SO many YouTubers have been purchasing return pallets and showing off what they’ve received. And while this has gone quite well for many, this wasn’t the case for Grace Booth, who bought a £600 John Lewis returns pallet, but was sorely disappointed with what she received. 5Grace Booth says she ordered a returns pallet but was rather disappointed with what arrivedCredit: Grackle 5Many of the items were faulty and/or missing partsCredit: Grackle The first problem with the items becomes clear when she reads just why one microwave was returned to the store. “This one has a little note on it” she says, “which says that it overheats, fires and burns, so I feel like I don’t want to test that.” She also adds that the product image on the pallet she ordered was a SAGE coffee machine, which she assumed would be in the order.  However, this was actually missing when it arrived. BOSTON — Golden State general manager Bob Myers was walking down the aisle of the team’s plane on the Warriors’ flight to Boston on Wednesday when he stopped in his tracks. He had to say something, because the three stars of his team — Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green; the trio that built the Warriors’ new San Francisco arena and filled it with banners — were sitting together for the six-hour flight to another NBA Finals game. The trio has played together for a decade. In a league run by stars where loyalty is the exception, not the rule, the longevity for the Warriors’ greats is, indeed, stunning. What Golden State’s stars have is even more special that that. “Y’all don’t understand, it’s ten years. Like this, does not happen,’” Warriors forward Draymond Green said. “Guys still sitting together at the same table… He’s like, ‘guys [are not even on the same team for ten years, let alone still sitting there at the same table and enjoying each other’s conversation and presence.'” The Warriors will have an even...

In this article TWTRVIDEO1:4701:47Options Action: Bearish bets on TwitterOptions ActionTwitter is sinking deeper into levels the stock hasn't seen since Elon Musk announced his 9% ownership stake in the social media company in early April. The drop is largely fueled by speculation that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO might not be able to get this deal over the finish line. A growing rift between Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal and Musk regarding the percentage of bot accounts on the site, and how that number impacts Twitter's valuation appears to be the main sticking point. This rift — especially as it relates to the valuation question — seems to be a major worry for options traders, who reacted in a decidedly bearish manner during Monday's session. "Today [Twitter] traded about 1.4 times an already elevated put volume, and the most active contracts were the May 35 [strike puts]. We saw almost 35,000 of those trade for about 54 cents," Michael Khouw, chief investment officer at Optimize Advisors, said Monday on CNBC's "Fast Money." Elon Musk's purchase of Twitter will see substantial changes implemented on the social media platform with everything from longer tweets and paid subscriptions using 'joke' cryptocurrency Dogecoin all within the realm of possibility.  Musk has vowed to let everyone say whatever they want on Twitter after his takeover of the social media giant. He is said to favor temporary 'timeouts' for users who break the new rules, rather than permanent bans such as those given to Donald Trump.  Details of his immediate plans are slim, but the Tesla chief portrays himself as a free-speech absolutist. Other mooted changes include blue verification checkmarks for anyone who subscribes to Twitter's premium Blue service, which costs $2.99 a month. Musk is said to favor a subscription-based model over advertiser funding, as it would make Twitter less beholden to advertiser pressure. He has even suggested users could pay with cryptocurrency, including joke currency Dogecoin which Musk has long had an affection for.  He's also likely to fire many of the firm's woke staff. Workers have been told the transfer of ownership will last around...

Social media has lit up with memes mocking Prince Andrew for reaching a settlement with Virginia Giuffre in her sexual abuse lawsuit against him filed in New York.  The royal agreed to an undisclosed deal said to be worth £7.5million, or $10million USD, with his sexual abuse accuser – despite not admitting to her allegations. Many took aim at the Duke’s previous claims that he ‘never met’ Giuffre, arguing that agreeing to a hefty settlement with her clearly proves otherwise. He also claimed that on the night of the alleged assault he was at Pizza Express with his daughters.  Court documents filed in New York this morning revealed the Duke of York and Giuffre have reached a 'settlement in principle' in the civil sex claim - but royal experts said it was 'very, very unlikely' that there was a way back to public royal life for the Queen's son. Andrew will now make a 'substantial donation' to Giuffre's charity supporting victims' rights, and praised her 'bravery' and that of other trafficking victims, saying he has 'never intended' to malign her...
On a five-acre plot just outside Windsor Great Park, surrounded by farmland and accessible only by private road, is one of high-end real estate's most famous white elephants. Sunninghill Park is the one-time marital home of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, who received the 12-bedroom new-build as a gift from the Queen when they married in 1986. Compared sneeringly to a giant branch of Tesco (albeit without the faux clock tower), the red-brick property was also nicknamed 'Southyork' because of its resemblance to Southfork, the oil baron J. R. Ewing's sprawling, vulgar mansion in the Eighties TV soap opera Dallas. Prince Andrew and chum Goga Ashkenazi pictured together at Tyringham Hall, Buckinghamshire, in 2010 The interior back then was similarly brash, with little expense spared — its surfaces covered with marble, polished pine, deep-pile carpet and highly questionable wallpaper. In a 36ft, first-floor master bedroom, the couple's marital headboard was surrounded by an elaborate mint-green floral canopy. An oval, freestanding bath in their ensuite afforded sweeping views over sterile lawns and neatly clipped shrubbery. A spiral staircase led from its...

