A social media influencer had $1 million stolen from him in an overnight robbery in Hollywood Hills, California, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD were called at 3 a.m. Wednesday from a home believed to be used as an Airbnb, Fox LA reported.

LAPD investigators were told the victims were woken up by at least two suspects in ski masks who had managed to enter into the multi-million-dollar house, according to the publication.

 

At least one of the suspects was armed and used the gun to pistol-whip one of the victims, causing head injuries, it added.

Atta, 20, is a trade investor who has more than 272,000 Instagram followers for his @nourtrades account.

Authorities said the suspects went on to ransack the home and stole an estimated $1 million in jewelry before they left the scene.

Atta told Fox LA the suspects likely gained entry because he had left the back door open.

He believes he was targeted by the suspects.

Atta said: 'I didn't hear a lot, I just heard yelling. A bunch of "get up, get up" this, that.

'I'm sure a lot of people know me online, it's very easy to find me out and that's just what's going on out here, especially in LA.'

When first responders arrived, he and a friend were seen by medical personnel and did not require hospitalization, Fox LA reported.

Police are continuing to investigate the robbery and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A 36-year-old man walking in the highway was struck and killed by two vehicles in Prince William County, authorities said.

The man was in the northbound lanes of Richmond Highway near Russell road in Quantico when he was hit by a 2010 BMW 5 heading south, and then another car while he laid in the roadway around 6 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5

At the time of the crash, the victim was wearing dark-colored clothing and walking in the roadway outside of a crosswalk.

The driver of the second vehicle continued southbound on Richmond Highway and did not stop. It was unclear if the driver was aware they struck the man.

The driver of the BMW, a 17-year-old girl, remained on scene at of the crash and was uninjured. 

Rescue personnel responded and pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors in the collision on the part of the BMW driver.  

The identity of the victim will be released pending notification of a next-of-kin. Investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police and are urging anyone who believe they may have been the driver of the second vehicle to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
