In a heartbreaking rescue story, this dog was chained up for years and found in the middle of nowhere in Greece. When her rescuers arrived, she was so happy for human contact and to be freed from the heavy chain. For many pet owners, it’s difficult to imagine abandoning a beloved pet, but this was the sad reality for this poor girl.

Fortunately, there is a happy ending to her story!

Despite being mistreated and chained up for years, Mumia was still so friendly and full of love. Soon after Mumia was rescued, a family was traveling in Greece and decided to visit a local animal shelter. When they saw Mumia, they had an instant connection and decided to fly her home to Finland with them!

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon to find abandoned dogs in yards and public spaces tied to trees or other stationary objects. For these innocent animals, being tied up and helpless is terrifying. Even when rescued in time, most abused dogs need plenty of time to recover their trust in humans. However, the unbreakable bond that results from patience, dedication, and compassion is worth it!

Lynn Woman Gets 11 Years For Stabbing 36-Year-Old Man To Death In 2019: DA

A Lynn woman has been sentenced to 7-11 years in prison for stabbing a 36-year-old man to death three years ago, the Essex County District Attorney's Office reports.

Beatrice Ortiz, age 37, was convicted of voluntarily manslaughter in connection with the stabbing death of Charles "CJ" Stankiewicz on August 19, 2019, the office reports.

Prosecutors referenced surveillance footage that captured Ortiz grabbing a knife and plunging it into Stankiewicz's chest outside a business on Union Street in Lynn. The incident happened after the two had gotten into a fight, the office reports.

Stankiewicz's body was later found with the knife still in his chest between two cars at 110 Union Street, the office said. He was taken to Salem Hospital where he later died.

"Charles lived in Massachusetts for many years, as well as in New Jersey and California," his obituary reads. "His loving family and friends will always remember his charm, wit, warmth and humor. Many were touched by his humble, philosophical, and tender nature."

Essex Assistant District Attorney Kimberly Gillespie also referenced Ortiz's past life aggressions, saying, “she has had the benefit of probationary sentences over and over.” Gillespie added that the whole incident "could have been avoided."
