO that supplying heavy and long-range weapons to Ukraine would escalate the war to a "whole new level." RUSSIA PREPARING MAJOR NEW OFFENSIVE IN COMING MONTHS: REPORT The U.S. announced Thursday a major military aid package to Ukraine valued at up to $2.5 billion. The Kremlin warned NATO that supplying heavy and long-range weapons to Ukraine would escalate the war to a "whole new level." The newest warning came from Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov as he spoke with reporters about the possible shipment of heavy Western tanks and long-range missiles to the Ukrainian military. "Potentially, this is extremely dangerous. It will mean bringing the conflict to a whole new level, which, of course, will not bode well from the point of view of global and pan-European security," Peskov told reporters, according to the Moscow Times. The Department of Defense announced a major military aid package to Ukraine valued up to $2.5 billion on Thursday evening. This package is headlined with the inclusion of 90 Stryker Armored Personnel Carriers (APCs) with 20 mine rollers and 59 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs) with 590 TOW anti-tank missiles and 295,000 rounds of 25mm ammunition. This “will provide Ukraine with two brigades of armored capability,” when combining it with the 50 Bradleys that were included in the previously most recent aid package, according to a Pentagon announcement. Eight Avenger air defense systems and additional munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS) were included in the package as well and it will “help Ukraine counter a range of short and medium range threats and bolster Ukraine’s layered air defense,” the readout said. RUSSIA HAS 'NO CHANCE' TO 'ACHIEVE THEIR STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES,' DOD OFFICIAL SAYS The Biden administration opted not to provide Ukraine with either long-range missiles, surface-to-surface long-range missile systems (ATACMs), or Abrams tanks. The Kremlin has doubled down on a threat made by Vladimir Putin's close ally Dmitry Medvedev, who said the defeat of Russia on the battlefield in Ukraine could trigger a nuclear war with the West. Following up on his warning on Thursday, Moscow confirmed his incendiary remarks were in full accordance with Russia's nuclear doctrine. The former Russian president appeared to be warning NATO leaders to halt supplies of major new arms to Kyiv, as Western allies meet at the Ramstein Air Base Germany on Friday with the focus on whether Berlin will allow its Leopard 2 battle tanks to be supplied to Kyiv to help drive out Russian forces. Ukraine will reclaim Crimea, President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed, calling the peninsular annexed by Russia in 2014 'our land' in an address on Thursday. Speaking in Davos, Ukraine's wartime leader also criticised hesitation by Germany about supplying its modern Leopard tanks, with reports saying Berlin will only provide them if the US offers its Abrams tanks as well. The US has said it is not 'there yet'. 'There are times where we shouldn't hesitate or shouldn't compare. When someone says 'I will give tanks if someone else will also share tanks',' Zelensky told an audience in Davos by videolink. 'I don't think this is the right strategy to go with.' Speaking late on Wednesday, the president said that there were 'several' theories being investigated to explain a helicopter crash that killed the country's interior minister and 13 others earlier in Kyiv. Defense leaders from nearly 50 countries will convene in Germany on Friday to discuss how they can best help Ukraine defeat Russia. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley will lead the eighth meeting, and the fifth in-person, of the Defense Contact Group since Russia invaded Ukraine nearly 11 months ago. "The Contact Group has been instrumental in identifying, synchronizing, and ensuring delivery of the military capabilities the Ukrainians need to defend their homeland against Russian aggression," said Pentagon spokesman Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder at a briefing on Tuesday. NATO ALLIES 'SHATTERED' GERMANY'S 'EXCUSE' NOT TO SEND TANKS TO UKRAINE Ryder expects air defense, tanks, and artillery to be topics for them to discuss further, he said last week, noting that a major factor in these conversations is the ability to train Ukrainian forces on the weapons, and how to sustain and maintain them. "Part of the factor … the equation that goes into that is the ability to train on this equipment, sustain it, and maintain it," he...
A new Leopard 2 A7V heavy battle tank, the most advanced version of the German-made tank.Sean Gallup | Getty Images News | Getty Images Ukraine has repeatedly asked its Western allies to provide it with battle tanks to help it fight Russia but up until now, its Western allies appeared reluctant to do so, fearing the provision of offensive weapons could provoke Moscow further. After months of pressure on the likes of Berlin and Washington to provide such hardware, however, that reluctance could be about to change, experts note, and some announcements could be made when Ukrainian and Western officials meet later this week in Germany to discuss the country's pressing military needs. "My understanding is that a deal has essentially been worked out," John E. Herbst, senior director of the Atlantic Council's Eurasia Center and a former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, told CNBC Monday. "We know that the laggard here has been Germany, and it seems that the Germans have now been persuaded that one, they'll let other countries which have Leopard tanks send them to Ukraine — that, I'm confident...
