The University of Florida has dismissed quarterback Jalen Kitna from the football team following his arrest on child pornography charges. The Gators revealed the decision Friday to ESPN days after the 19-year-old was accused of sending exploitative material over social media. Kitna, the son of former NFL quarterback Jon, was initially suspended over the allegations, which the school called 'extremely serious charges.' He was released from jail Thursday on $80,000 bond following his arrest on Wednesday. Jon, 50, said at Thursday's pretrial hearing that he would bring Jalen back to live with him in Texas ahead of his trial. Jalen is prohibited from using the internet and cannot have unsupervised contact with minors as a condition of his release. Jalen appeared in four games this season as a backup to starter Anthony Richardson. A judge ordered Kitna not to have any unsupervised contact with minors and to not have any access to the internet. A Lancaster city man who shared child porn on Facebook has been convicted on child porn charges, the Lancaster County district attorney's office announced on Tuesday, Sept. 20.  De Ok Kar, 42, of the 200 block of West King Street, was convicted on seven charges related to disseminating and possessing child pornography during a bench trial on Thursday, Sept. 15, by Lancaster County Judge Jeffrey Conrad, the DA's offices detailed in the release.  Investigators received multiple tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children on July 29, 2019, according to the release.  "Police Detective Ryan Hockley filed charges, testified, and attended the entirety of the trial," the DA's office says.  Kar was found to have "possessed and shared multiple digital video files of children under the age of 18 engaged in a prohibited sexual act or the simulation of such act,"  Assistant District Attorney Janie Swinehart testified. Kar saved the child pornography on his cell phone, laptop, and Facebook account, where he was a part of a group that would trade child pornography, Swinehart said.  Judge Conrad found Kar guilty on...
By MICHAEL TARM and JOEY CAPPELLETTI CHICAGO (AP) — A federal jury in Chicago convicted R. Kelly on Wednesday of producing child pornography and enticing girls for sex after a monthlong trial in his hometown, delivering another legal blow to the Grammy Award winning singer who was once one of the world’s biggest R&B stars. Prosecutors won convictions on six of the 13 counts against him, with many of the convictions carrying long mandatory sentences. But the government lost the marquee count — that Kelly and his then-business manager successfully rigged his state child pornography trial in 2008. Both of his co-defendants, including longtime business manager Derrel McDavid — who had told jurors that testimony from four Kelly accusers had led him to change his mind about Kelly’s believability — were acquitted of all charges. The trial was, in ways, a do-over of Kelly’s 2008 child pornography trial, with a key video critical to both. Kelly, who shed tears of joy when jurors acquitted him in 2008, gave a thumbs-up sign to spectators after Wednesday’s verdict but otherwise showed little...
Jurors at R. Kelly's child pornography trial watched graphic clips from three sex tapes of the singer sexually assaulting his goddaughter when she was only 14. Although the visuals of the late 90s tapes were obscured from view for the rest of the courthouse, audio could be heard of the young victim, going by the pseudonym 'Jane,' speaking to Kelly about her genitals, the Chicago Tribune reported.  'Get on your knees,' the teen is instructed by a man alleged to be Kelly.  'Daddy, do you still love me,' the victim responds. The man then gives 'sexually explicit instructions' to the young girl as he warns her to follow directions as she apologizes.  Friday's tapes are at the center of the federal case against Kelly, a convicted pedophile, who faces new allegations of enticing minors for sex, producing child pornography, and rigging his 2008 pornography trial. A Chicago jury watched clips of three separate sex videos of convicted pedophile R. Kelly (pictured at a Chicago holding cell in 2019) having sex with his then 14-year-old goddaughter  Kelly allegedly shot the tapes between...
