President Joe Biden is expected to speak with Chinese President Xi Jinping over the phone Thursday, according to multiple reports. The conversation is expected to take place amid rising tensions between the United States and China, escalated by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) planning to visit Taiwan, which China claims as its territory. CHINA THREAT: MILITARY ‘WON’T SIT IDLY BY’ IF PELOSI VISITS TAIWAN Biden had said to reporters at an event last week that he would be speaking with Xi "within the next 10 days." China's military has been getting "noticeably more aggressive," according to Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, per remarks he made Sunday. The increased aggression by China has led to concerns over the safety of Taiwan. Pelosi has received support from various U.S. politicians to go forward with her planned trip to Taiwan, whereas Chinese officials have warned that such a visit would be considered interference with their "territorial integrity." Hunter Biden's payments to a Ukrainian woman linked to an Eastern European escort ring were flagged by JPMorgan Chase in late 2018 and early 2019 in a report filed with the federal government, according to a new report. Hunter spent over $30,000 on escorts, many of whom were linked to ".ru" Russian email addresses, who worked with a "model agency" called UberGFE between November 2018 and March 2019, the Washington Examiner previously reported. Biden claimed to members of his family that he was broke during that time, but he was able to make payments to the escorts thanks in part to President Joe Biden committing to wiring him a total of $100,000 to help pay his bills from December 2018 through January 2019. The release of the "Suspicious Activity Report," or "SAR," comes after top Republican senators demanded that the Department of Justice in a letter Thursday investigate Joe Biden's apparently unwitting financing of his son's participation in the Eastern European escort ring. "I feel like the stimulus checks came out and that was the last win of his administration," Democrat Milan Ramsey said about the president, according to the Associated Press. Joe Biden has seen his support among Hispanics plummet in the past 12 months, with only 26 percent of those polled approving of the job he is doing in a new survey - a decrease of more than half. The president was elected with a 59 percent majority of the Hispanic vote, with Donald Trump winning 38 percent. In the first spring of his presidency, 55 percent of Hispanics said they approved of him, according to a May 2021 poll by Quinnipiac University. But a new poll out this week shows that the support has fallen to just 26 percent. Among all voters, Biden's approval is currently at 41.1 percent, according to FiveThirtyEight's poll aggregator. His approval ratings fell below his disapproval ratings in August, and have only fallen further since then.  Donald Trump's approval rating was almost as poor as Biden's at the same point in his presidency, with an approval rating of 42.4.  Of the post-war presidents, only Gerald Ford was worse, at 39 percent approval. Barack Obama was significantly higher, at just below 58 percent; George W. Bush...

The president privately asked his aides to start highlighting differences between his policies and those of the Republican Party, according to Axios, citing “people familiar with the conversations.” Biden himself has ratcheted up the political rhetoric, accusing Republicans of having a radical agenda that is out of touch with the middle class. Biden has focused his political attacks on Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, painting him as the leader of the radical “Ultra MAGA” Republicans who have seized control of the party. Sen. US President Joe Biden addresses media representatives as he arrives for a European Union summit at EU Headquarters in Brussels on March 24, 2022.John Thys | AFP | Getty Images President Joe Biden is expected to propose a new minimum tax that would largely target billionaires when he unveils his 2023 budget, according to a document obtained by CNBC. Called the "Billionaire Minimum Income Tax," it would assess a 20% minimum tax rate on U.S. households worth more than $100 million. Over half the revenue could come from those worth more than $1 billion. "This minimum tax would make sure that the wealthiest Americans no longer pay a tax rate lower than teachers and firefighters," the document said. The proposed levy is expected to reduce the deficit by about $360 billion in the next decade, according to the document. If a wealthy household is already paying 20% on their full income, they won't pay an additional tax under the proposal. If they pay less than 20%, they'll owe a "top-up payment" to meet the new minimum. "As a result, this...