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz faces growing pressure at home and abroad to grant Ukraine access to German-made main battle tanks following the United Kingdom’s decision to provide a squadron of Challenger IIs. “I think it becomes more and more untenable to say we will block this,” Germany’s Reinhard Butikofer, a senior member of the European Parliament, told the Washington Examiner. "As long as nobody else volunteered to provide such tanks, Germany could argue ... ‘We don't want to move just alone on our own.’ But now, everybody else is willing to move.” Scholz has proven to be one of Europe’s most hesitant leaders when it comes to sending heavy weapons to Ukraine, to the disappointment of central and Eastern European governments that have opened their arsenals to Kyiv. Ukrainian officials have tried to acquire dozens of German-made Leopard tanks throughout the war, but Berlin has refused to transfer the tanks and blocked other countries from doing the same on the grounds that it would be inappropriate for German tanks to arrive on the battlefield if other Western countries have not...
The US military has launched a new, expanded combat training program in Germany to bolster the skills of Ukrainian forces fighting Russia's invasion. The program, which began on Sunday, aims to get a battalion of about 500 troops back on the battlefield to fight the Russians in the next five to eight weeks, said General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The training program comes as both Ukraine and Russia prepare to enter an intense new phase of the war this spring, with Ukraine fielding new tanks supplied by NATO countries, and Russia completing its mass mobilization of hundreds of thousands of conscripted troops.  Milley, who plans to visit the Grafenwoehr training area on Monday to get a first-hand look at the program, said the troops being trained left Ukraine a few days ago. Russia has manufactured its first batch of high-speed Poseidon drones said to be capable of wiping out entire coastlines with radioactive tsunamis, it was reported today. The weapon, which could reportedly cause a 1,640ft tsunami, is alleged to have a unlimited range, although details of its unique 125mph underwater propulsion system have been a closely guarded Russian secret. The development came as a Vladimir Putin loyalist called on state TV for Britain to be 'demolished from the face of the Earth' as it prepares to supply Ukraine with Challenger 2 tanks. Retired general Andrey Gurulev claimed on Rossiya 1 that the deployment of British and German tanks 'to kill us' amounts to crossing a red line. The Kremlin said on Monday that any British tanks sent to Ukraine will 'burn' on the battlefield and warned military aid 'will not aid the situation on the ground' but instead only serve to prolong the on-going invasion. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s requests for additional Western military aid have gained urgency as Western officials monitor Russia’s plans to mobilize a massive force of new conscripts to attack Ukraine. “We have this appeal from Ukrainian leadership to help them to defend [Ukraine] in case Russia will come again with a big, big force ... this is what we will most probably see in the springtime,” a senior European official told the Washington Examiner. SOUTH KOREA FEARS RUSSIA WILL INSPIRE 'ROGUE NATIONS' IN REGION That expectation has figured into the recent trans-Atlantic decisions about how to continue to arm Ukraine, as U.S. and Western European states have begun to authorize the provision of NATO-origin light tanks and armored vehicles previously not available to Ukrainian forces. Those Western deliberations have continued alongside a drumbeat of Ukrainian warnings that Russia, despite the heavy losses it has sustained over the last year and the organizational challenges to the fall mobilization, plans to conduct an even more ambitious draft. “About 500,000 more Russians will join the Russian Armed Forces, which will allow the terrorist...
Poland will send a company of Leopard tanks to Ukraine, President Andrzej Duda announced on Wednesday, but only if other Western countries participate, too. A military expert says it is 'perfectly possible for Ukraine to win the war this year' if its military science continues to outmatch that of Russia. Ever since Putin's invasion of Ukraine on February 24 last year, President Volodymyr Zelensky has successfully lobbied Western allies for modern armoured vehicles to repel the occupiers. Through the course of the conflict, Ukraine has gradually surpassed its invaders with technology allowing for a devastating fightback. President Joe Biden announced that the U.S. will provide Ukraine's armed forces with armored combat vehicles. The president made the announcement about the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles on Thursday in a joint statement with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who also pledged to provide Ukraine with Marder Infantry Fighting Vehicles. Both leaders said their countries will provide Ukrainians training on how to use the tanks. US BAFFLED BY 'AMOUNT OF RUSSIAN BLOOD' WAGNER GROUP HAS SPILLED TO CAPTURE BAKHMUT Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has asked for tanks, though the U.S. and western countries have been reluctant to provide some weapons to Ukraine due to the perceived potential for Russian retaliation or escalation. "In light of Russia’s ongoing missile and drone attacks against Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, President Biden and Chancellor Scholz affirmed their intention to further support Ukraine’s urgent requirement for air defense capabilities," the readout said. "In late December, the United States announced its donation of a Patriot air defense missile battery to Ukraine. Germany will join the United States in supplying an additional Patriot air defense battery to Ukraine."...
