AUTO dealerships can use shady sales tactics since they control their selling prices. Fortunately, there’s a way to recognize these sales traps and avoid getting ripped off. 2Auto dealership lotCredit: Getty If a car salesperson asks you what your monthly vehicle financing budget is, don’t be so quick to answer. If you tell a car sales representative that you can pay $700 a month for a vehicle — the dealership may try to give you a financing deal that’s $700 a month on a more expensive car, NerdWallet reports. Your best move is to discuss a vehicle’s price instead of a monthly payment. Joe Scarborough blasted The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board during a broad tear into the latest defenses Donald Trump’s allies have used to defend the former president over the classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago. Morning Joe started things off on Monday by discussing Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) promising “riots in the street” if Trump is indicted, plus Roy Blunt (R-MO) using Hillary Clinton’s emails as a deflection. Scarborough took them both on, saying Graham “admitted the truth” that Republicans don’t believe the law applies to Trump, and he accused Blunt of deliberately ignoring the media’s reporting on Clinton’s email scandal. “Where have you been, Roy Blunt?” Scarborough asked. “Oh, wait a second, you were wallowing in it! You were basking in it! Republicans were basking in it. They loved it. They loved the FBI. When James Comey, ten days before the election, sent a letter that they knew, that Donald Trump knew, would throw the election his way.” As Scarborough poured through the classification levels on the Mar-a-Lago documents, he eventually brought up the WSJ editorial board’s recent opinion piece...
You may imagine the perfect first date should include flowers, candles and perhaps some sultry background music to set the mood. My first date must-have, however, is something rather different: a list of 20 questions for any potential suitor, enabling me efficiently to weed out any dating duds, and easily identify those precious ‘keepers’. Among other things, my dating questionnaire allows me to discover whether my potential Mr Right likes quinoa or chips, is in bed by 9.30pm, like myself, and, vitally, whether he speaks kindly of his mother. On a deeper level, it helps me quickly establish a picture of the heart and soul of the man, whether he is trustworthy and if we might be compatible. Time is of the essence when you get to 54 and are still single, after all! Clearly, I am very fussy when it comes to dating. But why shouldn’t we women of a certain age be fussy? After all, I’ve been dating for nearly half my life, now, and simply haven’t the time or patience to leave much to chance any more....
"You can keep it," Abdullah replied. In her Twitter biography, Abdullah describes herself as a "#BlackLivesMatter organizer." Touré has contended that Juneteenth should be marked by everyone. "Juneteenth isn't just for Black people. If you believe slavery was wrong then you should celebrate the end of slavery," Touré tweeted on Wednesday. "Here's why white people should be part of Juneteenth celebrations—because white people should be acknowledging that slavery happened. Many of them would love to not do that. It's valuable for us to have them acknowledge it and see it as something that still impacts us today," he wrote. "Slavery isn't Black history. It's American history. If we restrict it to Black history and restrict Juneteenth to Black people then we allow white people to escape having to think about it," he declared. \u201cJuneteenth isn't just for Black people. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre found herself joking to Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy about inviting him to the beach with President Joe Biden this weekend in Delaware. At Thursday’s press briefing, Doocy began his contentious questioning of Jean-Pierre by floating the suggestion that the President negotiate gun reform by bringing legislators to Rehoboth Beach with him. Jean-Pierre and Doocy traded wisecracks before returning to the weightier subject at hand: MR. DOOCY: Thanks, Karine. If the President thinks that Congress must act immediately to end this epidemic of gun violence, is he going to bring any of the key players from Capitol Hill to the beach with him tonight? MS. JEAN-PIERRE: Oh, okay. So, I don’t have any — MR. DOOCY: But wasn’t a big part of candidate Biden’s whole thing that he “knows how to get things done with Congress”? MS. JEAN-PIERRE: He does. He does. I mean, he’s beaten the gun lobby before. He has. But — MR. DOOCY: Then why not invite these lawmakers who maybe haven’t beat the gun law — MS. JEAN-PIERRE: But...

