A CASTLE fabled to be the birthplace of King Arthur is at risk of tumbling into the sea due to coastal erosion.

Parts of the cliff in front of Tintagel Castle’s visitor centre have already been lost as waves batter the coastline, said English Heritage.

And it reckons several other ancient coastal sites it manages are also at risk due to rising sea levels amid climate change.

The heritage body said the rate of land lost over the past few years was “alarming”, warning sea levels are now rising at their fastest rate for nearly three millennia.

It is hoping to raise £40,000 to repair damage at Tintagel, Cornwall, which hit a viewing area and coastal path.

It also wants to raise millions to protect other sites from the sea.

Rob Woodside, of English Heritage, said: “Hundreds of heritage sites in the UK and around the world are increasingly at risk.

“If these coastal properties are to survive, we will need to strengthen their walls and build sea defences.”

King Arthur is said to have been conceived at Tintagel after his dad was transformed by wizard Merlin to look like his mother Igraine’s husband Gorlois.

What ‘bully’ Meghan Markle told stressed out aide – making her burst into tears when Prince William went to comfort her

THIS is what "bully" Meghan Markle allegedly told a stressed out aide - making her burst into tears and seek comfort from Prince William.

Jaw-dropping allegations in a new tell-all book outline a catalogue of "harsh" treatment palace staff were allegedly subjected to at the hands of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

In one standout incident - revealed in Courtiers: the Hidden Power Behind the Crown by Valentine Low - Meghan attends a meeting.

It was here where she spoke particularly harshly to a young female member of the team in front of her colleagues, The Times reports.

In an alleged exchange, the Duchess is said to have torn into the staffer over plans - it is unclear what these were for - but it was in the weeks before her May 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.

Shredding the idea, Meghan is claimed to have barked: "Don’t worry.

"If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would be asking them instead of you."

The aide was left devastated and incredibly, Prince William caught wind of this.

The Prince of Wales is alleged to have tracked down the aide to offer her a shoulder to cry on, reportedly telling her: "I hope you're ok?

“You’re doing a really good job.”

William's big-hearted gesture caused the aide to burst into tears as she poured her heart out to the kind future King.

Not long after, Meghan allegedly unloaded yet another volley of abuse on the same aide - saying she felt let down over an issue that was worrying her.

The Duchess went on to ring the aide "every ten minutes" as the aide was trying to enjoy a Friday night dinner a restaurant.

"I had to go outside to be screamed at by her and Harry", the aide said according to the book.

The Duchess supposedly was screaming: "I can’t believe you’ve done this. You’ve let me down. What were you thinking?”

The abuse started up again the following morning and raged "for days" leaving the poor staffer "terrified".

'NO BOUNDARIES'

And palace aides could "not escape" the wrath of the California-based duo and there were "no lines or boundaries", they staffer cried.

It comes as the Duchess of Sussex moaned ‘I can’t believe I’m not getting paid for this’ while meeting Australians on tour, the book claims.

A second explosive allegation in the book suggests Meghan threatened to "break up with Harry if he didn't announce they were dating".

Meanwhile Prince Harry is alleged to have feared becoming irrelevant when nephew Prince George - the future King - was born.

Meghan has always denied bullying claims, saying she is "saddened" by them.

Her spokesman said last year how allegations of bullying are the "latest attack on her character".

A bullying probe opened to investigate Meghan's behaviour will never be published - a decision slammed as pointless by insiders.
