JONNY BAIRSTOW has insisted the fire is still in his belly... but it's not all down to his new friendship with Mary Berry.

Baristow, 32, has symbolised the revitalisation of England's Test cricket team under skipper Ben Stokes and coach Brendon McCullum.

He is second in the world in Test runs this calendar year with an impressive 774, beaten only by Australia's Usman Khawaja.

It was a blistering, 77-ball century from Bairstow which fired England to victory against New Zealand at Trent Bridge.

Followed by a brilliant 130 not out from 126 balls to salvage the first innings - and eventually the win and series - at home ground Headingly.

The Yorkshireman was interviewed about his recent good form by former England captain Nasser Hussain on behalf of the Daily Mail.

Bairstow said: "That fire is always in my belly.

"My appetite to play Test cricket for England will never cease and the passion, the will and the want are most definitely there.

"You know how much it means to me and I'm extremely proud of doing that.

"All I can say is that it's nice to have the backing of everybody."

The exhilarating batter was asked about "Baz-ball", the unofficial moniker of the new red-ball style being played with McCullum at the helm.

He added: "Yes, there have been some amazing times but I think the way we are going about our cricket is really exciting.

"I really do hope it's grabbing people's attention. That's exactly what we want to be doing.

"We were inspired to play cricket as kids and we want to inspire the next generation to come and watch the game and play it."

"It's just looking to be busy and shifting the momentum back on to the bowler.

"I haven't gone out looking to just slog or anything. I like to think it's been calculated."

England's Test match against India on Friday is Bairstow's 87th and he was probed on whether he has an eye on his century of caps for the national team.

"I don't want to look too far ahead but it's your ambition as a kid to play 100 Tests for England and if I got there it would mean a heck of a lot.

"That would be very special."

And the side's former wicket keeper had more than just fire in his tummy after meeting Berry.

He filmed a TV show with the former Great British Bake Off legend on Tuesday.

Bairstow revealed: "What an absolute legend of a person she is!

"We had such a nice afternoon and then she did us this tea with smoked salmon, wild rice and asparagus. It was lovely.

I found Walmart secret clearance item listed at $897 for just $5 – people always miss out, but it’s easy to find them

A WALMART shopper has found a product for nearly $900 off and there’s a way to score other deals like this one if you happen to miss out.

As the largest retailer in the country, Walmart offers various products from grocery to entertainment.

2TikToker SynthiaSaves found a patio set for nearly $900 off 2There are a couple of ways you can find clearance items at Walmart

While there are quite a few ways to save money, there might not be one better than clearance.

This is because these items are typically heavily marked down by stores in effort to get rid of them for whatever reason.

TikToker SynthiaSaves has scored a product that was originally listed at $897 for just $5.

In addition to Walmart, Synthia shows off finds and deals at Sam’s Club, Dollar General and Target.

Here’s what she found at Walmart.

The product she found and how to find clearance deals

First, keep in mind that prices and deals could vary by location.

But she claimed she was able to find a “Better Homes & Gardens Brookbury 5-Piece Patio Wicker Sectional Set” for just $5 at a local Walmart, as shown in a recent video.

Online, the price is listed as $897.

There are a couple of ways you can find clearance items like the patio set.

One of them is by going to the store and using your phone.

Ideally, you’ll want to download the Walmart app because the price is often listed wrong in the clearance section.

For example, TikToker and bargain hunter “dealswithnat2” found several bags and purses that actually cost $1, instead of the higher prices that they were listed for.

And a Walmart superfan, who goes by JoJo Gerow on TikTok, found a “My Life” doll that was priced at $34 each.

But after scanning a blonde ballerina 18-inch doll, it came up as only $9.

Additionally, markdowns can be found online through Walmart’s clearance section.

The tool allows customers to start by price, for example, $25 and under.

Other ways to save money

As always, keep in mind some general savings tips.

One of them includes buying store-brand items over name brands.

This is said to save shoppers up to 30 percent.

And if you’re worried about sacrificing the taste of store-brand products compared with prominent brands – you shouldn’t.

A market research study by IRi found that 75 percent of respondents think the quality of store brand items is just as good as major ones in the country, as cited by Ramsey Solutions.

Other than buying store-brand products, you’ll want to keep some other general savings tips in mind.

This includes couponing, which could save the average household $1,465 per year, according to a study from CouponFollow.

To coupon, you can check if they are offered on apps through the retailer that you’re looking to shop at.

Also, there are some third-party apps including Rakuten and Ibotta that you can coupon through.

And another picked up $36 worth of items for just $7.