NYC Mayor Eric Adams chastised a dad who took him to task over ongoing facemask rules for under 5s, saying: 'Don't yell, you'll send the wrong message to your kids.' Adams was filmed scolding the unnamed dad outside the Pig n' Whistle pub in Midtown Manhattan as he celebrated St Patrick's Day in the Big Apple. 'Talk to me, don't yell. You send the wrong message to your daughter,' Adams said, scolding the father. 'I got this. They'll be unmasked.' He did not say when that would happen. The dad, whose initial outburst was not caught on camera, then responded politely to Adams thanking him for answering.  Adams visit to the pub was marred by multiple parents demanding to know when their young children would be allowed to remove the face coverings they must still wear at school.     They must continue to wear the face coverings because COVID vaccines haven't been approved for under-5's, even though youngsters have been shown to be at extremely low risk from serious COVID infections.   Eric Adams is filmed telling a NYC dad to stop...

Sen. Joe Manchin, W. Va., has grown impatient with reporters over their repeated questions about the filibuster, saying they "ask the same question every day." Manchin has come under pressure from left-wing Democrats and liberal media members to change his mind about preserving the filibuster, which means Democrats need 60 votes to end debate and force votes on key issues. He has repeatedly said he will never vote to weaken or eliminate the filibuster rule. "I’m not separating our country, OK?" Manchin said last week. Judge Jeanine Pirro launched an attack on Democrats and others who are telling President Donald Trump and his supporters to accept that he lost the election to Joe Biden at the top of her Fox News show on Saturday night.  Pirro's rant came hours after tens of thousands of Trump fans marched through Washington DC to show support for the president's unsubstantiated claims of election fraud.  The host listed off some of those claims and insisted that Trump has no obligation to concede until they are investigated fully.  'We'll pursue all legal avenues where there are irregularities, anomalies, illegalities and corruptions, and until the certification and the electors vote, that is not a lot to ask,' she said of herself and other Trump supporters.   'So don't you dare ask us to just accept it and move on, and don't you dare tell me I'm being un-American by questioning what even a Supreme Court justice has put a hold on. Saturday on Fox News Channel’s “Justice,” Jeanine Pirro decried critics of those raising questions about the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election and argued there were numerous areas of concern that warranted those questions. Pirro declared the media do not call elections and that it was an obligation for President Donald Trump’s supporters to seek answers. Transcript as follows: PIRRO: The most important part of democracy is to do it correctly. Most important question tonight is, did we in 2020? There is no magic in electing a President. Americans do it every four years, just as our Founding Fathers planned. Yet, this is a life-changing moment in American history. America will either go one way or the other. And so it not only requires but demands all due diligence be exercised in this highly contested presidential election. There is both an ethical and the legal obligation to the 73 million Americans, the highest number ever to vote for a sitting President to assure them that every legal vote is counted and not diluted in any way. Wouldn’t that be something...

For three days, extracts from Barbara Amiel’s new autobiography Friends And Enemies have rampaged across the pages of this newspaper. Jaws dropped and eyeballs popped as Lady Black unpacked her life; pegging out her dirty laundry with a boiling honesty one could only admire, especially given the ferocity of her critics over the years. Indeed, when her fourth husband Conrad Black was jailed on charges of fraud and obstruction of justice in 2007, you could have floated many a boat on the universal gloat. ‘The fall of Conrad Black,’ said the Wall Street Journal, ‘is being received in Britain with almost as much glee as the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo.’ So alongside her startling confessions of sexual buccaneering and lavish spending, she also sets about her foes with gusto, picking them off like a perfumed sniper. Lawyers should be strangled at birth. Anyone who ‘persecuted’ her and her husband should be injected with Ebola virus so she can watch them die. Democratic Georgia state Rep. Columnist Amy Dickinson (Bill Hogan/Chicago Tribune)  We recently adopted a 3-year-old rescue dog after our previous dog died. This might seem like a silly question, but my wife is annoyed because sometimes at dinnertime I will ask whether or not our new dog has been fed. Initially (unbeknownst to me) she assumed the job of dog feeder and says that others (me) checking to see if the dog has been fed is insulting. Feeding our previous dog was generally a shared responsibility, so asking whether he was fed was relatively common.
