If former Ravens tight end Eric Green had his way, he would have retired with Baltimore. He might soon have a reason to make regular trips back to the city. His son, Elijah Green, is one of the top prospects available in this weekend’s Major League Baseball draft, in which the Orioles have the first overall pick. An outfielder out of IMG Academy in Florida, Elijah is believed to be among the handful of players Baltimore is considering with its second No. 1 pick in four years. “I dreamed of this, and he dreamed of this, and he worked hard for this,” Eric Green said. “I always told him, if you work hard enough, things will come your way, and things are coming his way.” The elder Green played in Baltimore from 1996 to 1998 before closing his career with one season for the New York Jets. But he hoped to finish out his career as a Raven. “They actually had to kick me out of Baltimore,” Eric said. “I did not want to leave Baltimore to go to New...

SAN FRANCISCO — In the third inning of the Mets’ 13-3 rout over the Giants on Monday, J.D. Davis barreled a 95 mile per hour fastball from right-hander Alex Cobb and turned it into a single — a scorching 107.5 mph off the bat. That line drive to center, Davis said, was all he needed to be locked in for a 4-for-5 evening at the plate. “Just like a shooter in basketball,” Davis said. “When you find that point of contact, you stay inside the ball and you kind of get that barrel or line drive up the middle that kind of gets you locked in. After that plate appearance against Cobb, with trying to get him out over the plate and staying inside that ball, that really kind of locked me in. Just felt good going from there.” Davis’ first hit of the night was just the beginning. Later, in the eighth inning against Mauricio Llovera, the Giants right-handed reliever who was throwing batting practice, Davis mashed a slider for a double with a 108-mph exit velocity. It was...

One is leaving an impact on students even beyond the school hallways: Wrestling. “The one thing about wrestling is it’s all about readjustment. Nothing is always perfect. It’s about how you adjust yourself to your situation or your problem,” said Anthony Bonifacio, a former student of Coach Peter Trave. About 90 minutes into President Joe Biden’s press conference, just as it was about to end, Fox News’ Peter Doocy called out a question and the President was only too happy to indulge him. “You always ask me the nicest questions,” President Biden jovially responded to Doocy’s yelling, adding: “None of them make a lot of sense to me.” Apparently desperate to prove him wrong, the Fox News correspondent declared, “Why are you trying in your first year so hard to pull the country so far to the left?” President Biden didn’t get angry. Cesaro, who has long been a fan favorite to finally get a world championship match, will get his chance at one inside the Elimination Chamber where he takes on Jey Uso, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens, King Corbin and Sami Zayn on Sunday (7 p.m., WWE Network). The winner gets to face Universal champion Roman Reigns later in the night. Before stepping into the chamber, Cesaro took time for some Q&A with The Post’s wrestling writer Joseph Staszewski. (Edited for clarity and length) Q: How are you approaching this opportunity at Elimination Chamber knowing how long fans have and probably you have wanted that world title opportunity? A: Just two years ago we had “KofiMania”, right. That was kicked off by [the] Chamber as well. As much as I feel every moment of the year is important, this part of the year where it goes into WrestleMania season is overdrive. It’s important to pick up some momentum and it’s also really hard to pick up some momentum. I feel like I’ve managed to do that. I’m extremely excited. I’m also excited...

Three things we learned from Georges St-Pierre’s Clubhouse chat with AJ Agazarm. On Tuesday afternoon, BJJ black-belt and professional MMA fighter, AJ Agazarm hosted a discussion with former UFC champion, Georges St-Pierre. The chat was hosted on the new social media platform, Clubhouse. The chat lasted about 30 minutes and we collected three of the most important tidbits from it from those who couldn’t listen live. Georges St-Pierre doesn’t think he’s *that* good at pure wrestling“I’m a better wrestler for MMA than I am in pure wrestling, but I’m actually not bad at wrestling as well,” St-Pierre said. “I trained with some guys that trained for the Olympic games. And I’ve trained in Colorado with the team there as well. So I’m okay. I’m far from Olympic level. I’m not bad in wrestling. It’s just the thing that helped me a lot is the fact that I did karate. And my style of karate, I use the timing of karate to set up my takedown. So my style is very different than a lot of the wrestlers. Like for example Kamaru Usman and...
Martha Bernabe was about 16 when her father Antonio told his family one day in 2004 that they were going to Sacramento. Later that night, the Bernabes boarded a bus, along with dozens of other immigration activists, and arrived at the state Capitol by morning. Everyone was there to rally in support of Assembly Bill 60, a measure that would allow immigrants without legal status to get driver’s licenses in the state. Assembly members had tried and failed for more than 20 years to pass the bill. Now, Bernabe explained to an enthusiastic crowd, it was their time. He led the group in chants and cheers, then got back on the bus later that evening to return home. He made the trip for years until Gov. Jerry Brown finally signed the bill in 2013. It was just another day for Bernabe, a legend in Southern California immigrant rights circles for his unwavering advocacy of immigration reform. “He would tell us there were people in the world willing to fight,” his daughter said. “We were those people and...

Divorcing During the Pandemic? Here’s How To Safely (and Cheaply) Break It Off How the New Hypercar Class Differs From LMP1 I Decided to Fight Hustle Culture by Doing Less, and Im Not Turning Back Every January, we hear people share their New Year's resolutions, and they almost always seem to involve doing more. They want to work out more, read more books, spend more time honing skills outside of work. This time of year, we're also bombarded by advertisements and messages that make us feel unnecessarily guilty about who we are and how much we do. In spite of all that, I'd like to propose something different. I think we should do less. © Getty / Westend61 I Decided to Fight Hustle Culture by Doing Less, and I'm Not Turning Back I've always been one to work hard, even too hard. I'm an Enneagram type three, "The Achiever," meaning motivation, success, and social image matter more to me than I even care to admit. I've always been wrapped up in hustle culture, a term that was coined to...

What we found is what bonds us as a nation is also very much a part of what makes the Hispanic culture so special. Rome City Schools would like to say thank you all for your contributions to our schools and for your willingness to share your lives with us. (CNN) — The paper towel shortage in the United States didn’t stop in the spring. Although finding paper towels for sale hasn’t been quite as difficult as it was when the pandemic first hit the United States, finding them — especially at a normal price — still isn’t always easy. Paper towels have been in and out of stock on Amazon, Costco and local stores. And when paper towels are available, customers can’t always get the brand they want. Part of the reason for the shortage is people keep hoarding them: there was a massive surge in sales of Bounty paper towels in July, Procter & Gamble reported, as customers swept them off store shelves. But the shortage could also have something to do with the way companies produce the paper towels. Lean manufacturing, in which companies make only as much product as they believe customers will buy on a given day — has borne the brunt of the blame for the shortage. Last month, the Wall Street Journal published an article called “Why are there still not enough paper...