A SURVIVALIST who police say faked his own death to avoid facing child pornography charges has been caught after six years on the run. "The arrest of Jacob Greer after six years is a testament to the tenacity of Deputy US Marshals and our investigative partners,” US Marshal for the Southern District of Iowa Ted Kamatchus said in a news release. 2Police say Jacob Greer was on the run for nearly six years after faking his own deathCredit: U.S. MARSHALS SERVICE 2He was arrested in Washington on April 4 and will be brought back to Iowa to stand trial, authorities saidCredit: Getty “Even though the case went cold, they would not quit.” Greer was last seen on June 3, 2016, at a Walmart in Montana. People may want to think twice before messing with Jill Duggar — because her husband, Derick Dillard, is officially a lawyer. Derick, 33, has officially passed the Arkansas bar exam, which he sat for on February 23, about eight months after he graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in May 2021.  While the Dillards have not yet publicly acknowledged the achievement, the Supreme Court of Arkansas reports that Derick has completed all of the requirements to 'be certified to the Clerk of the Arkansas Supreme Court for admission as [an] attorney licensed to practice law in Arkansas.'  Jill Duggar's husband, Derick Dillard, 33, has officially passed the Arkansas bar exam, which he sat for on February 23 He graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in May 2021 and now, according to the Supreme Court of Arkansas, has completed all the requirements to be a lawyer Derick is the most educated of the Duggar and Duggar-adjacent clan, having graduated with a degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University a decade ago and earned in JD last year Derick is...
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A judge has set an April sentencing date for former reality TV star Josh Duggar, who was convicted last year of federal child pornography charges. Duggar — whose family was featured on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting” — was convicted of one count each of receiving and possessing child pornography. He faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 for each count. U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks on Tuesday scheduled Duggar’s sentencing for April 5 in Fayetteville, about 140 miles (225 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock. Federal authorities said they began investigating Duggar after a Little Rock police detective found that child porn files were being shared by a computer traced to Duggar. A federal agent testified that images depicting the sexual abuse of children, including toddlers, were downloaded in 2019 onto a computer at a car dealership Duggar owned. Duggar’s attorneys have filed for a new trial or an acquittal. His trial attorneys had argued that someone else downloaded or uploaded the images onto the computer. Copyright © 2022...
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Former reality TV star Josh Duggar has asked a federal judge for a new trial or an acquittal, a little over a month after he was convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography. A jury convicted Duggar last month of one count each of receiving and possessing child pornography. A sentencing date hasn’t been set for Duggar, who faces up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $250,000 for each count. In a court filing Wednesday, Duggar’s attorneys argued that prosecutors failed to present evidence that Duggar “knew that the visual depictions were of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct,” which they say is a necessary element for a conviction. Federal authorities said they began investigating Duggar after a Little Rock police detective found that child porn files were being shared by a computer traced to Duggar. A federal agent testified in May that images depicting the sexual abuse of children, including toddlers, were downloaded in 2019 onto a computer at a car dealership Duggar owned. During the trial, Duggar’s lawyers argued...
Lawyers for disgraced reality star Josh Duggar have requested an acquittal in his child sex abuse trial due to a lack of evidence, a month after the 33-year-old was convicted of the 'worst of the worst' child porn charges.  A motion filed on January 19 by Duggar's legal team, led by defense attorney Justin Gelfand, requested an acquittal or a new trial if an acquittal is denied.  'The evidence elicited at trial does not support a conviction on either count — even in the light most favorable to the Government,' the motion, seen by TODAY, said.  'The Government failed to adduce any evidence that Duggar "knew that the visual depictions were of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct" - a necessary element for conviction of each count.'  Duggar was convicted in December on charges of possessing child pornography and receipt of child pornography, though his legal team indicated at the time they intend to appeal.  The trial in Fayetteville, Arkansas heard how Duggar used his considerable tech skills to scour the dark web for videos of little girls being tortured, humiliated...
Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard said they have been 'lied to so much' about Josh Duggar's actions that they had to hear the evidence in court for themselves — and while the trial felt like a 'funeral,' they believe the jury reached a 'just verdict.' Jill, 30, and Derick, 32, shared their thoughts on Thursday after Josh, 33, was found guilty of receiving and possessing child pornography, charges which carry up to 20 years in prison each. In the statement, the couple used Bible verses to condemn hypocrisy, and even appeared to take a dig at Jill's father Jim Bob with a verse about he who 'justifies the wicked.' Meanwhile, parents Jim Bob and Michelle released a carefully-crafted statement of their own, saying they will 'never stop praying for Joshua, and loving him, as we do all of our children.'  Josh Duggar, 33, was convicted of receiving and possessing child pornography on Thursday and is in jail awaiting sentencing   Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard said they have been 'lied to so much' about Josh's actions that...

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A federal jury in Arkansas resumed deliberations Thursday in the trial of former reality TV star Josh Duggar, who is accused of receiving and possessing child pornography. Duggar, 33, faces up to 20 years in prison on each of the two counts if convicted. He was featured on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting,” which was pulled in 2015 over revelations that Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter. The jury in northwest Arkansas began its deliberations at midday Wednesday but ended the day without announcing a verdict. Jurors resumed deliberating Thursday morning. Duggar was charged in April after child pornography was discovered on a computer at his workplace. Defense attorneys for Duggar have argued that someone else downloaded or placed the child pornography onto the work computer, noting that no child pornography was found on Duggar’s phone or laptop. In closing arguments Wednesday, defense attorney Justin Gelfand told jurors that federal agents “were so star-struck about the possibility of prosecuting Josh Duggar” that they ignored other evidence. But federal prosecutors showed jurors...
Jurors have begun deliberating in the trial of former reality TV star Josh Duggar who faces up to 40 years behind bars if he's found guilty of downloading a vile trove of child porn. In closing speeches Wednesday, the government ridiculed the 'fantasy' claim of Duggar's lawyers that a 'high level hacker' could have remotely accessed the reality star's work computer to trawl for the sick material. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carly Marshall also recalled what Duggar had told the FBI in November 2019 when they raided his car lot in Springdale, Arkansas: 'What's this all about, has someone been downloading child pornography?' 'No-one had mentioned child pornography,' Marshall told Duggar's federal trial in Fayetteville, Arkansas. 'Where did his first thought go? Who is the first one to bring up child pornography – Joshua Duggar.'  Josh Duggar and wife Anna arrive at court in Fayetteville, Arkansas Wednesday ahead of closing arguments in his child porn trial  Duggar, 33, who pleaded not guilty, is soon to learn his fate as the jury deliberates The court heard that Duggar further admitted to...
Jill Duggar's husband Derick Dillard, 32, said that he is 'praying for justice this morning' as he headed to court to hear lawyers' closing arguments today in his brother-in-law Josh's trial on child pornography charges. Derick, who has been present for every day of the trail, fired off the damning tweet just after 8:30 a.m. local time in Arkansas, not long before he was seen arriving at the Washington County courthouse. Derick, who graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law in May, has been one of the most vocal members of the family in condemning Josh, saying earlier this year that 'obviously if there is anything there related to child pornography, we hope that justice is done.' After sending off the tweet this morning — is first about the trial since it began — Derick was pictured arriving at court hand-in-hand with his wife Jill, 30, who had not sat through any other day of the trial. Jill had been listed as a potential witness, likely because she has previously spoken out about how Josh molested her when she was a...
