Charges have been dropped against a Virginia man whose name was given by the actual suspect to arresting authorities, they said. Lawrence Dawntai Johnson told Prince William County police his name was Raquelle Darris Johnson while being arrested on Thursday, Aug. 25 for a knifepoint robbery at the Potomac Inn in Woodbridge, PWC police said. A search of Johnson — who police found during a fight — turned up a knife matching the description of one used to rob a man staying at the hotel around 3 a.m. that morning, police said. Phillip Edward Douglas was also at the scene of the fight, and he was arrested for his involvement in the robbery, authorities said. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Aug. 31 officers were informed that Johnson gave the wrong name to police. Charges against Raquelle Darris Johnson have been dropped, and an arrest warrant has been issued for Lawrence Dawntai Johnson after consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, police said.
ANTONY is set to make his Manchester United debut in the crunch clash against Arsenal on Sunday. However, he may be forced to settle for a place on the bench to start with. 5 5Erik ten Hag may not throw Antony into the starting XI straight awayCredit: Getty The £85.5million transfer only secured his switch on deadline day and was therefore not registered in time to face Leicester. And Erik ten Hag may well be tempted to stick to his winning formula after three wins in a row. That might mean Antony - who trained with his team-mates for the first time today - could be used as a super-sub later on in the game rather than throwing him straight in. That would also see Cristiano Ronaldo forced to start among the substitutes again despite now being on the "same page" as the new boss after his failed plot to get a transfer exit. Former Donald Trump administration official Gavin Smith offered some praise for President Joe Biden’s speech this week condemning “MAGA Republicans.” Smith appeared on Friday’s New Day with co-host Brianna Keilar and the ex-Trump official said he agreed with Biden’s assertion that Trump and his more extremist followers present a “threat” to democracy. Smith said: I think the president had a few good points. First, he made a good case for the threats that continue to challenge our democracy today. You know, you see the former president parading around the nation cherry-picking candidates that will ultimately oversee and ultimately they’re going to have to certify elections. That’s a clear and present threat to our democracy today, and I think the president made a good case for that. Smith did offer light criticism as well, arguing Biden shouldn’t have been so solely focused on his predecessor, a point Keilar pushed back on. “I thought it was a little bit odd that the president used a rare 25-minute primetime address to talk about one thing, Donald Trump,” Smith said, arguing the president should...
TAIPEI, Taiwan — Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping’s expected success at a major party congress masks latent “challenges from within,” according to Taiwanese officials wary of Beijing's saber-rattling. “Obviously, Xi Jinping is trying to get anointed his third term and probably for life from then on,” a senior Taiwanese official said. “I think he’s also meeting some challenges from within. He is basically breaking the pattern of 10-year rule and [then a] change [of] leadership. So there's some resistance, from within, for him to become to continue as president of China or president of the party.” Nevertheless, Xi is expected to secure a rubber stamp to the extension of his tenure at a Chinese Communist Party congress in October, an outcome that seems assured in part by the elimination of potential rivals throughout his career. His extraordinary success makes for a marked contrast with domestic frustration over China’s "zero-COVID" restrictions and the country's apparent economic struggles, with uncertain ramifications for the risk of war over Taiwan. “Our assessment is that before the 20th Party Congress there will not be many...
Steve Bannon on Friday accused the White House of trying to stir up leftwing extremists in an effort to have opponents killed, after armed police descended on his Washington, D.C., home in an apparent 'swatting.' He was not home at the time but blamed President Joe Biden and his administration for whipping up hatred against Donald Trump and his allies. 'I'm never going to stop so they'll have to kill me first,' he told DailyMail.com.  'And if they kill me so bad.'  Police in the nation's capital said cops were called to Bannon's home - from where the former White House chief strategist normally broadcasts his War Room radio show - on A Street NE at 7:17 pm local time.  That was minutes before Biden delivered a set-piece speech on the 'battle for the soul of the nation,' and hours after White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre appeared to denounce anyone whose beliefs were outside the mainstream as 'extreme.' Bannon has been a pivotal player in attempts to overturn the 2020 election result. And he has used his radio show...