President Joe Biden said his plan to fight inflation is to “lower your costs, not your wages,” during his first State of the Union address on Tuesday. After Biden and his advisers pretended for months that inflation would be “transitory,” it appears he is ready to address the issue. During his State of the Union speech, Biden addressed his plan to fight inflation. “One way to fight inflation is to drive down wages and make Americans poorer,” Biden said Tuesday evening. “I have a better plan to fight inflation: Lower your costs, not your wages.” According to Biden, his three-step plan to lower costs in different sectors will address the highest inflation levels our country has seen in over 40 years. Biden said cutting the costs of prescription drugs, energy, and child care are included in his plan to defeat inflation. However, Biden failed to explain how the costs would be lowered or how they would impact inflation rates. The high price of gasoline is displayed at a Los Angeles gas station on November 24, 2021. US Senate candidate Dave McCormick will air an ad during Sunday's Super Bowl that refers to President Biden as 'Brandon' and criticizes his record on everything from the Afghanistan withdrawal to the economy recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic. McCormick, 56, is one of dozens of candidates running to replace retiring Republican Sen. Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania.  He was the CEO of Bridgewater Associates, the largest hedge fund in the world with assets worth at least $150 billion, from 2020 until January of this year. In the 30-second spot, somber quotes from mainstream media sources flash past the screen while a crowd chants 'Let's Go Brandon.'  'This is so much bigger than Brandon,' the ad concludes. 'Let's go Brandon' became a rallying cry for conservatives after a NASCAR race in Alabama in October. The crowd was chanting 'F*** Joe Biden,' but an NBC reporter incorrectly said they were shouting 'Let's go Brandon' while interviewing racer Brandon Brown. President Biden was forced to acknowledge the slogan on Christmas Eve, when a father from Oregon said it to him during a holiday livestream. Scroll...

Former Vice President Mike Pence announced Monday that an amicus brief had been filed by his group, Advancing American Freedom, to the U.S. Supreme Court in firm opposition to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's vaccine mandate, according to an AAF press release shared with the Washington Examiner. The brief labels the mandate "unconstitutional" and backs demands for a stay. The mandate, which OSHA published as Emergency Temporary Standard, seeks to "shortcut normal rule making requirements" as set by Congress, the release noted. One year ago, then-candidate Joe Biden declared that, in light of the statistic of 220,000 Americans having died from coronavirus as of October 2020, that "anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States." At the time, the demand was made of President Trump – however as of November 2021, by Biden's own standard, he should resign the office of president, Fox News host Sean Hannity said Monday. "[I]f you don’t hear anything else I say tonight, hear this. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg suggested that Americans worried about increasing gasoline prices should purchase electric vehicles to save money. Families that own an electric vehicle won’t ever have to worry about gasoline prices, Buttigieg told MSNBC in an interview Sunday. Americans who live in rural and urban areas would benefit most from buying an electric car since they currently spend so much at the pump, he said. “Most of the physical infrastructure work was contemplated in the bill that was just signed, but there is more envisioned in the Build Back Better law,” the transportation secretary said during the interview. “It contains incentives to make it more affordable to buy an electric vehicle.” “Up to a $12,500 discount, in effect, for families thinking about getting an EV,” he continued. “Families that once they own that EV will never have to worry about gas prices again.” (RELATED: CNN Says Biden Is To Thank For Falling Gas Prices Days After Saying It Was Out Of His Control) The $12,500 “discount” would be a tax credit under the Build Back Better Act, Democrats’...

U.S. President Joe Biden called Chinese leader Xi Jinping on Thursday to discuss bilateral relations between Washington and Beijing and allegedly used some of the 90-minute phone call to “reminisce” with Xi about their previous “travels together,” the Associated Press (AP) reported. “The two spent time on the call reminiscing about their time traveling together when they were both vice presidents,” the AP reported on September 9, citing a “senior [Biden] administration official” who spoke to the news agency on the condition of anonymity as he “was not authorized to comment publicly” on the matter. Four states will be cutting pandemic unemployment increases three months early, ending the supplemental $300 in federal aid. Alaska, Iowa, Missouri, and Mississippi will end pandemic-related unemployment relief on June 12. An additional 21 Republican-led states will slash federal aid before it expires on Sept. 6, according to Business Insider. Never-before-released recordings of a 2019 phone call between Rudy Giuliani and Ukranian officials reveal how the Trump adviser and attorney attempted to pressure the foreign government to investigate Joe Biden, according to CNN. On the call, Giuliani can be heard, along with US diplomat Kurt Volker, and Andriy Yermak, a senior adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, CNN said.  The audio was recorded in July 2019 and came before Trump called Zelensky himself.  That conversation became a central part of the former president's first impeachment trial in which he was accused of soliciting help from Ukraine for his campaign. The recording of the phone call, which lasts for some 40 minutes, details how Giuliani continued to pressure the Ukrainian government in 2019 to investigate conspiracies about then-candidate Joe Biden. He seems to dangle improved relations with the US as a reward. Giuliani could be heard telling Yermak that Zelensky should publicly announce investigations into possible corruption by Biden in Ukraine, and also into claims Ukraine meddled in the 2016 election to hurt Trump's chances of winning. Neither claim has been proven. Scroll down for video  Audio of a...

