HARRY KANE sunk an 18-foot putt as the England striker joined other sporting legends in switching to golf for a mega-event in New York.
But Liverpool midfielder James Milner was the stand-out performer for the Rest of the World in the inaugural Icons Series tournament as a USA squad brimming with NFL and NBA talent led 1-5 overnight.3Harry Kane picked up a win apiece in the foursomes and greensomesCredit: Getty Images - Getty

Kane pulled off his mighty putt when paired with retired Australian tennis icon Ash Barty as they lost to basketball hero JR Smith and ex-baseball pitcher J Scholtz.
The Spurs striker and Barty then beat the gridiron pair of two-time Super Bowl winner Ben Roethlisberger and one-time SB king Marshall FaulkMarshall Faulk in the greensomes.
Kane, though, was back on the ropes in his second fourballs when he and boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez succumbed to Faulk and ex-New York Giants hero Michael Strahan.
And to make things worse for Kane the word on the greens was that Strahan 'needed to speak' to him - to 'discuss' his preference for the New England Patriots and Tom Brady.

Even more gloomily, in the 12 singles on the second day of this Ryder Cup-style event, the Three Lions' World Cup hopeful was beaten by ex-Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Roethlisberger, who finished him off with a birdie.
Milner, however, notched fourball victories with former Australia cricket skipper Ricky Ponting and ex-Manchester United and Leeds frontman Alan Smith.
And there was joy for giants of the Southern Hemisphere world at the tournament, hosted by the Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City.
Ex-Australia rugby union ace George Gregan triumphed in his two fourballs, alongside South Africa's cricket icon AB De Villiers and former Scotland rugby star Gavin Hastings. Most read in SportPAIGE RAGE Paige Spiranac branded 'fat and ugly' by vile trolls after Sexiest Woman awardTRAGIC END Baltimore Ravens star's shock cause of death revealed in new autopsy resultsHAMMER TIME Thor Bjornsson calls out Tyson Fury for 600lb mega-fight after 'Hammer' tauntsFITZ OF LAUGHTER Paige Spiranac hits back at 'dumb people' after golf sexualization tweet
But for Kane the two-dayer was all about the 'challenge' of trying to prove yourself in one of the world's world's most frustrating sports
He said: "You know, you're hitting a standing object, one minute you are hitting it the best you ever hit it and then one hole later you can't even make contact properly.
"So that challenge of that battle is really challenging - mentally to forget shots and move on and be positive.
"So I love the challenge of it and I think that's what brings us all back to play more and more."

Antonio Conte returns to Stamford Bridge as Spurs look to replace Chelsea as biggest rivals to Prem’s power couple
ANTONIO CONTE returns to Stamford Bridge on Sunday as his Spurs side bid to lay down a marker against Chelsea.

Many people have tipped the Lilywhites as the best equipped to challenge Manchester City and Liverpool this season following a successful transfer window.
Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence have all arrived over the past six weeks as Daniel Levy hands Conte the backing his predecessors had all been crying out for.
Elsewhere in the capital, Chelsea's change of ownership has brought with it the exits of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Romelu Lukaku on loan.
Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech also left the board following Todd Boehly's arrival, with the LA Dodgers owner appointing himself as interim sporting director.READ MORE ON CHELSEAChelsea news Fofana deal AGREED, Aubameyang talks 'serious', Frenkie de Jong latest
And so far he has three new signings - Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.
Negotiations for the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Benjamin Pavard are continuing to stall.
And they have already missed out on Jules Kounde to Barcelona.
Nevertheless, Thomas Tuchel kicked off the new campaign with a hard-fought win over Everton thanks to a Jorginho penalty. Most read in SportTEO TIME Teofimo Lopez wins on return to ring and step up in weight as he stops Pedro CampaCAN I KICK IT? Now the home game against Spurs is the perfect test to see whether Chelsea remain the closest challengers to City and Liverpool.
It is also the kind of match that will enable us to see if Tuchel's claims about not being ready for the season were true or simply a pressure reliever.
Chelsea beat Tottenham FOUR times last season - twice in the Prem and in both legs of their Carabao Cup semi-final.
Spurs also failed to score a goal in any of those matches.
That recent record makes a win for Conte's men this weekend even more of a statement.
It will show the rest of the division just how far they have come since the start of 2022 - when they were beaten three times in 18 days by Tuchel's side.
Conte is expected to stick with an identical or very similar line-up to the one which swatted Saints aside eight days previous.
The dynamic front three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski will be determined to end Spurs' run of six games without a goal against Chelsea.
Tottenham have also not won any of their last seven Prem meetings with the Blues.
The last time they tasted victory against their London counterparts in the league was in a 3-1 win in November 2018 when Dele Alli was on the scoresheet.
But Spurs do now seem as coherent and threatening as they have at any point since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.READ MORE ON CHELSEAPUL IT OFF Chelsea 'interested in Christian Pulisic swap transfer for Nicolo Zaniolo'AUBA THE MOON Aubameyang's outrageous stats under Tuchel explain why German wants reunion
With Conte's return to Stamford Bridge promising a special atmosphere, this could be the time Spurs finally end a dismal run against Chelsea.
Both sides will feel they have things to prove on just the second weekend of the campaign.
And, as the first blockbuster between the big six, we could learn a great deal about what to expect from both clubs this season.
