Formerly known as Veterans for Trump, the group Veterans For America First endorsed Maury County Mayor Andy Ogles in the race for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District seat, announced the Ogles campaign in a statement.

The statement notes: “The organization has already endorsed conservative candidates Rep.

Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA), Rep. Lauren Boebert (CO), Sarah Palin (AK), Herschel Walker (GA), and Kari Lake (AZ), among others.”

“I am honored and humbled to receive the endorsement from Veterans For America First today. Their support reflects my own commitment to advocating for veterans, first responders, and those dedicated to making our communities safe and secure,” Ogles said.

Ogles committed to spearhead legislation that will put America’s veterans first.

“Congress is sending a tremendous amount of our taxpayer dollars to other countries and funding endless wars. Instead, we should be devoting that money to our veterans suffering from PTSD, homelessness, and a lack of medical care. Therefore, I commit to champion legislation that takes care of our veterans at home and continues President Trump’s noninterventionist policies.”

Ogles promised, if elected, he will pursue America First policies.

“As Mayor of Maury County, I have worked closely with police, fire, and first responders in our community to protect our citizens and their families,” Ogles noted. “They deserve our complete respect and support as opposed to the so-called progressive efforts to defund police, empower criminals through the actions of liberal District Attorneys, and promote the interests of illegal immigrants ahead of the needs of our veterans. Working with Veterans for America First, I will help restore the proper focus of putting America First.”

The Ogles campaign statement additionally notes, “In the Summer of 2016, groups of military combat veterans, border patrol agents, first responders, and patriots got together to form Veterans For Trump (VFT) to help elect America-First candidates across the United States. They were inspired by Trump’s dedication to our troops, his commitment to protecting the border, and his dedication to making America great again. VFT has since rebranded to Veterans for America First and now works in conjunction with veteran service organizations to provide support and advocacy for veterans and first responders on national and local levels.”

The primary for the Republican nomination for Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District seat will occur on August 4.

Army Combat Veteran Brian Mast Endorses Herschel Walker

Representative Brian Mast (R-FL-18) endorsed GOP Senate nominee Herschel Walker in a statement released on Wednesday.

“For many years, Herschel Walker has worked to support men and women in the military, and I have confidence he will continue to do so in the U.S. Senate. He has my full endorsement, “the Army combat veteran said.

Veterans affairs and law enforcement are two key issues of the Walker campaign.

“Our veterans are talking, telling us how we can help them, but Joe Biden and Raphael Warnock aren’t listening. After everything they’ve given for our freedom, at the very least, they need an advocate in the U.S. Senate. My heart is with them, and I will always fight for them,” Team Herschel said in a Wednesday statement.

Mast served in the U.S. Army for over 12 years, and his medals include The Bronze Star Medal, The Army Commendation Medal for Valor, The Purple Heart Medal, and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal.

“It’s an honor to have your endorsement, @BrianMastFl! After years of traveling to military bases around the world, I know heroes like YOU are the reason American is the greatest country in the world. When I’m in the U.S. Senate, veterans like you will always have my full support!” Team Herschel said.

Mast worked as a bomb disposal expert at Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) in Afghanistan, and the final improvised explosive device (IED) he found resulted in the loss of both legs.

“Our veterans are true heroes and have sacrificed everything for us. Team Herschel will always back our great veterans!” Walker said.

Republican general election nominee, Mark Gonsalves (GA-07), spoke with The Georgia Star News on Friday about Walker’s endorsement and his respect for military veterans.

“I think that that’s a wonderful, wonderful endorsement for Herschel to receive and hearing it, I think of the brave men and women who have fought for this country. I think of those that paid the ultimate devotion to our country fighting for the freedoms we have,” Gonsalves said.

Gonsalves spoke about the sacrifices that veterans like Congressman Mast, a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, have made for the United States.

“Whenever I encounter a veteran, particularly a veteran that has been wounded to the degree that this man has been, I’m listening to him,” he said.

“It’s very easy to sit back in the comfort of your own home and turn on the news, but when you’re in harm’s way and you’re fighting to protect and preserve our uniquely American freedoms, I think every American should honor that man. The fact that he honored Herschel with his endorsement, I take that as a very big positive,” Gonsalves added.
