This is the wild moment angry Delta flight attendants told a wheelchair-bound man the TSA would forcibly remove him from a flight after he refused to deplane because his wheelchair hadn't been brought to the gate.  Cory Lee, a Georgia-based accessibility travel blogger, had just returned to Atlanta from Santiago and was waiting to disembark when he learned his wheelchair wasn't ready for him. When Lee - who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy - told the flight crew he would wait until his chair was ready to disembark, he said they became irate and in a rage insisted that he leave the plane. He held his ground however and because he knew the Air Carrier Access Act required the airline to allow him to remain on the plane until his chair was ready. Lee blogs about traveling with disabilities, and posted video of the altercation on his Instagram.

A flight was thrown into chaos when it was hit by turbulence over the Atlantic, leaving passengers thrown around the cabin, screaming and one breaking their nose on the ceiling. The Aerolíneas Argentinas AR1133 flight took off at 8.21pm on October 18 from Madrid and was heading to Buenos Aires. But the Airbus A330 that was carrying 271 passengers and 13 crew members was affected by bad turbulence. Turbulence began around seven hours into the 12-hour flight off the coast of Brazil when the passenger jet sagged and shook around at 11,500 metres (38,000 feet). Three children were among the 13 people killed in their own homes late Monday when Russia’s ’roided up war machine resulted in a military plane incinerating a residential building in the Krasnodar region. Russian officials say those affected by the catastrophe should focus on positive thinking, and head back to work Tuesday in “a good mood.” The questionable advice comes as ordinary Russians, perhaps for the first time since Moscow launched its full-scale war against Ukraine on Feb. 23, are finally able to see the gaping cracks starting to show in the Kremlin’s tired narrative that Russian citizens are under threat from Ukrainians. Instead, it would appear the bigger threat is their own military—and the death cult in the Kremlin. Veniamin Kondratyev, the Krasnodar governor, arrived at the scene in Yeysk while rescuers were still digging people out of the rubble late Monday following a jet crash that left 19 injured in addition to more than a dozen dead. He offered some spectacularly tone-deaf advice to those who lost loved ones or otherwise suffered as a result of...

Florida's governor accused critics of his move to fly migrants to Martha's Vineyard of 'virtue signaling', saying their concern for the welfare of the migrants was a 'fraud' - as California's governor said he should be investigated for possible kidnapping. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday chartered a plane to send 50 people, mainly Venezuelans, to the exclusive Massachusetts holiday island.  The move sparked outrage among Democrats and human rights groups, who accused him of playing politics with peoples' lives and tricking the migrants with promises of expedited work permits if they boarded the plane. On Thursday night, CNN reported that the migrants were in Texas, and then flown to Martha's Vineyard. Many said they had no idea where they were going.  Charlie Crist, the former governor of Florida who is now seeking to unseat DeSantis, called him a 'monster' for 'using children as a stunt'. Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, wrote to the Department of Justice to request that DeSantis be investigated for kidnapping. But DeSantis, widely considered to be contemplating a run for the White House in 2024, was...

PASSENGERS on a Spirit Airlines flight on Sunday were jolted out of their seats by a fire that appeared to be coming from the aircraft. The flight crew told passengers to remain seated during the incident, which was reportedly caused by overheated brakes. Video of the incident showed passengers scrambling to the windows to look outside at the smoke emanating from outside the plane. Another video posted on Twitter shows a fire truck outside the aircraft responding to the situation. According to the airline, the smoke was a result of overheated brakes. “Spirit Flight 383 from Tampa to Atlanta landed safely in Atlanta International Airport and upon landing one of the brakes overheated," the company said in an email statement to the US Sun. "The aircraft was towed to the gate where Guests safely deplaned without any injuries."
A British couple’s dream holiday in Canada ended in a ‘nightmare’ when they were ordered off their plane by armed police without being given any explanation. Retired surveyor Richard Brailey, 71, and his wife Patricia, 66, were among at least 25 passengers forced to leave the Air Canada flight before it left Montreal for Heathrow. The couple were given no reason for their ejection, but were later told by airline staff in the terminal that they may have been thrown off for being drunk or not wearing masks. They were left mystified because they had not been drinking and had been wearing masks constantly in their seats as they waited for the plane to take off shortly after midnight on Monday. Other passengers thrown off the plane allegedly included a pregnant woman, a couple with two children, at least three members of the Williams Racing Formula 1 team and the doctor for the Aston Martin team who had been in Montreal for the Grand Prix over the weekend. Mr Brailey insisted that he had not seen any other passengers misbehaving...

