Shocking surveillance video shows the moment a female inmate ambushes a prison guard and stangles her with a pillowcase before other inmates rush to her rescue. Deputy Lilian Jimenez was attacked at the Hillsborough County Detention Center in Tampa on June 7 around 1am by inmate Bridgette Harvey, 42, who was also allegedly armed with a comb that she'd sharpened with her teeth. Before the attack, Jimenez is seen going into the jail pod's bathroom where she was told an inmate needed help. In the video, one inmate, is seen watching her every move while Harvey is seen sneaking up behind her and placing a pillowcase around her neck. Harvey has been held at the detention center since May 31 on charges of home invasion with a firearm and drugs charges. It's unclear why she attacked the deputy. In the surveillance video, a group of female inmates in the pod can be seen rushing to the guard's aid, officials said.  They helped remove the pillowcase from Jimenez's neck and released her from Harvey's grip.

The family of an alleged victim of the Gilgo Beach serial killer has slammed police for saying her death was a 'tragic accident'. Shannan Gilbert's relatives hit out at officers for claiming her disappearance in Long Island in 2010 was not suspicious. Their attorney released stunning new evidence the 24-year-old's neck had been broken before she was killed and had a puncture hole in it that could have been caused by a drill. John Ray also hinted more details would follow as he told DailyMail.com there were a lot of 'surprises in my bag' ahead of a press conference on Tuesday. Sponsored Content Summer is officially here, and the heat it frequently brings is unbearable, unwelcome, and inconvenient for everyone who has to deal with it. This season appeared to be the worst yet, with reports of heat waves destroying various countries and killing a number of people. As a result, things can become quite difficult, particularly for those who must spend the most of their day outside in the heat and sun. Additionally, people who work from home may be affected to some extent by this problem, particularly those who do not have access to cooling devices such as the Blast Personal Fan or who operate in poorly ventilated areas. Summer can have a detrimental impact on a person in a number of ways. It has the ability to dry, irritate, and flake someone’s skin. More significantly, excessive sweating puts a person at risk of being dehydrated and, in the worst-case scenario, suffering from heat stroke. Summer makes the skin sweaty and dry, and if the skin is exposed to warm, dry air for a lengthy period of time,...

The murder trial of Derek Chauvin for the death of George Floyd is underway and the evidence for conviction is blatantly obvious, Floyd’s family attorney Ben Crump told "The Story with Martha MacCallum" exclusively. Crump: The defense tried to offer that trace amounts of drugs in his system was the cause of death and it's what we have gotten used to. When you have police officers who kill marginalized people of color that they will try to assassinate the character of that individual to justify the excessive use of force that caused the death of the unarmed minority. That's the whole playbook that we've seen in so many of these cases to try to distract, to try to make people look away from the facts that are right before your eyes as to how this was unjustified. The fact that you would have video that shows George Floyd being lucid, being very engaging with the police. They didn't show any video that they were talking about. Look at the video that has been seen across the world, not only of Derek...

Getty People gather in a Manhattan park to protest on the first day of the trial for the killing of George Floyd last May on March 08, 2021 in New York City./Derek Chauvin's mugshot. The Minneapolis Police Department updated their use-of-force policy and training manual, which now bans neck restraints and chokeholds. That policy changed after the death of George Floyd on May 25, 2020. Jurors will be asked to determine whether former MPD officer Derek Chauvin violated policy when he pressed his knee into Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes, and whether his death constitutes unintentional murder or manslaughter. MPD allowed the use of neck restraints at the time of Floyd’s death, unlike many other departments in the state. However, the knee-on-neck tactic had limits in its use, and prosecutors contend that Chauvin violated policy by keeping his knee on Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes, and continued the restraint tactic after Floyd said he could not breathe.