The inaccurate claim quickly spread through a variety of conservative media outlets. Pelosi spokesman Andrew Hammill denied the report days later, saying in a Nov. 24 statement to media it was “completely false” and adding, “There’s no such pending sale nor is the family looking or interested.” The claim by Pushaw had vanished from Twitter as of Nov. 29. Apple CEO Tim Cook declared that he personally owns cryptocurrency, but dismissed the idea that the world's second-most valuable company would allow its products to be purchased with the digital currencies. 'I do. I think it's reasonable to own it as part of a diversified portfolio,' Cook said in an interview with The New York Times' Andrew Ross Sorkin during its DealBook conference.  'I'm not giving anyone investment advice by the way.' Cook did not specify which particular cryptocurrency he owns, however. The 61-year-old Cook said he had been interested in cryptocurrency 'for a while,' though he added his interest was a 'personal point of view' and that he was not speaking for the company. A businessman has sued Jeffrey Epstein's estate for fraud because the late pedophile sold him a company that owned a Gulfstream IV jet without mentioning the airplane was used in a sick crime web of girls trafficked for sex. Thomas Huff, from Marietta, Georgia, runs a charter plane business based in Cobb County, Georgia. He bought a controlling interest in JEGE LLC, the company Epstein once controlled and that owns the Gulfstream jet, just weeks before the sex offender's arrest in 2019. Epstein sold Huff 'controlling interest in JEGE' without saying he 'was engaged in a massive criminal enterprise involving rape, sex trafficking, sexual abuse, physical assault, blackmail, intimidation, fraud, and deceit,' Huff's federal suit filed in Atlanta last week alleged. Huff said the company was 'damaged by the stigma' connected to Epstein. 'JEGE's customers, some of which are very well known to the public, are tracked, surveilled, and reported to the press for using what they believed to be Jeffrey Epstein's company,' the suit said. Jeffrey Epstein (pictured) sold a controlling interest in JEGE LLC to Thomas Huff weeks before...
During Wednesday’s hours-long grilling of Attorney General Merrick Garland by the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, which mainly focused on the events of January 6 and Garland’s directive to investigate parents who speak out at school board meetings, one critical question went almost unnoticed. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ-05) questioned Garland about Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s $400 million spending spree during the 2020 election. The money was allocated through Zuckerberg-funded non-profits the Center for Tech and Civic Life, described by Influence Watch as an “organization [that] pushes for left-of-center voting policies and election administration,” and the Center for Election Innovation and Research. Two and a half million of those dollars, for example, were given to Chester County, Pennsylvania’s election officials. They were then used by elections officials there to purchase 14 drop boxes for absentee ballots – an already controversial means of voting during the 2020 cycle. President Joe Biden won Chester County by 17 points in 2020, more than double the 2016 total of failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s 2016 haul...
Flowflex, a new at-home rapid COVID-19 test produced by California-based ACON Laboratories, has received emergency use authorization from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The new authorization is expected to double rapid testing capacity in the U.S. - adding to the Abbott BinaxNOW and other tests that are in high demand and potentially driving down prices. Rapid tests are currently ten times more expensive in the U.S. than in other countries. By the end of the year, ACON Laboratories is aiming to produce over 100 million at-home tests a month - with production capacity increasing further to 200 million a month by February 2022. Experts say widely available at-home Covid tests can help Americans quickly and conveniently identify whether they've been infected with the virus. But the Biden administration must educate people on how to use these tests correctly, says Scott Becker, CEO of the Association of Public Health Laboratories. Flowflex, a newly-approved rapid antigen test, is expected to double the U.S.'s supply of at-home Covid tests within weeks. Pictured: A French traveler holds a box with a Flowflex test,...
Fashion house Dolce and Gabbana sold $5.7 million worth of clothing and jewelry despite some of it existing only as a digital file. The Collezione Genesi collection designed by Italian fashion icons Domenico Dolce comprised nine pieces. All were offered as non-fungible tokens - original digital files which cannot be traded, and which are increasingly seen as a viable form of art. Five were also offered in physical form - two dresses, a suit, and two jewel-studded crowns. Buyers of the digital-only items were also offered an 'experiential' purchase, such as a trip to the fashion giant's design studios.    The most valuable piece of clothing sold at the auction was the 'green glass suit' that sold for $1,199,916.01 at the online auction, or 351.384 in cryptocurrency ether, known as ETH, according to the UNXD site, which ran the auction.  That suit was bought by London-based e-commerce firm Boson Protocol. Boson Protocol now owns the original digital file showing an electronic video of the suit, worn in the clip by an eerie, faceless silver mannequin. The firm, co-founded by Justin Banon...