An Air Force crew has been disciplined for landing a Hercules aircraft at Martha's Vineyard to pick up a vintage BMW motorcycle one of them owned. The crew from the 403rd Wing of the Hurricane Hunters in Mississippi have been punished for 'abusing government assets' after they were seen loading up the vintage bike onto their aircraft on March 25.  The five-person team was reportedly downgraded after Air Force leadership found out about the excursion on March 27, according to CNN Politics, meaning each member lost ratings or credentials that they will have to earn back and could potentially push them under their required number of flight hours to be able to fly. The military also grounded the men, forcing another crew to pick up the members and the aircraft, according to KFOR 4 News.  'We hold our reservists to the highest standards of conduct and these actions are not tolerated,' Colonel Stuart Rubio, the commander of the 403rd Wing, said in a statement, viewed by CNN Politics.  The 403rd Wing of the Hurricane Hunters from Mississippi fly their Hercules (pictured)...

A Boeing 777 'went nuts' while landing in France earlier this month when the pilots pulled their controls in opposite directions at the same time, investigators have said.  Air France flight AF011 from New York to Paris carrying 192 passengers and crew was around 1,000ft from the ground on its final approach to Charles de Gaulle airport when the pilots ran into trouble and had to abort the landing. The mother of an 11-year-old girl who emerged as the sole survivor of a plane crash on a Michigan island that killed four people, including her father, says she believes her husband saved their daughter's life by wrapping her in a bear hug.  Christine Perdue spoke out for the first time since Saturday's crash on Beaver Island, telling Good Morning America on Tuesday that her daughter Laney's final memory before impact was of her father, Mike Perdue, holding her.  'Laney told me in the hospital that her last memory is that dad just grabbed her and held her really, really tight,' Christie said while standing outside Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, where her daughter is being treated. 'In my heart I know it protected her.'  The mother of four revealed that Laney suffered five broken bones, but all of the fractures were on one side of her body, suggesting that her other side was spared thanks to her father's protective stance.  'I believe that would make sense to me that if her injuries were on one side, then her...
Migrants may have plotted on Facebook to force their plane into an emergency landing so they could illegally enter Spain. Their flight from Morocco was diverted to Mallorca after one passenger allegedly feigned illness, claiming to have slipped into a diabetic coma. Once the Air Arabia Maroc aircraft was on the tarmac, he and a friend were taken to hospital.

Georgetown professor Don Moynihan angered parents after he suggested their wanting to decide how best to educate their children was equivalent to passengers thinking they could fly an airplane. Parents across the country have been speaking out against their local school boards over what they perceive to be progressive agendas, particularly the popular rise of critical race theory. Moynihan shared a screenshot of a tweet Tuesday from former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo supporting parents in their fight, writing, "I think parents should decide what children are taught in schools. That is all." Moynihan juxtaposed the quote next to a cartoon depicting a plane full of passengers arrogantly saying they could fly the aircraft better than the pilot, along with the caption, "Same energy." PARENTS RESPOND TO DOJ, SCHOOL BOARDS' STATEMENTS: ‘AM I WHAT A DOMESTIC TERRORIST LOOKS LIKE?’ In one follow-up tweet, Moynihan added, "Pompeo is a West Point grad. Perhaps he should return there and tell the graduates that their parents should determine the curriculum. Better yet, why not let tell military leaders that their parents are going...
The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary report on a plane crash in Connecticut that killed a Boston couple and two pilots, revealing that the aircraft's parking brake was still in the 'set' position, and that witnesses described the jet as 'going slower' than normal during takeoff. The report, which came out on Tuesday, also said that the witnesses saw a puff of smoke and noticed the twin-engine Cessna 560XL was having trouble gaining altitude. The NTSB did not say what may have caused the deadly September 2 crash in Farmington, which remains under investigation. The small plane was to have flown from Robertson Airport in Plainville to Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, North Carolina. But it crashed into a laser factory shortly after takeoff and burst into flames. Killed were a Boston couple who were both doctors, Courtney Haviland, 33, her husband, William Shrauner, 32, and the two pilots, William O’Leary, 55, of Bristol, and Mark Morrow, 57, of Danbury. Four people on the ground were injured, including one who was seriously hurt.  Haviland and Shrauner...
Sean Boger was one of the few people at the Pentagon who saw the plane coming in so low it took down a street light. "I just looked up and, you know, a plane was flying directly at us," he said. He said it was just 10 to 15 seconds before the plane hit the building. "I just couldn't believe something that big could be flying that low and flying directly at us," he reiterated. Boger was in the control tower for the Pentagon's helipad when he saw the plane, which was flying at 530 mph, loaded with 7,000 gallons of jet fuel and carrying 59 people.  He said when the plane hit, it sounded "like someone sawing medal, so you can hear the medal grinding through the concrete." It was Sheila Moody's first day at the Pentagon, and her office was on the outer ring of the building directly in the path of the plane. She said it sounded like "an explosion, like a bomb. When I opened my eyes there was a fireball just passing right beside...
While 9/11 ripped so many loved ones apart, it brought Houston couple Nick and Diane Marson together in the strangest way.  The pair were flying separately on a U.S.-bound international flight on Sept. 11, 2001, when their plane was diverted to New Foundland, Canada, following the attacks and after U.S. airspace had closed, according to FOX 26 Houston.  "I noticed the flight attendant was extremely nervous and almost visibly shaking and I thought she’s really not cut out for this job," Nick, 73, told the station. "Little did I realize she was probably walking around the plane looking for other people that might have been terrorists."  Theirs and nearly 40 other flights were diverted to New Foundland where they stayed for several days, along with thousands of others, waiting for news and a chance to go home.  "They just opened their pantries, their refrigerators, and made food for almost 7,000 people," Diane, 80, who has now been married to her husband for 19 years, said of the welcoming Canadians.  ICONIC 9/11 PHOTOS AND THE PHOTOGRAPHERS WHO SHOT THEM: HERE ARE...

