An economist hired by attorneys for families of Sandy Hook victims testified Friday he assessed Alex Jones’ financial situation, and concluded he might be worth up to $270 million.

Jones was ordered to pay the families $4.1 million in compensatory damages Thursday after he was found liable for defaming them.

The InfoWars founder claimed for years the Sandy Hook massacre never occurred and the children murdered never existed and had been portrayed by “crisis actors.”

The jury is currently considering how much Jones must pay in punitive damages.

On Thursday, Jones posted a video on his website wherein he pleaded with his followers to buy his products and chip in to keep InfoWars afloat.

On a video stream viewed by Mediaite, Jones said, “I admitted I was wrong [to spread false information about the Sandy Hook massacre]… I followed disinformation, but not on purpose. I apologized to the families.”

Jones railed against the $4.1 million he owed, and said he feared a much larger sum was coming.

“That’s more money than my company and I personally have,” he said. “We’re in bankruptcy right now…we can barely keep the crew employed.”

“If you don’t fund us, if you don’t buy products at, we will shut down. It’s your decision,” he claimed. “We are so broke that I’m not even worried about that $4.1 million.”

Per economist Bernard Pettingill, who was hired by the plaintiffs suing Jones, he is nowhere near broke, and has a net worth of nine figures.

On the stand Friday, Pettingill said he viewed records showing Jones withdrew $61.9 million in 2021, and conducted a full forensic audit of Jones’ other accounts and withdrawals.

“That number represents in my opinion a value – a value of Alex Jones’ net worth,” he said. “He’s got money put in a bank account somewhere. He had four accounts we know of at Security Bank.”

Pettingill, after discussion of other financial records, called Jones “a very successful man.”

When asked to give his estimate on Jones’ overall worth, Pettingill said the figure — including Jones’ own personal assets and the worth of his main company Free Speech Systems — was between $135 million and $270 million.

In a premium placement ad spot, Steve got his comeuppance for his alleged ways.

In simple bold text, Jenny wrote: “Dear Steve, I hope you’re happy with her.

“Now the whole town will know what a filthy cheater you are. From Jenny. P.S. I bought this ad using your credit card.”

Unfortunately for Steve, his eyes wouldn't have been the only ones to read page 4 of the newspaper on Friday August 12.

A whopping 50,000 readers who hail from the paradise Whitsunday region near the Great Barrier Reef got to enjoy the public humiliation, too.

And despite Jenny saying she used Steve's credit card to pay for the ad, the editors of the publication said they couldn't accept it without his consent.

So they ran the whole page totally for free.

They added: “We do NOT know who Steve is, but apparently he’s been very, very bad.”