Wyoming Republican Sen. Cynthia Lummis tore into Treasury Sec. Janet Yellen on Tuesday for her support of a Biden proposal to require banks to hand over transaction data over $600 on individual bank accounts. 'Banks do not work for the IRS,' Lummis said. 'This is invasive of privacy. Wyoming's people literally will find alternatives to traditional banks just to thwart IRS access to their personal information, not because they're trying to hide anything, but because they are not willing to share everything.'  The senator asked Yellen if she was 'aware how unnecessary this regulatory burden is?' 'Do you distrust the American people so much that you need to know when they bought a couch?' Lummis asked. 'Or a cow?' 'I am astounded by what you're supporting and proposing. I think it's invasive. I think privacy for individuals is being ignored. And I think that treating the American people like they are subjects of the government is unconscionable.'  Yellen told Lummis that she believes the senator is misunderstanding the proposal, as it requires banks to hand over the IRS data on...
FREMONT — A hotel in Fremont has been bought by a big investor that also has grabbed a hotel in San Francisco, fresh evidence that Bay Area lodgings still command buying interest despite coronavirus-spawned uncertainties. Hilton Garden Inn Fremont Milpitas has been bought for $38.9 million by an affiliate of AWH Partners, according to documents filed on Sept. 10 with the Alameda County Recorder’s Office. The purchase suggests that property buyers see a long-term upside in key hotel sites once the economic woes linked to the deadly bug have begun to recede. New York City-based AWH Partners, acting through its affiliate FO Fremont Property, bought the hotel in an all-cash deal, the county records show. The hotel totals 145 rooms, according to a representative of the lodging, which is located at 45976 Warm Springs Blvd. in Fremont.
Without a doubt, one of the main protagonists in the world of sport in recent days is the Greek, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who has led the Milwaukee Bucks to the top of the NBA 50 years later and along the way has been crowned as one of the best players in the world. Born in Athens in 1994 into a family of Nigerian immigrants, his can be called the typical story of overcoming and climbing to success despite his humble origins. And now, at the peak of his career, he does not forget where he came from and despite his star status, he has not abandoned himself to the ostentation that others display. Giannis Antetokounmpo lived until 2018 in an apartment that he shared with his mother, one of his brothers and his girlfriend. All of this two years after signing a four-year, $ 100 million extension with the Bucks, which already shows he was in no rush to splurge despite his hefty pay. But obviously, with the intention of starting a family and offering yours the greatest possible comforts, He...

OAKDALE, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A once-historic gem on Long Island’s South Shore is being picked apart and damaged by vandals. Residents near the former Dowling College say once the school went belly-up, historic buildings were not being protected by the new owners, CBS2’s Carolyn Gusoff reported Monday. Every night, Oakdale residents walk the sprawling land that was once Dowling College, and almost every night they say they discover and repair heartbreaking vandalism. “It’s disheartening. I feel like I’m gonna cry. The damage inside is beyond what you can imagine,” resident Al Kulfan said. Washington (CNN)Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky revealed Wednesday that his wife in February 2020 purchased up to $15,000 in stock in Gilead Sciences, the maker of the antiviral drug remdesivir. Remdesivir later became the first drug to be approved for treating Covid-19. Paul's filing with the Senate shows that between $1,000 and $15,000 of Gilead stock was purchased. The STOCK Act -- which was enacted in 2012 to outlaw congressional insider trading, or the use of nonpublic information for one's financial benefit -- requires trade disclosures within 45 days. This was done in the appropriate reporting time window," Cooper said in a statement. Read More"In the process of preparing to file his annual financial disclosure...