President Joe Biden said Tuesday that he did not believe there was a migration crisis on the southern border. Biden commented after concluding remarks about the ongoing national effort to develop and deliver coronavirus vaccines. One reporter asked the president if he believed there was a crisis on the southern border. “No,” he replied. “We’ll be able to handle it. God willing.” Biden confirmed he was briefed on the looming surge of unattended migrant children at the border. When he was asked what he learned, the president replied shortly “A lot.” The Department of Homeland Security predicts there will be 117,000 unaccompanied child migrants crossing the border in 2021, according to an Axios report. Additionally, officials advised that the United States would need 20,000 beds to house incoming child migrants. In January alone, 6,000 migrants aged 16 and 17 were caught, according to the prepared report. Biden commented after Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas first declared Monday that there was no crisis on the border. “I think the answer is no,” Mayorkas said when asked by a reporter...

President Joe Biden paid a visit to the orthopedist’s office near his Delaware home to have a foot injury evaluated. He made the doctor visit on his first trip away from Washington as president, about ten weeks after his injury was diagnosed. He was found to have hairline fractures in his foot after an injury sustained while playing with his dog Major, a German Shepherd. According to physician to the president Dr. Kevin O’Connor, it was a ‘regularly scheduled 10 week post-injury weight-bearing X-ray’ visit. President Joe Biden had X=-rays taken of his foot fracture as his doctors determine how his injury is healing Biden went to the same Delaware Orthopedic Specialists in Newark, Del., where he went for care during the transition. According to a statement by O’Connor: ‘The President will receive a regularly scheduled 10-week post-injury weight-bearing X-ray at the Delaware Orthopedic Specialists, where he was evaluated initially.’ ‘The President’s symptoms have improved as expected, and he is adhering to a strict physical therapy regimen. As we explained initially, sprains of the foot can sometimes be a...
Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, will release a memoir chronicling his struggles with substance abuse. Hunter Biden’s memoir, entitled “Beautiful Things,” will focus on his past substance abuse addiction, according to publisher Gallery Books, The Associated Press reported. Hunter Biden’s drug addiction received national attention in October after a laptop, alleged to have belonged to him, was uncovered and included pictures that appeared to show him smoking crack. “In his harrowing and compulsively readable memoir, Hunter Biden proves again that anybody — even the son of a United States President — can take a ride on the pink horse down nightmare alley,” author Stephen King wrote in advance praise of the book, according to the AP. (RELATED: ‘Watch Yourself’: Biden Reportedly Asked Family To Rein In Business Activity Before Election) Knowledge of the memoir was kept under tight wraps, even amid the Nov. 3 presidential election in which Hunter Biden’s father defeated former President Donald Trump. In addition to King, writers Dave Eggers and Anne Lamott wrote blurbs commending the book. “I come from a family forged by...
President Joe Biden, as soon as Monday, will restart the unpopular but business-backed inflow of Central American consumers and replacement labor that President Donald Trump had shut down, according to Reuters. The extra workers and consumers will help CEOs and investors, even as millions of Americans have been pushed into the unemployment line and poverty by the coronavirus crash and by prior migration. Biden is expected to end the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) agreement with Mexico, to tear up asylum deals with El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, and even open a new route for migrants to fly from U.S. embassies into homes through the United States, according to the article. Trump’s MPP program deterred unsafe migration by denying U.S. jobs to migrants before their asylum claims were approved by courts. Biden will also sign an order directing officials to prepare for a future inflow of 125,000 refugees imported from Africa, Asia, and other regions, according to Reuters. Trump cut the refugee inflow down to 15,000, which pressured companies to raise wages for Americans and to invest in wealth-producing, labor-saving machinery. The...