French President Emmanuel Macron has agreed to send “wheeled tanks” to Ukraine, a milestone arms transfer that could set a precedent for other Western states. “We will receive more armored vehicles, in particular wheeled tanks of French production,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday. “This is what sends a clear signal to all our other partners: there is no rational reason why Ukraine has not yet been supplied with Western-type tanks.” US BAFFLED BY 'AMOUNT OF RUSSIAN BLOOD' WAGNER GROUP HAS SPILLED TO CAPTURE BAKHMUT Zelensky has campaigned for heavy Western weaponry since the beginning of the war in the face of U.S. and Western European efforts to balance aid to Ukraine against the perceived potential for retaliation from Russia. Those calibrations have led to a refusal to provide Ukraine with Western-made tanks and aircraft, even as NATO’s Central and Eastern European members transfer their legacy Soviet equipment, making Macron’s decision a watershed — even though the vehicles in question are only AMX-10 RC “light tanks” that date from 1981. “It is the first time that Western-designed tanks are supplied...

Russia's military may never recover from the damage it has suffered in Ukraine, the Pentagon has said.  Colin Kahl, the under secretary for defence, revealed half of Vladimir Putin's tanks have been destroyed and most of his precision missiles used up since he ordered the invasion a little over eight months ago. Sanctions mean it will be 'very difficult' for Moscow to rebuild its forces to their pre-war strength, Kahl added, before even taking into account the 'tens of thousands of casualties' suffered since February 24. Russia has lost half its tanks and most of its precision missiles in Ukraine and will find it 'very difficult' to replace them, then Pentagon has said Speaking to CNN, he said: 'Putin has failed. Russia will emerge from this war weaker than it went in.... 'Putin went into this war trying to extinguish Ukraine as an independent, sovereign democratic country. He's failed, and that's not going to change.  'A sovereign, independent, democratic Ukraine is going to endure.' The true scale of Russia's losses in Ukraine are unclear, but are thought to be high.  Moscow...
The Biden administration has “no objection” to the idea of Germany sending main battle tanks to Ukraine. “On the question of tanks, we have no objection,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters in Muenster, Germany. “In fact, we support any country, if it so decides, making those available if we make a determination that that can really help Ukraine and meet a need.” Germany has declined to open its arsenal of Leopard tanks to Ukraine on the grounds that no other NATO allies have provided such Western-made systems. Blinken’s comment could lend itself to appeals from Kyiv and the central European members of NATO for Berlin to provide more assistance, but the top U.S. diplomat was careful to strike a complimentary note about Germany’s support for Ukraine. “I can only applaud what Germany has done in defense of Ukraine these past almost nine months,” Blinken said. “Germany has been one of Ukraine’s largest donors, including lethal security assistance. It’s played a hugely important humanitarian role, hosting more than a million Ukrainian refugees.” RUSSIA EXPOSES GERMANY'S WEAKNESS Germany has drawn...
Russia is now Ukraine's largest arms supplier and fully half of its tank fleet was likely captured from Moscow's men, it has been revealed on Putin's 70th birthday.  Ukraine's rout of Russia's armies in Kharkiv oblast last month yielded huge amounts of gear, meaning more than 400 tanks, 600 armoured vehicles, and 44 multiple-launch rocket systems have been captured in working or near-working condition. It means that, in terms of pure numbers, Russia is now easily the largest supplier of weapons to Ukraine - outpacing all other allies combined. British military intelligence believes that half of Ukraine's tank fleet may now be made up of vehicles that Russia's demoralised troops effectively handed over.  Ukrainian troops open fire using a captured Russian 152.4 mm Msta-B howitzer and supplies of Soviet-era artillery taken from Putin's troops Ukrainian tank crews stand on top of a captured Russian tank in Kharkiv oblast, where hundreds of vehicles were left behind in working or near-working condition A Ministry of Defence update this morning said: 'Re-purposed or captured Russian equipment now makes up a lar proportion of Ukraine's...

Russians are showing their support for Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine by branding themselves with the 'Z' symbol using a red hot poker. Nexta, a Belarusian media outlet, shared a video on their official Twitter account which featured a shirtless man being branded on his chest.  The letter 'Z' has become a sinister symbol marking support for Russia's barbaric invasion of Ukraine with comparisons to the Nazi's swastika. This is the moment a Russian tank is blown to smithereens by a Javelin anti-tank guided missile in Ukraine.  Video shows how the tank is caught in the missile system's crosshairs before the projectile soars through the air and meets its target. The US-made Javelin missile can be seen flying from a height before slamming down on the tank from above - known as a 'curveball shot' - and sparking a huge fireball explosion.
