A woman was stunned to discover a lamp covered in what appeared to be blood at a thrift store, and is now determined to find out what happened to its previous owners.

Paige Nicole, 25, from Texas, was on the hunt for a vintage lamp while shopping at a Salvation Army in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex last month.

When she came across one with a 'cool' brass base and a 'pretty' shade, she thought she had found the perfect one.

However, when she got home and plugged the light in, she was horrified when she noticed it was covered in enormous red stains that resembled blood, but were only visible when the lamp was turned on.

She shared her findings on TikTok, where the video quickly went viral - gaining more than six million views in a matter of days, and leaving many people on the web invested in the lamp and its backstory.

While chatting with DailyMail.com recently, Paige said she 'immediately noticed' the light at the vintage shop and thought it was a 'really great find.'

'The base was brass and it was just cool,' she explained. 'It reminded me of something my grandparents had in their home, so I was excited to find something vintage and familiar.'

However, after uncovering the red stains, her excitement soon turned to horror.

'I was horrified,' she recalled of the moment she discovered the blood-colored marks. 'I was shocked, surprised, and alarmed. It was surreal.'

'My mind went to blood immediately, then food, then wine - but kept going back to blood.'

She then decided to perform a test on the lamp in an attempt to uncover whether or not the substance is actually blood.

Human blood has an enzyme called catalase in it, which causes hydrogen peroxide to bubble up and turn pink when the two are mixed together.

Paige dipped a Q-tip into peroxide and started rubbing it onto a portion of the lamp - which she documented in another TikTok video - and she soon started to notice that the stain was changing to a lighter color.

'That's not good, that's not good,' she said in the video, before adding in a follow-up, 'I poured a little more peroxide on it last night and it did bubble and fizz.'

Paige admitted to DailyMail.com that she 'freaked out' after performing the hydrogen peroxide test, so she decided to reach out to a family member who has been in law enforcement for over 20 years and ask them what to do.

'Their advice was helpful. Based on the information I shared, along with the photos, I was told there was a possibility it was blood,' she said.

Her family member theorized that the previous owner of the lamp might have committed suicide.

Paige added: 'In their experience, family members tend to get rid of everything near the scene of such tragedies to avoid the memories attached with the items.'

The Texas student explained that she decided to call the police to let them know what she had found, but there wasn't a lot they could do since there was no way to track down who it originally belonged to.

'My family member said that there is a good chance it wouldn’t be tested, but I reached out to local law enforcement just to make sure. I was told it could be blood, but they declined to pursue it,' she shared.

While Paige still 'wants to find out more,' she feels like she has hit a dead end. She said: 'There’s not really a way to get more history on it, so I guess it’s just up to everyone’s imagination'

'It has already been contaminated by all the people who have touched it, so the police or forensic team wouldn’t really be able to do anything except put the blood DNA into a database in case anything comes up in the future.

'They would have to have the perpetrator’s DNA, which is only likely if the person is a felon. Otherwise, it won’t be in the database.

'If this is blood, it could be 20, 30, or more years old, so there’s no way to find out where it came from or how many hands it’s been in.'

She added that she also contacted the thrift store to see if they had a 'record' of who had donated it, but was told that it was left 'anonymously' and that there was 'no way to track' where it had come from.

While Paige still 'wants to find out more,' she now feels like she has hit a dead end.

'There’s not really a way to get more history on it, so I guess it’s just up to everyone’s imagination at that point,' she concluded.

DWTS Competitor Could Have Died Following Incident Near Home

Getty Images A DWTS alum is speaking out following a neighborhood dispute.

A former “Dancing With the Stars” cast member is speaking out after an incident that occurred near his home in Florida that he says could have ended very badly.

Terrell Owens, who appeared on season 25 of the ballroom competition show, said that a dispute involving his neighbor could have turned out far worse than it did and he’s not backing down.

On August 5, 2022, TMZ released the audio of a 911 call in which Owens’ neighbor claimed that the former NFLer was speeding in the neighborhood and then he “threatened” her.

“He got out of his car and started threatening me. He was literally speeding and then got mad at me because we were crossing in the sidewalk and he nearly hit us,” the woman said on the recording.

The woman, who was identified as Caitlyn Davis, said that she felt threatened because “a black man was approaching a white woman.” Owens ended up getting much of the back and forth with Davis on camera.

Police arrived on the scene and were able to get everything squared away, but Owens isn’t ready to let it all go.

Here’s what you need to know:

There Is a Change.org Petition Seeking Criminal Charges Against Davis

Regarding the incident that took place last night,
NEED YOUR HELP by signing this petition to put Caitlyn Davis aka another “Karen” in jail that endangered my life.
See CAREN ACT LAW… https://t.co/eHbrkOLVDC

— Terrell Owens (@terrellowens) August 4, 2022

Shortly after the incident occurred, Owens shared a Change.org petition that seeks the attention of Florida District Attorney Ashley Moody in hopes she will prosecute Davis.

“Regarding the incident that took place last night, NEED YOUR HELP by signing this petition to put Caitlyn Davis aka another ‘Karen’ in jail that endangered my life. See CAREN ACT LAW…,” Owens tweeted along with a link to the petition.

“This has to stop!! False police reports are punishable by law for up to a year in jail. To call the police for basically him just being a black man in his own neighborhood is just beyond unacceptable. Both police and tax payer money are being wasted for calls such as these. Absolutely despicable. Please sign this petition now. This woman deserves to be in jail for false police reporting and her racist behavior that could of potentially led and claimed yet another innocent black life being taken had the police acted differently,” a portion of the petition’s description reads.

At the time of this writing, more than 15,000 signatures have been added to the petition.

Additionally, Owens is selling “Karen is real” merchandise, according to an Instagram post he shared on August 6, 2022.

Owens Feels That Things Could Have Gone Much Differently ‘if the Wrong Type of Cops Came Out’ View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Terrell Owens (@terrellowens)

Following the incident, Owens sat down for a chat with TMZ Sports in which he said that he “honestly could have died” had things gone different.

“If the wrong type of cops came out, if they got the wrong type of information. Her, you saw the video, she started crying, you never know how that situation could’ve turned,” Owens explained. “I could’ve died. Honestly, I could have died and the storyline would be totally different,” he continued.

Owens went on to say that he hopes the story gets in front of District Attorney Ashley Moody.

“Like I said, this could’ve been a situation where you guys may not have been talking to me live here today, but been talking about me in another way,” he said.
