RUGBY LEAGUE star Michael Lichaa almost died of blood loss when he punched a window after catching his ex-fiancee performing a sex act on his former team-mate.
Former Canterbury Bulldogs ace Lichaa, 29, was acquitted on Friday of domestic violence charges after his ex Kara Childerhouse declined to testify against him at Sutherland Local Court in Australia.2Rugby League star Michael Lichaa was acquitted of domestic violence chargesCredit: Getty 2Michael Lichaa caught his ex-fiancee performing a sex act on former team-mate Adam ElliottCredit: Getty
The court heard the Australian was in a state of shock after finding his former partner and ex- team-mate Adam Elliott together in his backyard.
The 29-year-old was so infuriated and affected by alcohol, as he was drinking all afternoon and into the early morning, that he punched the glass window on his front door.
The court heard that Lichaa lost 2.5 litres of blood and his dad Joe emotionally admitted he feared his son was going to die.
Concerned neighbors called the police and reported they heard a man scream “I’m going to f*****g kill her”.Read More on Rugby LeaguePITCH PROBLEMS Coventry clash with Rotherham in HUGE doubt over pitch safety fears
The ex-NRL star was charged with domestic violence after Childerhouse accused him of assaulting her.
But she refused to show up in court on Thursday and a statement, in which she retracted the allegations, was admitted into evidence.
Elliott, on the other hand, told the court he had been drinking for 12 hours on the day of the incident and when it was suggested that Lichaa had assaulted Childerhouse, he said: “I disagree.”

He pleaded guilty to the less serious charge of destroying property but Magistrate Humphreys declined to record a conviction and placed him on a two-year conditional release order.
Lichaa admitted during and after the proceedings that the ugly incident took an emotional toll.
In a testimony described by Magistrate Humphreys as “genuine and insightful”, he detailed how that event convinced him to seek counseling in order to take ownership for his actions.
Lichaa told the court on Friday: "I couldn’t get the image of my fiancee performing oral sex on my best friend out of my mind."
He added to NCA NewsWire: "I’m glad the truth finally came out; I was very confident in the truth the whole time.
“But I just want to put it all behind me now and move on with my life and happy days ahead.”