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A federal jury in Arkansas has begun deliberations in the trial of former reality TV star Josh Duggar, who is accused of receiving and possessing child pornography. The jury began its deliberations at midday Wednesday, a week after the trial began in northwest Arkansas. Duggar, 33, faces up to 20 years in prison on each of the two counts if convicted. He was featured on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting,” which was pulled in 2015 over revelations that Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter. Defense attorneys for Duggar have argued that someone else downloaded or placed the child pornography onto the work computer, noting that no child pornography was found on Duggar’s phone or laptop. But federal prosecutors showed jurors detailed logs showing, minute by minute, the activity on Duggar’s computer that alternated between him sending personal messages, downloading child porn and saving pictures of notes. Josh Duggar's sister Jill Dillard made a brief rare appearance outside court Tuesday while dropping off her husband at her brother's child porn trial.   DailyMail.com spotted the reality star pulling up to the John Paul Hammerschmidt federal courthouse in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where her husband Derick Dillard, and other members of her family, has been a spectator at the proceedings. The mom-of-two, who is the second-eldest daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, did not join her relatives in the courtroom and drove off shortly after.  Jill, 30, has been notably absent at the trial, where she her other brother Jed were chosen as potential witnesses last week.  It was not revealed whether they would be called by either the prosecution or defense, however, both are yet to testify.  Jill Dillard made a rare brief appearance outside court Tuesday while dropping off husband Derick at brother Josh Duggar's child porn trial DailyMail.com spotted the reality star pulling up to John Paul Hammerschmidt courthouse where her relatives have been supporting her older sibling who is facing 40 years in prison The mom-of-two,...
Josh Duggar's internet network was so insecure someone could have hijacked his computer to remotely watch child porn in a so-called 'hit and run attack', a court heard. Michele Bush, a computer forensics expert giving evidence for the defense, told jurors today that the internet at Wholesale Motorcars was on a low security setting called 'universal plug and play'. The setup allowed multiple devices to seamlessly establish internet connections but it also left it 'extremely vulnerable' to what she described as a 'hit and run' attack. She described a scenario whereby a remote user, or hacker, could potentially log on, do something nefarious, then quickly log off again without the account holder ever knowing. Likening Duggar's network to a house, she said: 'All of its doors are unlocked. Anyone can come in and they can do what they want.' Jill Duggar is getting in some much-needed puppy therapy amid her older brother Josh's child porn trial this month. On Sunday, the 30-year-old and her husband, Derick Dillard, 32, took their sons, Israel and Samuel, to a local pet store to play with puppies, and she shared video of the giggling boys having a blast. Jill certainly seemed to enjoy the moment of levity, too, as her borther Josh goes into the second week of his trial on charges of receiving and posessessing child pornography. 'Puppies are defintiely good therapy, right love?' she asked Derick.  Jill — who also debuted a new blonde hairdo on the second day of his trial last week — has been reported as a potential witness in the trial, and may be called on to testify this week about how Josh molested her when she was a child. A sick trove of child porn found on Josh Duggar's work computer was protected by the same password used for his family's Instagram account, a court heard today. Prosecutors say Duggar used his business HP to download videos of minors being humiliated and abused but hid his sordid activity behind a device called a Linux partition. The Linux system effectively created a second, secret operating system on the same computer that could only be accessed by rebooting the machine, hitting F9 and manually typing in the password intel1988. It's behind this partition that the government says Duggar used encrypted 'peer-to-peer' software to anonymously search for and download child porn files from the dark web.  The court in Josh Duggar's trial heard Friday that child porn found on his computer was protected by the same password used for his family's Instagram account Josh Duggar and wife Anna are seen arriving for Friday's proceedings at his trial in Fayetteville Arkansas  The couple, pictured with six of their seven young children, subscribed to a service in 2013 called Covenant Eyes that monitors adult...
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — A desktop computer found with child pornography at former reality TV star Josh Duggar’s workplace also included an operating system that could allow a user to circumvent an accountability application that monitored internet usage, computer analysts testified. Duggar, 33, is charged with receiving and possessing child pornography and faces up 20 years in prison on each count if convicted. His federal trial began this week in northwest Arkansas. Duggar, who was featured on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting” show, was charged in April. Prosecutors say child pornography was downloaded to the computer at the used-car lot where Duggar worked in May 2019. Computer analysts told the jury Thursday that a Linux operating system and partition were installed on the desktop computer that allowed it to evade a tracking program. The partition essentially split the computer’s hard drive into a public-facing side that was business-related and included the tracking program and a second side that used the Linux system, the analysts said. James Fottrell of the Department of Justice told jurors that sexually explicit photos and videos...