Hours before he departed the White House, Donald Trump granted pardons to 73 individuals and commutations to 70 others in the early hours of Wednesday. According to Finnish-German entrepreneur Kim Dotcom, Trump attempted to offer him a pardon for charges related to his now-defunct file hosting service Megaupload, which the businessman says he refused. “Several people in Trumps inner circle dangled a pardon in front of my nose,” he tweeted. “I told them I’m not interested in a pardon unless Assange & Snowden get pardoned and if not I would trade my pardon for Assange. I don’t need a pardon. I’m a battle-scarred warrior. I’ll go to Valhalla.” Despite the setback, the entrepreneur assured his followers he would still be fighting for Assange’s release. To all #Assange supporters out there. It is disappointing that Trump did not pardon Julian. But our numbers have grown. Many respected people join our movement to free Julian every day. Our voices can no longer be ignored. Let’s fight for Julian’s release this year. Stay strong. pic.twitter.com/CykUGC2yXQ — Kim Dotcom (@KimDotcom) January 20, 2021 ...
President Joe Biden is expected to issue a wide array of executive orders as soon as he takes office Wednesday. The practice has become a common one in recent administrations. Donald Trump issued six executive orders during his first week in office, while Barack Obama issued five, according to AL.com. Biden will sign 15 executive orders on his first day in office, his incoming press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters. Biden’s executive orders will focus in particular on the COVID-19 pandemic, immigration, and the environment. COVID-19 Biden will institute a mask and social distancing mandate for all federal buildings, according to CBS News. The federal government would probably not have the authority to issue a nationwide mask mandate, which Biden alluded to on the campaign trail. Biden will also be rejoining the World Health Organization (WHO), the Associated Press reported. Trump ordered the United States’ withdrawal from the WHO after the international body refused “to demonstrate its independence from the Chinese Communist Party.” (RELATED: World Health Organization Pledges Not To Find ‘Guilty’ Party During Coronavirus Investigation In China) Biden also...
Newly disclosed federal investigations into Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings threaten to haunt his father's presidency for years. While the full scope of the federal government’s inquiries have not been made public, allegations claim President-elect Joe Biden's son scored privileged investment opportunities, millions of dollars, and a diamond estimated to cost $80,000 by leveraging access to the Biden name. Hunter Biden acknowledged the existence of one federal inquiry earlier this month, when in a statement issued by his father’s transition team, he said he was the subject of an investigation by the U.S. attorney in Delaware. Biden said he is "confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately." According to a subsequent Politico report, “investigators in Delaware and Washington were ... probing potential money laundering and Hunter Biden’s foreign ties.” The story suggests these investigations go further than Hunter Biden’s statement indicated and include an inquiry by the Southern District of New York’s securities fraud unit into his finances, as well as a criminal investigation by the Western...
Actress Anna Khait, a former poker player and Survivor cast member, floated a theory on the forces she believes are behind President-elect Joe Biden and his election victory, which was certified by the Electoral College earlier this week. “Joe Biden is an illegitimate President Elect. In fact, he hasn’t been officially called the PE, only by the fake news media,” she tweeted on Friday. “Satan is trying to birth the NWO too early. He will fail! God said TWO TERMS for DJT. And it SHALL be! Glory to God! It’s time for a great REVIVAL!” According to the Anti-Defamation League, the New World Order (NWO) is is a right-wing conspiracy theory that surfaced in the 1990s. Proponents of the theory — who are allegedly often people with anti-government beliefs — believe that a “tyrannical, socialist ‘one-world’ conspiracy” has taken over the majority of the globe and seeks to control the United States. According to the ADL, they view America as one of the last genuinely free countries. The non-profit claims proponents also believe America already has hundreds of concentration camps...