Four hours or so into the flight, the pilot came over the intercom and announced the airplane would be diverting to Newfoundland, Canada. “There are problems in US airspace,” the captain said, giving no further details. Nick was a British businessman in his 50s who worked in the oil industry. He was heading to Texas for work, and had no idea where Newfoundland was. “I looked out the window because I thought he might not be telling us the truth, and maybe an engine was on fire,” Nick tells CNN Travel today. At the other end of the aircraft, Diane took in the news. An American divorcee who’d just turned 60, she was returning from visiting her son, who was in the US...
On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists successfully hijacked four California-bound planes, with the intention of crashing them into iconic buildings.  By 9.30am the World Trade Centre, one of New York City's most famous landmarks, had been hit, hundreds killed and many more trapped in the floors above. Flight 77 had been hijacked and was en route for the Pentagon; Flight 93 also had terrorists at the controls. Al-Qaeda's mission was going exactly to plan. 9.31am: Terrorist Ziad Jarrah is at the controls of Flight 93. He is out of breath after struggling with the pilots as he attempts to speak to the 33 passengers on board over the intercom, but as he is unfamiliar with the controls he inadvertently transmits his message to air traffic control instead: 'Ladies and Gentlemen.  Here the captain, please sit down keep remaining sitting. We have a bomb on board. So, sit.' But there is no bomb — his aim is to crash the plane on either the Capitol or the White House. Firefighters and emergency crews at the scene...
On at least two documented occasions, a body was seen falling from the sky to the ground below. What are the details? According to a Wednesday report from the Daily Mail, the brothers — who remain unnamed at the time of this reporting — sold watermelon at Kabul's central market to help provide for their mother. The bodies of the teens have reportedly been recovered and turned over to their family. The report cited a Twitter user who reportedly knew the young men. "Genuinely in tears right now," the user wrote according to the outlet. "Two young boys who fell whilst clinging onto U.S. planes were my Aunts neighbors. Both boys aged 16 & 17, bodies have just been brought home to their parents. Both boys would sell watermelons in Kabul markets and feed off the bins to survive and provide for their mother. The 2 boys were their mother's only children. She has no other family and has no idea how she will survive under Taliban regime." What else? On...
A CLIP has emerged showing frantic Afghan stowaways clinging to a US plane moments before three are believed to have fallen hundreds of feet to their death.  The latest video apparently shows an Afghan civilian tethered to wheels of the C-17 as it takes off from Kabul airport. 2The stowaway appears to be trapped in the landing gear 2What appears the stowaways falling from a C-17 leaving Kabul It is impossible to know if he was alive or dead at the time the film was shot. But his limbs can be seen helplessly thrown around by the extreme air currents after the military plane is airborne.  It is unlikely the man survived the ordeal but his fate is unknown.  The routing of the aircraft was not immediately clear.  The footage highlights —which The Sun has chosen not to show due to its distressing nature — the utter desperation of civilians fearing certain death if they are caught by the Taliban.  It follows several deeply distressing videos showing stowaways falling to their deaths soon after it was airborne. Texas Rep. Beth Van Duyne called out Democrats in her state for fleeing to Washington, D.C. to avoid voting on an election integrity law and accused them of failing to fulfill their duties as public servants. "While these Democrats are jetting around, drinking beer, and contracting COVID, we’ve been busy connecting thousands of North Texans with jobs for their futures," Van Duyne, a Republican, told Fox News after it was revealed that at least three of the fleeing Democrats contracted the coronavirus.