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is concerned about an emerging class in the United States and how it could ultimately create more economic problems for the working class. In a new op-ed published by The Guardian, Sanders offered a brief overview of the 2022 financial scope in America. "Three multibillionaires own more wealth than the bottom half of American society – 160 million Americans. This is unsustainable," Sanders wrote. Sanders sounded off with concerns about the much-needed discussions that are not being had among lawmakers due to the actions of the ruling class. COLUMBUS (AP) — Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman won’t get a gimme in his first season opener, no tasty cupcake served up at home so the Fighting Irish can tune up and send everyone away happy. An Arizona judge ordered Rep. Paul Gosar and two other state Republicans to pay over $75,000 for filing a frivolous lawsuit against Democrats. PHOENIX (AP) — An Arizona judge has ordered three Republicans, including secretary of state nominee Mark Finchem and U.S. Rep. Paul Gosar, to pay $75,000 in attorney fees for filing a defamation suit against a former Democratic lawmaker “primarily for purposes of harassment.” The Republicans filed the lawsuit last year against former Democratic state Rep. Charlene Fernandez after she called for an investigation of their roles in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The judge dismissed the lawsuit in April, saying Fernandez's request was protected by the First Amendment’s rights to free speech and to petition the government. The lawsuit was “groundless and not made in good faith,” Yuma County Judge Pro Tem Levi Gunderson ruled on Monday, adding that it appeared to have been "written for an audience other than the assigned trial court judge." Gunderson said legal filings by the Republicans made irrelevant references to open borders and Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack...

Elie Mystal expressed displeasure with President Joe Biden’s address to the country Thursday, as he believed it did not go far enough against “MAGA Republican” voters. Biden spoke for half an hour from Philadelphia’s Independence Hall in a speech where he designated former President Donald Trump and his diehard supporters as extreme. “We must be honest with each other and with ourselves,” Biden said during his remarks. “Too much of what’s happening in our country today is not normal. Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.” Biden added he would not designate all Republicans as a threat to the country, or even “MAGA.” “I know because I’ve been able to work with these mainstream Republicans,” he said. On MSNBC’s All In, Host Chris Hayes discussed the speech with Mystal and former assistant U.S. attorney Maya Wiley. Hayes noted Biden briefly discussed White supremacy near the end of his remarks. Biden said, “No matter what the White supremacists and extremists say, I made a bet on you, the American people, and...
A federal judge dismissed Carter Page’s lawsuit against fired FBI Director James Comey, the FBI, and others involved in the improper Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act snooping that had relied on British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s dossier. Judge Dabney Friedrich relied on her interpretation of the criminal statutes that Page alleged the FBI officials had violated when she ruled against the onetime Trump campaign associate who was surveilled under FISA. Friedrich was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia by then-President Donald Trump in 2017. “Page alleges that the individual defendants violated §§ 1809(a) and 1810 both by unlawfully engaging in electronic surveillance and using or disclosing the fruits of that surveillance. ... Each defendant claims that Page fails to sufficiently allege that he or she violated the statute,” the judge said Thursday. “The Court finds that the claims are not time-barred but that Page does not state a claim against any of the individual defendants.” The judge added: “This plain-text understanding — that Congress allowed suit against only those who conduct unauthorized surveillance, and...
Washington (CNN)Virginia "Ginni" Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, pushed state lawmakers not only in Arizona but also Wisconsin to overturn Joe Biden's 2020 election win, according to emails obtained via a public records request and shared with CNN. At least two state lawmakers from Wisconsin received what appear to be pre-generated emails from Ginni Thomas, a conservative activist, that mirror form letters she also sent to 29 Arizona legislators encouraging them to meddle in the state's slate of presidential electors. The messages sent by Ginni Thomas to Wisconsin Sen. Kathy Bernier, then chair of the Senate elections committee, and state Rep. Gary Tauchen, urged the lawmakers to "fight back against fraud" and exercise their supposed Constitutional authority to unilaterally choose a "clean" slate of presidential electors. The text of those emails, which were obtained by the watchdog group Documented and first reported by the Washington Post, is nearly identical to messages Thomas' sent to the state lawmakers in Arizona on the same day -- November 9, 2020. The Post previously reported that another batch of letters...