Jurors in the Josh Duggar trial were given a 'virtual tour' of the accused child porn pervert’s computer today to demonstrate how he harvested and hid an alleged stash of warped video and images. James Fottrell, Director of the FBI's High Tech Investigation Unit, told a federal courthouse in Fayetteville, Arkansas that he used visualization software to replicate the exact desktop on Duggar's seized work PC. Using a series of screengrabs he showed how Duggar, 33, had allegedly created a secret domain where he could access the dark web to hunt for files marked 'Jailbait,' 'Pedo Mom' and 'Daisy's Destruction.' ’The latter video featured a girl of three to four months being stripped naked, posed on a bed and toilet before being tortured with hot wax. The infant is crying and screaming,’ the veteran investigator told jurors.  'It's one of the most offensive videos that I’m familiar with throughout my career.' Fottrell told the court that he identified that particular video through something called a torrent file that was present on the HP computer taken from Duggar's used...

Mother-of-19 Michelle Duggar is facing criticism on social media after she promoted a book about the 'assault on Christianity,' with critics arguing that there is no such assault on the world's most widely-practiced religion — but that Michelle's oldest son, Josh, did assault his sisters. Michelle, 55, shared her reading recommendation on Facebook on Sunday, calling the book 'powerful' and 'thought-provoking.'  But many commenters have said they won't be taking her suggestion to heart, insisting that she is guilty of 'covering up her son's sins' as he faces charges of receiving and possessing child pornography nearly three decades after he was caught molesting five minors. They've told Michelle that she should 'clean her own house before advising others,' with one mocking her for 'trying to set herself up as a victim' ahead of Josh's trial next week.  Living in an alternate reality: Michelle Duggar is facing criticism for promoting book about the 'assault on Christianity,' with critics saying that Michelle's son Josh assaulted his sisters Mind your business! OAKLAND — A Richmond man was convicted at trial of possessing a video that depicting an underage family member and a teen girl engaging in a sex act in his moving car, but jurors acquitted him of the more serious count of producing the video, court records show. Kealeon Shakur Dyer-Hogan, 22, received the split verdict July 13 after a weeklong trial in federal court. The case centered on the creation of a video that was shot in Dyer-Hogan’s car, while he was driving. According to prosecutors, Dyer-Hogan filmed the girl engaging in oral sex with his 13-year-old family member, then later asked the girl to prostitute for him, which she declined. Prosecutors wrote in a trial memo the girl later saw a video on social media. Dyer-Hogan testified during trial he had no intention to circulate the video, attacking a key element of the production charge that requires prosecutors prove that he “knew or had reason to know” that the video would be distributed. Dyer-Hogan still faces sex trafficking charges that were severed from the child pornography allegations, which...

Federal prosecutors pushed back against Josh Duggar's attempts to delay his child pornography trial until 2022, arguing the reality-TV star does not need eight extra months just to hire experts to examine his devices. SAN FRANCISCO — Two years after he was convicted of aggravated child porn possession and sentenced to state prison, a former Bay Area policeman lost his appeal in which he argued the prosecution committed “repeated, pervasive misconduct.” Attorneys for former California Highway Patrol officer Eric C. Lund, 56, argued that the prosecution was wrong to play portions of 15 child porn videos found in Lund’s possession during his 2018 trial, that the court allowed hearsay testimony, and that the prosecution asked improper questions when Lund took the stand in his own defense. Lund was tried twice, and convicted in October 2018 after an earlier jury hung 11-1 towards guilt. In both trials, the prosecution was allowed to play roughly 10 minutes of some of the child porn videos found on Lund’s computer. The First Appellate District, in its 55-page decision issued this week, upheld that decision by the trial court, rejecting Lund’s argument that playing the video was gratuitous because Lund was not contesting the videos contained child porn, only that he knowingly possessed them. The court cited a prior...

It is a concern to have an agent testify that the file download found on a computer is some of the worst child abuse pornography in 1,000 cases, that concerns the court. "The victims of your crime, if you committed it, concern the court. Children are involuntary victims of pornography. They’re subject to human trafficking. This weights...
