The shocking moment a news anchor accidentally said 'back to school shooting' instead of 'shopping' live on air has renewed concern about the danger of school shootings in the US, as millions of children across the country return to their classrooms.  News anchor Maria Stephanos, who appears on Boston-based network WCVB, inadvertently blurted out the word 'shooting' during a live broadcast on the channel's news show - a slip-up that was caught on camera by Massachusetts-based TikTok user Emmi, 21, who posted it to the app, where it quickly went viral.  In Emmi's video - which she posted with the caption 'There's no way that just happened' and which has received more than 8.9 million views - shows Maria discussing back-to-school shopping.  However, when the moment came for her to say that phrase, she slipped up, instead saying: 'Back to school shoot- school shopping,' before staring wide-eyed into the camera, seemingly horrified by her mistake.  Emmi, 21, from Massachusetts, took to TikTok to post footage of the moment a WCVB news anchor slipped up and said shooting instead of shopping The...

Veterans have criticised a new BBC documentary on alleged war crimes by the British SAS for relying on 'hearsay' and footage filmed by Australian special forces. The Panorama investigation claimed to have uncovered 54 suspicious killings carried out by one British SAS unit on a six-month tour of Afghanistan in 2010-11.  The programme featured a harrowing video of an Australian SAS soldier shooting an unarmed Afghan man dead as he cowered in a field. Former SAS sergeant Chris Ryan criticised the programme's use of the footage, alongside interviews with a former Australian SAS member. 'A new low as the BBC uses SASR (Australian SAS) footage and personnel to give credence to their baseless assumptions about the British SAS,' he said. 'Take that footage/hearsay away and it's a reporter's interpretation/opinion at best. This is up there with Bashir.' Retired Royal Navy chief Rear Admiral Christopher John Parry warned of finding British SAS troopers 'guilty by association'.  Members of the Australian SAS - which is separate from its UK equivalent - are currently facing a murder trial.  The news Australian special forces...

A Florida man was arrested after he allegedly open fire during a road-rage shooting in June and authorities from Miami-Dade released chilling new dashcam footage of the incident.  The June 21 incident occurred on I-95 in northwest Miami-Dade after it is believed Eric Popper, the man arrested, cut off another driver, WSVN reported. The other driver, who was not identified, tailgated Popper and hand gestures between the two were exchanged.  Local 10 reported that state troopers and Popper's lawyer disagree on what happened next. Robert Gershman, the 30-year-old's lawyer, told the outlet that the video is proof that his client was shot at first, and he returned fire in self-defense.   "On the video, you can hear and see the other driver shoot his car," Gershman said, pointing out that his client heard the sound prior to shooting. The driver of the Camry did not have a gun in his vehicle but admitted to throwing a water bottle at Popper’s SUV, investigators said. Popper fired the gun 11 times at the other driver, through his own window and windshield, the...

But the victim reportedly claimed that he did not have a gun but rather threw a water bottle at Popper's vehicle. Amazingly, neither of the drivers was injured in the exchange. Both called police to report the incident after it occurred. Popper voluntarily turned himself in to the Florida Highway Patrol in July but has since bonded out of custody, WLPG-TV reported. He is reportedly facing several felony charges, including aggressive assault with a firearm and shooting/throwing a deadly missile. At the time of the incident, Popper worked as a civilian fire inspector with Miami Beach. He has since resigned from his position. Popper's lawyer, Robert Gershman, confirmed the video to WTVJ and...