A Superior Court judge dismissed charges against two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies who were accused of lying to cover up an on-duty assault, finding there was insufficient evidence for them to stand trial. Judge Ronald Coen tossed the case against Jonathan Miramontes and Woodrow Kim earlier this month after a prosecutor presented video of the incident at a preliminary hearing as evidence that reports the deputies wrote were false. It is rare for a criminal case to be dismissed so early in the prosecution process. The district attorney’s office now is seeking to reinstate the charges, arguing in a recent court filing that Coen’s ruling was wrong and that a different judge should consider the evidence. A hearing date has not been set. The deputies had each faced a felony count of filing a false report about a September 2018 incident in which Kim allegedly knocked a suspect to the ground using the door of his patrol car. Kim was also charged with assault under the color of authority in the incident. Kim was behind the wheel...

OAKLAND — A man with a history of unprovoked physical assaults on people has been charged with attempted murder in an Aug.15 shooting of a man in Oakland’s Lakeside Park, according to authorities and court documents. King Jamil Stevenson, 29, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to the attempted murder count and another charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing Sept. 19. An enhancement to the charges says Stevenson was on probation at the time of the shooting. The shooting happened about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 600 block of Bellevue Avenue. Authorities said Stevenson, who police were told constantly bullied people around Lake Merritt, had gotten into a dispute with a person when a 33-year-old man confronted him and told him to leave people alone. According to court documents Stevenson then shot the 33-year-old year-old man in the jaw and chin. Authorities said both Stevenson and the man shot are homeless. The shooting prompted a massive police response to the park to search for the suspect. Children’s Fairyland and some...
Luis Ortiz faces Andy Ruiz Jr. on Sunday, live from the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles. As we approach the holiday weekend, Premier Boxing Champions returns Sunday night to bring you heavyweight boxing on FOX PPV. Former unified heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. (34-2) faces the battle-tested Luis Ortiz (33-2) for an opportunity to fight for the WBC title in the near future. With both men having world-class experience under their belt, this fight brings a certain level of intrigue. Ruiz Jr. wants to return to a championship path, while Ortiz avoids being punched into retirement. Ortiz, from Camaguey, Cuba, and resides in Miami, was considered the “boogeyman” of the heavyweight division for some years as his movement and punching power was a lethal combination. In 2018, he gave former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (42-2-1) a run for his money until he fell victim to that powerful right hand. Ortiz earned a rematch against Wilder in 2019 and was having success until he was caught once again by the right hand, which ended the fight. After his November 2020...

ANTIOCH — Contra Costa prosecutors have dismissed a misdemeanor charge against Antioch City Councilwoman Tamisha Torres-Walker, who was accused of obstructing or resisting a city police officer who was responding to a shooting call in her neighborhood last October, court records show. The Contra Costa District Attorney’s office would not comment on the reason for the dismissal, nor whether it was related to an ongoing FBI-led criminal investigation into several Antioch officers suspected of civil rights violations and other crimes. Torres-Walker, who represents District 1, said in an interview with this news organization that she and her family are “ready to move on” but that the dismissal affirms her contention that she and her children were “targeted” by Antioch police. Torres-Walker, who was elected in November 2020 to a two-year term, has butted heads with the police department since late 2020, after officers intercepted her two sons, aged 23 and 13 at the time, for riding off-road vehicles illegally on a city street. She responded with a Facebook Live video accusing police of intimidation tactics and biases. Court records show...