Walt Disney executive chairman Bob Iger wants Joe Biden to make him the US ambassador to China and is reportedly on top of the president-elect's list for a position, according to a new report. Iger, who has been the chief of Disney for 15 years, told people close to the incoming Biden administration that he’s interested in being the US ambassador to China, people familiar with the matter said to the Wall Street Journal. Iger is reportedly 'at the top of Biden’s wish list' for a key ambassador post, likely in China or the UK, The Hollywood Reporter shared Wednesday. Though he’d be an unusual choice for the position that's usually assigned to governors and senators, he’s spent decades working with China and has a long-running relationship with President Xi Jinping.   Some say that appointing Iger to ambassador would be a 'bow to Beijing,' as Disney has been heavily criticized by Democrats and Republicans alike for kowtowing to Beijing to keep their business there.  Whoever takes on the role will have to grapple with tensions between the two countries due to...

Joe Biden is reportedly considering former United Nations ambassador Samantha Power to lead the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), according to Axios. Power was a critic of President Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, which she called “gross incompetence.” As USAID director, Power would play a role in deciding whether to rejoin the World Health Organization (WHO) and how to conduct the U.S.’ pandemic response internationally, Axios reported.  SCOOP: Joe Biden is considering Samantha Power to head USAID, a move that would signal the Biden administration plans to revitalize foreign assistance. https://t.co/HiLroahoe7 — Axios (@axios) December 14, 2020 Power is the author of “A Problem from Hell: America and the Age of Genocide,” a book published in 2002 detailing the U.S.’s inaction during periods of genocide abroad. Eric Schwerin, president of Biden's firm Rosemont Seneca, warned him of tax liability President-elect Joe Biden's son Hunter Biden failed to disclose $400,000 in payments from Ukrainian energy company Burisma on his 2014 tax returns, according to an email from his notorious subpoenaed laptop.    Eric Schwerin, president of Biden's firm Rosemont Seneca, sent the email on January 16, 2017, noting that Hunter Biden's total income for 2014 was more than $1.2 million, according to NBC News. It follows confirmation earlier this week that the Justice Department is investigating Hunter Biden's tax matters, including his lucrative dealings with China.  'In 2014 you joined the Burisma board and we still need to amend your 2014 returns to reflect the unreported Burisma income,' says the email from Schwerin. Joe Biden has repeatedly denied any involvement in his son's foreign business dealings with China, which were this week revealed to be the target of a federal investigation RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 Next Hunter Biden called father Joe and uncle Jim 'office mates'... In a Thursday piece from Politico, law professor Ronald Krotoszynski suggested that President-elect Joe Biden could use the unitary executive theory — which Raw Story called the head of state’s “favorite legal theory” — to erase Donald Trump’s legacy in the government. As the report noted, Trump’s administration will maintain power within various administrative agencies even after Biden is inaugurated in January. According to Politico, Biden could remove Trump’s remaining government legacy using the theory supported by Trump and others, including Attorney General William Barr. “Under this theory, President Biden would be constitutionally empowered to remove executive-branch personnel who are opposed to his administration’s policies and programs whether or not they hold a fixed term of office or enjoy statutory good-cause protection against removal.” As noted by Krotoszynski, the Federalist Society has long supported the theory, as have Trump-appointed federal judges like Neomi Rao and Brett Kavanaugh. According to the postulation, Trump can exercise broad control over the executive branch, which includes officers that hold policymaking posts. Outgoing Michigan Rep. Justin Amash previously took aim at Trump and Barr’s support...
President-elect Joe Biden has tapped Democratic Rep. Marcia Fudge from Ohio to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development, otherwise known as HUD, according to multiple reports. If confirmed by the Senate, Fudge will face a housing affordability crisis upon taking the helm. Roughly 19 million people are at risk of eviction from their rental homes when the moratoriums expire at the end of the year, according to the National Low Income Housing Coalition and the University of Arizona. That total rivals the number of foreclosures during the 2007-2008 financial crisis. Biden seeks to spend $640 billion over 10 years that would provide Americans greater access to affordable housing. Part of that money would provide tenants facing eviction with legal assistance to keep from being kicked out of their homes. It would provide access to housing that would cost no more than 30% of a renter’s income so there’s money left over to meet other needs. The president-elect has also pledged to reinstate a rule that Trump reversed that requires communities receiving federal funding to examine housing...