After winning the June primary for Los Angeles mayor by 7 percentage points, new polling shows California Rep. ANAHEIM — The last time the Yankees were at Tropicana Field, a Rays executive was watching them take batting practice and shook his head. The House Republicans have taken a total of $998,895 in contributions from the pharmaceutical industry this year. On August 12, Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Inflation Reduction Act over the opposition of every Republican in the chamber. The historic bill will reduce the federal budget deficit by hundreds of billions of dollars and includes $369 billion in funding for energy projects and combating climate change. The sweeping legislation also includes provisions to make health care more affordable for all Americans. The bill overcame many obstacles, including fierce opposition from the pharmaceutical industry, which spent millions of dollars to lobby against it. At least 13 of the GOP members of Congress who voted against the Inflation Reduction Act and are running for reelection this year took nearly a million dollars in campaign donations from the pharmaceutical industry, according to the candidates' campaign finance reports. The Chinese government has committed severe human rights violations that verge on crimes against humanity, according to a newly released and highly anticipated United Nations report that has been years in the making. The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights released the 45-page report late Wednesday night, just minutes before outgoing commissioner Michelle Bachelet’s term in office came to an end at midnight Geneva time. Its publication had been delayed multiple times while China had opposed its release. TAIWAN FIRES WARNING SHOTS AT CHINESE DRONE: REPORT Investigators concluded that “serious human rights violations have been committed” in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region under the government’s guise of a counterterrorism strategy. Specifically, they found that China’s “anti-terrorism law system” is “deeply problematic from the perspective of international human rights norms and standards” because it “has in practice led to the large-scale arbitrary deprivation of liberty of Uyghurs and other predominantly Muslim communities." They also said that the "re-education camps" were of “equal concern,” given the “allegations of patterns of torture or ill-treatment, including forced medical treatment and adverse conditions of detention, are credible,...
Former President Donald Trump appeared to be very upset with the Department of Justice, and not just because of an ongoing investigation into classified documents. Pixabay A "Real Houswife's" lawyer has supplied a statement to Heavy. On August 31, 2022, a California court found that there was no evidence of any wrongdoing by “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Erika Girardi in regard to a $5 million lawsuit that was filed by Philip R. Sheldon and Robert P. Finn in 2020. “Having no real arguments or evidence to support their claims, Plaintiffs attempt to distract the Court with ad hominem attacks on Erika Girardi (‘Ms. Girardi’) and a laundry-list of irrelevant allegations that have nothing to do with the underlying Motion for Summary Judgment (the ‘Motion’ or ‘MSJ’). Plaintiffs waste 14 pages of their opposition spouting unrelated facts that do not refute the undisputed fact that Ms. Girardi had nothing to do with the alleged ‘scheme,'” court documents submitted by Girardi’s attorney read. The judge overseeing the case ruled in favor of the defendant and Girardi’s rep sent Heavy a statement from her lawyer following the ruling. The University of California, Berkeley has introduced a mask mandate for students who have not taken a seasonal flu shot. 'Masks are required during flu season if not vaccinated for flu,' an announcement on the school's website read. The guidelines also strongly recommends that all people on UC Berkeley campuses wear masks indoors regardless of their Covid-19 vaccination status. The move, which represents a doubling down on a widely abandoned masking policy and challenges 2019 norms for seasonal flu, was met with a torrent of criticism and mocking in equal measure on social media. Lawyer and California candidate for Senate Mark Meuser said: 'UC Berkeley is going to force unvaccinated students to mask during flu season, despite the CDC saying that unvaccinated should now be treated the same as vaccinated.  'Someone should tell UC Berkeley that they should follow the science,' he quipped sarcastically. '2019 norms gone forever at Berkeley, as university makes masking compulsory in flu seasons,' another user tweeted. Other users were in utter disbelief at the decision. 'I saw some images of it and doubted it, oh...
In 2020, George Floyd’s murder by a white police officer focused the world’s attention on anti-Black lynching. Like never before, we saw huge global protests in solidarity with Black Americans. Governments, corporations, celebrities and cultural figures all spoke out against anti-Black violent and unlawful deadly policing. In April 2021, international scrutiny culminated in a report produced by leading international human rights lawyers, which I covered here for the Editorial Board. Some police killings of Black people, it said, met the legal criteria for “crimes against humanity.” The report pointed to a long history of violations of international law committed against Black people. It points to the failure of the United States government to fulfill its international human rights obligations. Page 109 reads: Commissioners’ concluded from the evidence of witnesses and attorneys that instead of requiring law enforcement officials to take precautions that protect life, US law and police practices allow law enforcement officials to arbitrarily endanger the lives of Black people. The Commissioners found a clear pattern of state-sanctioned criminalization of Black people through the targeted policing of Black...

It was very successful,' Kusher said in an interview with The National Desk. 'That’s why I am a little bit higher up than I normally am,' he said, referring to why he was wearing a shirt and a jacket fastened up over his neck. A week earlier, Kushner was spotted with wife Ivanka Trump in Rochester, Minnesota as they visited the Mayo Clinic who have been treating him for the disease.  His latest surgery comes after Kushner publicly revealed his treatment for the first time in his new book, 'Breaking History: A White House Memoir.' Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich (R) announced Tuesday that he had filed a civil rights lawsuit against the City of Tucson over its mandatory COVID-19 vaccine directive. “Tucson dictated a widespread vaccine mandate without regard to its impact on the liberties and civil rights of its employees,” Brnovich said. “Many of those affected are first responders, and it’s our turn to be there for them. The city’s misguided vaccine mandate is an ugly example of government overreach that we must vigorously oppose.” In June 2021, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey (R) signed Senate Bill (SB) 1824 into law, prohibiting government entities from requiring people to be vaccinated against COVID-19. However, before the bill’s implementation in September, Tucson crafted its mandate. In August, the Tucson City Council and Mayor Regina Romero approved Administrative Directive 2.03-7, which stated that 750 of the city’s employees must have at least their first COVID-19 vaccine by August 20. The deadline came, and the contingent was not met; thus, employees had until August 24 to provide either proof of vaccination or acceptable exemption forms. Available exemptions to...

It was a night to remember for all those present and those watching at home as 40-year-old Serena Williams was able to summon up the fortitude to win her second round-match at the US Open over world No. 2 Anett Kontaveit.   Williams seemed to turn back the clock, putting on a brilliant performance in the first set, struggling in the second and then coming out of the locker room to dominate the third set with a final score of 7-6, 2-6, 6-2.  The occasion was one of Williams' best performances this season, with the third set in particular a point of note as Kontaveit faltered and Serena got stronger. So what was it in the bathroom break at Flushing Meadows that got Serena to that point?  A reporter asked Serena if she did anything during her trip to the washroom that helped focus her efforts for her dominant final set.  Serena Williams continues writing the story book after a second round win on Wednesday  Serena Williams on what she did in the bathroom to come back in the third set...
A night after turning in one of their best offensive performances of the season to secure a third straight win, the Oakland Athletics were held to just five hits in a 5-1 loss to the Nationals Wednesday. After collecting his first career homer in the A’s first-ever game at Nationals Park Tuesday, first baseman Dermis Garcia launched another off Washington starter Aníbal Sánchez in the top of the second inning. A Sean Murphy single, a Seth Brown pinch-hit double and a Vimael Machín walk loaded the bases in the ninth against Nationals reliever Kyle Finnegan, but Stephen Vogt was unable to deliver the type of heroics that lifted the A’s to one of their best wins of the season Saturday at the Coliseum. After Vogt’s pinch-hit, two-run home run in the bottom of the 10th inning tied the game in an eventual 3-2 win over the Yankees, Vogt represtend the tying run on Wednesday in Washington but struck out on a 98-mile per hour sinker to end the game. The Athletics are an AL-worst 49-82 and assured of their first...
The 26-year-old member of the Dutch Commando Corps who lost his life after being shot dead as he walked home with his comrades from an Indianapolis nightclub on Saturday night has been pictured for the first time since the killing.  Simmie Poetsema was shot in the back of the head outside the Hampton Inn hotel having brushed against his killer on the sidewalk on his way back to the property. Poetsema was with two fellow solider who were also shot and injured at the time. Shamar Duncan, 22, is accused of carrying out the fatal shooting. He allegedly told a friend who was with him that morning that he opened fire on the soldiers because he 'flipped out,' according to an arrest affidavit. An unnamed witness also told cops that Duncan and his two friends were 'looking for trouble' and that the onlooker saw them cross a street and shove a man in a group of people, who walked away.  Duncan's group then picked a fight with the soldiers, the witness said. Simmie Poetsema, 26, died in the shooting after suffering...
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Wednesday called several elected Republicans for using violent rhetoric in high-profile statements, as she called MAGA an 'extreme threat' to the nation's democracy. She made the charged comments in advance of President Joe Biden's prime time speech about the 'soul of the nation' – amid deep splits in the country and daily revelations following the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. With Biden's popularity seeing a slight uptick amid the focus on Trump, Jean-Pierre tore into some of the former president's GOP allies, even as she repeatedly referenced the Hatch Act to avoid comment on political subjects. 'The President thinks that there is an extremist threat to our democracy,' she said. She added: 'The way that he sees it, the MAGA Republicans are the most energized part of the Republican Party.' She also defended Biden comparing MAGA to 'semi-fascism.'  'You have representative Paul Gosar, he's posted videos depicting him attacking the President and members of Congress,' she said, in reference to a doctored anime that showed the Arizona lawmaker taking on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The...
(CNN)The Department of Justice doesn't want you to believe what former President Donald Trump says about the classified documents found squirreled away at Mar-a-Lago.So rather than let the former President play up an "incomplete and inaccurate narrative" about the classified documents, government lawyers have shown some of them to us.A photo of a spread of classified documents laid out on the floor as evidence at Mar-a-Lago is one of the many tantalizing breadcrumbs included in a new court filing by the DOJ late Tuesday night. We still don't know what's in the documents. The larger picture is coming together. These piecemeal details help form a picture of the case the DOJ could potentially bring against Trump and his associates. Government prosecutors included the photo evidence, presumably taken during the August 8 search of Trump's Florida residence, in a filing that aims to squash his effort to slow down their case.Read More Read the document. Democrats are ramping up advertising efforts against Senate candidate Herschel Walker (R-GA), targeting the Senate hopeful with allegations of violent threats toward his ex-wife in the past. The ad is one of the first substantial efforts from Democrats to target Walker’s abuse allegations specifically, building on efforts from some Republicans who sought to use the allegations during the GOP primary as proof that he could cost the party the general election. The 30-second video will hit airwaves Wednesday and last until Election Day. WARNOCK RAISES $240,000 FROM BIG PHARMA EXECS DESPITE CALLS TO LOWER DRUG COSTS “While Herschel Walker has demonstrated a pattern of repeating lies and spreading falsehoods, he has never denied his ex-wife Cindy’s accusations of violence,” Senate Majority PAC spokeswoman Veronica Yoo told NBC. “We encourage voters to further research Herschel Walker’s publicly documented record of violence and decide for themselves whether he is ready to represent Georgia values in the United States Senate.” The commercial is funded by Georgia Honor, a political organization affiliated with the Senate Majority PAC and Senate...
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre criticized five Republicans by name as representatives of the "extreme wing" of the party who are attacking democracy. Her comments came while discussing President Joe Biden's Thursday night address regarding the "soul of our nation," and she specifically pointed to Reps. Paul Gosar (AZ), Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), Madison Cawthorn (NC), Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL), and former President Donald Trump of carrying out "attacks on our core values as a country." BIDEN IN PA: FUND THE POLICE, FIGHT GUN VIOLENCE, AND OUST MAGA REPUBLICANS "There are more examples than I can count on how we have seen, recently, armed attacks on federal law enforcement," she explained before listing off those specific lawmakers. "These are things that we have to call out." Jean-Pierre claimed that Biden, who on Tuesday similarly singled out MAGA voters from typical Republicans during a speech in Pennsylvania, will not "shy away from what he believes." "He has the obligation to speak out against threats against our democracy, against violence." she continued. "He believes as president, you have the strongest platform,...
New York (CNN Business)Some of the biggest stars at Fox News have been deposed in recent days as a voting technology company presses forward in its $1.6 billion lawsuit against the right-wing talk channel.Lawyers for Dominion Voting Systems notified Fox News last week that it would be deposing host Tucker Carlson Wednesday, court filings show. They also sought Sean Hannity's deposition last week, and Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo is scheduled to appear for a deposition next week, according to court filings. Each of the hosts are specifically mentioned in Dominion's complaint against the network. The depositions come as Dominion works to gather evidence that supports its case that the network defamed the company by spreading lies about fraud in the 2020 election that hurt Dominion's business. It's unclear what the Fox News personalities who have sat with Dominion lawyers said or were questioned about during their depositions.Dominion has alleged the network "recklessly disregarded the truth" and participated in a disinformation campaign against it because "the lies were good for Fox's business."Read MoreFox News has contested such claims and said...
